Measuring the Effects of Harmonious and Obsessive Passion on Politically Driven Behaviors
This research project aims to follow up with participants who were previously assessed in Study 1. In Study 1, we collected data from a sample of American participants who self-identified as either Democrats or Republicans. We measured their type of passion toward their political party (harmonious or obsessive) and assessed a range of political behaviors and emotional responses prior to the 2024 elections.
In Study 2, we plan to conduct a second wave of data collection in order to examine whether the observed effects persist or change over time. We have also included new items related to current political events to investigate whether the type of passion individuals hold toward their political party influences their perceptions and evaluations of contemporary political situations.
Through this longitudinal design, we aim to better understand how harmonious and obsessive passion differentially predict a variety of political, emotional, and perceptual outcomes over time
The Silicon-Carbon Interface: Decoding DNA-Based Cyber Attacks
This research explores a novel attack vector in the domain of cyberbiosecurity, specifically focusing on the exploitation of DNA sequencing software. We present a technical deep-dive into the vulnerability CVE-2019-11371 within the Burrows-Wheeler Aligner (BWA), demonstrating how synthesized DNA strands can be engineered as biological "payloads" to trigger stack-based buffer overflows.

Binary-to-DNA Encoding: A mechanism for mapping malicious shellcode into nucleotide sequences (A, C, T, G).
Exploit Architecture: Engineering NOP sleds and bimodal encoding to bypass digital and biological screening.

Rethinking AI Literacy and Ethical, Culturally Responsive AI Competence: A Scoping Review Protocol of AI Capability Frameworks in African Higher Education
Background: The rapid proliferation of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education has intensified global debates concerning academic integrity, epistemic agency, and the development of responsible AI competence. Although AI literacy and capability frameworks are increasingly proposed to guide ethical and critical engagement with AI technologies, existing models remain conceptually fragmented and largely grounded in Global North epistemological assumptions. Limited synthesis exists regarding how these frameworks address ethical reasoning, cultural responsiveness, and epistemic justice within African higher education contexts. Objective: This scoping review aims to systematically map AI capability and AI literacy frameworks relevant to higher education, with particular attention to their ethical, developmental, and culturally responsive dimensions in African settings. Methods: Guided by Arksey and O’Malley’s methodological framework and reported in accordance with PRISMA-ScR, the review will search Scopus, Web of Science, ERIC, and Google Scholar for English-language publications from 2010 to 2025. The review will examine how AI literacy and competence are defined, how developmental progression is structured, and the extent to which frameworks engage Indigenous Knowledge Systems, decolonial scholarship, and African epistemic priorities. Discussion: By identifying conceptual patterns, epistemic silences, and regional disparities, this review will provide a justice-oriented evidence base to inform the development of ethically grounded, culturally responsive, and developmentally coherent AI competence frameworks in African higher educatio

Party Preferences Among Immigrant-Background Voters in Germany: A Conjoint Experiment
This project examines how voters with immigrant backgrounds in Germany evaluate political parties and form electoral preferences. Using an online conjoint survey experiment, respondents evaluate hypothetical party profiles that vary across several attributes, with particular emphasis on party rhetoric and policy statements related to immigration and immigrant-background communities. The study tests whether and how different forms of immigration-related rhetoric shape respondents’ party preferences and their stated likelihood of voting for a given party. The project is motivated by theories of political representation and group-based voting behavior, which suggest that voters may respond differently to signals of inclusion, exclusion, or neutrality directed toward their social group. In addition to estimating the direct effects of party rhetoric on electoral preferences, the study also explores potential mechanisms related to perceptions of social status and group threat. The results will provide evidence about how immigration-related party messaging influences party evaluations and vote intentions among immigrant-background voters in Germany

Onasemnogene abeparvovec (Zolgensma®) for the treatment of spinal muscular atrophy: A Protocol for Systematic Review
This project contains the protocol, search strategies, study selection materials, data extraction forms, risk-of-bias assessments, GRADE evidence profiles, PRISMA flow diagram, and manuscript files for a rapid systematic review and health technology assessment of onasemnogene abeparvovec (Zolgensma) for the treatment of spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). The review synthesizes evidence on efficacy and safety outcomes, including mortality, ventilation-free survival, motor milestones, quality-of-life-related outcomes, and adverse events. Searches were conducted in PubMed, Embase, and ClinicalTrials.gov on April 9, 2025, without language or date restrictions. Eligible studies included clinical studies with or without randomization in people with SMA receiving onasemnogene abeparvovec. Risk of bias was assessed using ROBINS-I and certainty of evidence was assessed using GRADE. This OSF record is intended to improve transparency and reproducibility by making the review materials publicly accessible. Cardiac Telerehabilitation for Heart Failure in Low- and Middle-Income Countries: A Scoping Review and Implementation Model Proposal
Heart failure (HF) is a leading cause of global cardiovascular morbidity and mortality, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), where healthcare infrastructure is limited and access to cardiac rehabilitation (CR) programs is restricted (Agbor et al., 2020).
Cardiac telerehabilitation (CTR) has emerged as a promising strategy to expand the reach of CR, offering a safe, cost-effective, and scalable alternative for patients in resource-constrained settings (Cavalheiro et al., 2021; Scherrenberg et al., 2020).
Despite CTR's potential, its practical implementation in LMICs faces unique challenges, ranging from low digital literacy to technological infrastructure instability. Although previous studies have mapped barriers to cardiovascular diseases, there is a critical gap in the literature regarding implementation models structured specifically for Heart Failure (HF) - a condition that requires greater rigor in risk stratification and exercise prescription safety.
In this context, it is imperative not only to synthesize the evidence but also to translate it into actionable protocols.
Therefore, this study proposes a scoping review (2020–2026, covering the intra- and post-pandemic period) integrated with the RE-AIM implementation framework, aiming to provide a practical 6-step guide and a clinical prescription model (FITT) adapted to the reality of limited resources.
