05.1 - Epistemic Hygiene & Methodological Standards
Epistemic Hygiene & Methodological Standards (v0.1) defines the normative analysis discipline for Stability Biology.
It provides a practical checklist for designing, analyzing, and reporting BSMI studies in a way that preserves commensurability, guards against overfitting, axis fishing, and narrative drift, and makes clear distinctions between exploratory and confirmatory work.
This section sets mandatory expectations for QC transparency, contextual declaration, checkpoint awareness, and responsible use of stability axes and Ψ. It defines how results may be interpreted and claimed, not what data must exist or how it is encoded.
05.1 operates in coordination with MISTAB (05.2) and the Core Data Schema (05.3) and is normative for all public-facing materials claiming BSMI conformance
05.4 "Anti-Enshittification" Charter
The "Anti-Enshittification" Charter is a short normative statement of commons-protective norms for Stability Biology. It commits the project to open standards, transparency of Ψ and stability metrics, resistance to metric capture and enclosure, and a non-extractive orientation for commercial use. It should be read alongside Governance, Licensing & Stewardship (05.5)
Impact of frailty on effects of antihypertensive treatment in cardiovascular disease and all-cause mortality SAP
The aim of this individual participant data (IPD) meta-analysis is to investigate whether patient frailty modifies the effect of antihypertensive treatment, using data from five landmark randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled antihypertensive trials. This statistical analysis plan (SAP) pre-specifies the primary and secondary outcomes of the study, the analytical approach for evaluating the interaction between frailty level and antihypertensive treatment, and the key variables included in this IPD meta-analysis. The primary analysis uses trial-stratified Fine–Gray competing-risk regression models. The SAP also outlines planned sensitivity analyses, including subgroup analyses and re-analyses using a frailty index constructed after excluding cardiovascular-related items
Desarrollo de un Sistema de Diagnóstico Actitudinal hacia la Estadística en Estudiantes de Ingeniería mediante el SATS-28
Este estudio desarrolla un índice de diagnóstico actitudinal hacia la
estadística para estudiantes de ingeniería mediante la aplicación del
instrumento SATS-28. Se analizaron dos cohortes de la Universidad Adolfo
Ibáñez (Chile): 377 estudiantes en 2015 y 451 en 2020. Los resultados
revelan una evolución positiva en todas las dimensiones (Afecto,
Competencia Cognitiva, Valor y Dificultad), con excelente confiabilidad
(α = 0.87-0.89). El índice propuesto facilita intervenciones pedagógicas
diferenciadas basadas en perfiles actitudinales específicos.

What is the evidence available on the use of surgical simulation in medical education, compared with traditional teaching methods, in health professionals in training: a scoping review.
INTRODUCTION
Surgical simulation has become established as a relevant educational strategy within medical training, enabling the progressive development of technical and non-technical skills in controlled and safe environments. Through the use of low- and high-fidelity simulators, physical models, and virtual platforms, this methodology facilitates experiential learning, deliberate repetition, and structured feedback—elements considered essential for acquiring surgical competencies. Its incorporation into undergraduate and postgraduate programs has been driven by the need to improve patient safety, standardize teaching, and respond to the growing demands for quality in healthcare (1,2,3)
Data to the AE project
Emotional ambivalence toward others’ outcomes may involve two competing appraisal systems: an empathy-based appraisal concerned with another’s welfare and a justice-based appraisal concerned with whether outcomes are morally deserved. This research tested whether these appraisals can be co-activated within a single evaluation and how arousal shapes such emotional ambivalence. Across two studies, participants evaluated prosocial or selfish individuals experiencing positive or negative outcomes. In Study 1, self-reports indicated positive reactions to prosocial success and negative reactions to selfish success, with the reverse for misfortunes. fEMG showed simultaneous activation of the zygomaticus major and corrugator supercilii, providing physiological evidence of co-activation in mixed responses. Study 2 found greater ambivalence under low arousal than high arousal. The results indicate that emotional ambivalence arises when empathy-based and justice-based appraisals are jointly engaged and that arousal limits the conditions under which this co-activation becomes observable
