The effectiveness of a therapeutically applied Dungeons and Dragons group intervention in a community mental health setting – Protocol for a randomised controlled trial.

    No full text
Background: The use of Therapeutically Applied Role-Playing Games (TA-RPGs) in mental health treatment settings has grown in popularity in recent years and early results appear promising. Up until recently, the use of TA-RPGs for the treatment of anxiety and depression has not been studied in people who present with complex mental health issues. However, one recent waitlist-controlled trial explored the use of TA-RPG’s in an adult community mental health setting, in NSW, Australia (Rae et al., 2025). This study reported that a TA-RPG (Dungeons and Dragons with elements of CBT embedded throughout) reduced self-reported symptoms of social anxiety, depression and improved self-esteem. The current study therefore extends this work, using a more robust experimental design. Methods: The authors propose a two-group randomised controlled trial testing the efficacy of a CBT-infused, therapeutically applied, 8-week Dungeons and Dragons group program. An active control group will play board games for a comparable amount of time. Outcome measures will be collected before and after participation in both groups, with the intervention group also completing outcome measures at 12 month follow up. Conclusion: The results will determine the effectiveness of providing a TA-RPG group in a community mental health service. Trial registration: The trial was registered on the Australian New Zealand Clinical Trials Registry on 14/4/25; reference number ACTRN1262500029643

Protocol for Systematic Review: Models of Scientific Knowledge Transfer, Gaps and STI Ecosystems in Iberoamerica

    No full text
Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) ecosystems in Iberoamerica have historically been conceived under a linear technology transfer model, where knowledge flows unidirectionally from university to industry and a few at comunities. In recent decades, alternative approaches have emerged based on innovation ecosystems, triple and quadruple helix models, and, more recently, social appropriation of knowledge, knowledge management, and knowledge economy approaches oriented toward sustainable and territorial development. However, the literature on these ecosystems is dispersed, and there is little systematic synthesis on: (i) how scientific knowledge transfer is conceptualized, (ii) which gaps and barriers are identified in practice, and (iii) to what extent a transition is observed from linear models to social appropriation and SDG-oriented approaches in the Iberoamerican context. This review aims to fill that gap by providing an evidence base for the design of territorial STI strategies and policies, as a contribution to building common agendas on priority development issue

L’impact de l'écart entre les attentes prénatales et l’expérience réelle postnatale de la maternité sur le bien-être émotionnel des mères

    No full text

Algorithmic Derivation of Quantum Dynamics and Frequency Density Model (Kvant Dinamikasi va Chastotaviy Zichlik Modelining Algoritmik Keltirib Chiqarilishi)

    No full text
This paper formalizes a novel algorithmic approach to gravity, defining it not as a fundamental force, but as a geometric resultant of quantum node frequency density. By deriving mass (m) through the interaction of Planck’s constant (h), frequency (f), and the quantum surface area (λ²), we establish a mathematical framework where classical mechanics (F = ma) and the universal gravitational constant (G) emerge from spatial-temporal oscillations

Development and Validation of a Workplace Well-Being Assessment Tool for Workers with Intellectual Disabilities

    No full text
Workplace well-being is a critical determinant of employment retention for people with intellectual disabilities (PwID), a population that remains largely disadvantaged in both access to employment and job retention. Despite this, no validated questionnaire currently exists to assess workplace well-being and its associated factors that has been specifically developed for this population. The objective of the present research was therefore to develop a quantitative, self-reported instrument designed to assess workplace well-being and its associated factors tailored to PwID in sheltered employment. In a first study, the questionnaire content was evaluated by an expert committee composed of professionals and researchers in the field, using the Lynn method. The instrument included indicators of workplace well-being (i.e., burnout, need for recovery, job satisfaction and vigour), job characteristics, and recovery outside of work, variables based on the JD-R model, the DISC-R model and recovery theories. In a second study, this validated questionnaire was administered to a sample of PwID to assess its accessibility. All 80 items were validated by the expert committee. Testing with 29 respondents indicated that the questionnaire was accessible to the target population. Further research is needed to test the questionnaire with a larger sample to provide additional psychometric evidence

Perinatal Mental Health Access and Experiences of Ethnic Minority Women in the UK: A Scoping Review Protocol

    No full text
Introduction: Perinatal mental health is a critical aspect of maternal and child wellbeing. Current evidence shows disparities in access and experiences for ethnic minority service users. Existing research is fragmented across qualitative, quantitative, and policy sources. A scoping review will help map the width of evidence and highlight gaps for further study. Objective: In this review, we aim to map existing evidence on access to and experiences of perinatal mental health services among ethnic minorities living in the UK. We intend to explore barriers and facilitators experienced, to identify potential service improvements, needs and gaps for future research and policy. Inclusion criteria: This review will include studies focusing on service users from ethnic minority backgrounds in the perinatal period and addressing access to and experiences of perinatal mental health care within mental health services in the UK. Eligible evidence will include quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods studies, as well as reviews, service models, and policy documents. Studies conducted outside the UK or which focused primarily on asylum seekers and refugees will be excluded due to limited access to services and non-mainstream access routes. Methods: A comprehensive search will be conducted to identify both published and grey literature. The search will cover the period from January 2015 to September 2025. Keywords and controlled vocabulary terms (e.g., MeSH in MEDLINE, Emtree in Embase, and subject headings in CINAHL and PsycINFO) relating to perinatal mental health, access to and experiences of services, and ethnic minority populations will be used to develop the search strategy, which will be adapted for each database to ensure sensitivity and completeness. The following databases will be searched: MEDLINE, Embase, PsycINFO, CINAHL, using Medline/Ovid, Embase/Ovid, PsycINFO/Ovid, and CINAHL/EBSCO interfaces. Grey literature will be identified through targeted searches of key organisational and governmental websites, including NHS England, the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), and GOV.UK, to capture relevant reports, guidelines, and policy documents. Two independent reviewers will screen all titles, abstracts, and full-text papers against the eligibility criteria, with any disagreements resolved through discussion with a third reviewer. The selection process will be documented and presented using a PRISMA flow diagram
