oai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/15Atharva Veda occupies a unique position among the four Vedas. The other three Vedas deal with matters of other world, the gods, nature, and the supernatural, while Atharva Veda is more worldly. It seeks to solve the problems of this world and its common people. It deals with a topic like leading a long and healthy life, to avoid sorrow, to ward off illness, to vanquish or win over the enemy, etc. Atharva Veda presents a detailed description of the lifestyle of a very early stage of human society, which has just entered the agricultural stage. The importance of animal wealth cows, oxen, horses is much more. New kingdoms are being established. Men want to live happy healthy lives for up to one hundred years. Pandit Bhagwat Sharma Upadhyay, in Hindi Vishwakosh, says, “The stress in Atharva Veda is not so much on the use of Karma Kanda or the rituals, as on doing right or wrong, high or low, do-s and don’ts, popular beliefs, and tendencies of life. From this point of view, the importance of Atharva Veda is much more, for the historian, than of the other three Vedas. The first references to Puranas, history, gathas, etc. are found here. This Veda also points to many such traditions which are not only older than Rig Veda but really go back to very very old times”. There are several versions as to why Friday was called this way. According to one of the versions, Adam was created by Allah on Friday. Juma' in Arabic means the process of completing something, as the moment when Allah Almighty assembled something, that is, the completion of creation. The question as to why Friday was called "Juma" was asked to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, he replied that the name was given because on this day Allah completed the creation of Adam jumma mubarak, the forefather of all mankind (hadith from Imam Ahmad as transmitted by Abu Hureira). > Top Searchable Keywords Atharva Veda, Veda,  Atharva, Atharva-Veda, Atharva Veda, Atharva Veda in Hindi, Vedic psychology, Atharva Veda Samhita, Atharva Veda, Sama Veda deals with, rig Veda deals with, Atharva-véd

Teaching Peace along with routine education: A simple and easy to implement strategy for a peaceful happy world

In this paper the authors propose ways of implementing peace education andintegrating it in the routine curriculum. Unlike the teaching of academic and vocational skills, which are based on the transmission of knowledge and skills alone, peace education is based on understanding of human motives and, above all, on example. The key individuals in the effort of peace education are teachers in primary, secondary and higher education, and the point at which peace education has to start is in the training of future teachers. Peace education has to communicate both values supportive of peace and non-violence, and the reasoning and interpersonal skills required for non-violent conflict resolution. Rather than introducing formal instruction in”peace science”, teachers may find it more effective to introduce the subject informally with examples that illustrate the value of non-violence, and examples of the ways in which violent conflict can be avoided or resolved. Herein, it is emphasized that peace education can be introduced effectively by merging it with the existing education system. The current paper outlines the concept for introducing peace education and provides an implementation strategy, contributes unique methods, and offers novel suggestions regarding its why, where and how

A Study on The Attitude of Secondary School Teachers of West Bengal Towards CLIL

Cognitive development goes hand in hand with linguistic development, and language emerges as a tool through which a learner comes to understand the world. In the first language these processes are paired naturally, though for second language learners like the majority of learners of English in India, traditional methods for teaching second/foreign languages often dissociate language learning from cognitive or academic development. By contrast, an integrated approach brings these domains together in instruction. Integration of language and content, commonly known as CLIL, therefore emerges as significant for effective education. However, though the West Bengal Elementary Teacher Education Curriculum Framework encourages? CLIL, there seems to be a significant knowledge gap among practising secondary and higher secondary teachers regarding language and content integrated teaching and learning. The present study seeks to explore the knowledge and attitude of teachers of West Bengal regarding the CLIL methodology
