Développement et validation de l’échelle des processus dissociatifs (DPS) dans un échantillon clinique atteint du trouble obsessionnel compulsif (TOC).
This study investigates the factor structure of the Dissociative Experiences Scale (DES-II) in a clinical sample of adults with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), with a focus on identifying and validating a purified Dissociative Absorption (DA) factor. Utilizing an existing dataset collected at the Obsessive-Compulsive Research Laboratory of the Centre de recherche de l'Institut universitaire en santé mentale de Montréal, we aimed to replicate findings from Soffer-Dudek et al. (2015), who identified a clinically relevant eight-item DA factor in a non-clinical population.
The study pursued three primary objectives: (1) to test whether DA constitutes a unique factor within a three-factor model of the DES in an OCD clinical sample using confirmatory factor analysis; (2) to examine whether DA scores significantly predict OCD symptom severity, controlling for depression; and (3) to compare DA scores across three groups — individuals with OCD, a mixed anxiety/depressive disorder clinical control group, and a non-clinical control group.
Results indicated that while the three-factor DES model did not achieve adequate fit in this clinical sample, the eight-item DA factor alone demonstrated excellent fit. DA significantly predicted OCD symptoms, explaining 17% of variance in OCD total scores after controlling for depression, with the strongest associations found for obsessions, checking, just right, and indecisiveness symptom domains. Contrary to expectations, individuals with OCD did not score higher on DA than controls; rather, the anxiety/depressive disorder group showed the highest DA scores. These findings suggest that DA is clinically relevant to OCD symptomatology but may function as an exacerbating or vulnerability factor rather than a characteristic feature of OCD per se. The eight-item DA scale is proposed as a parsimonious stand-alone measure for future research on the role of absorption in OCD

Aplicaciones de la inteligencia artificial en la detección de fracturas en radiografías convencionales: una revisión de alcance
La inteligencia artificial (IA) es un campo de la ciencia de la computación orientado al desarrollo de algoritmos capaces de analizar grandes volúmenes de datos, identificar patrones complejos y apoyar procesos de toma de decisiones. En medicina, la aplicación de técnicas como machine learning y deep learning ha mostrado un creciente potencial en el análisis de imágenes médicas, particularmente en el ámbito de la radiología. La detección de fracturas mediante radiografías convencionales representa una de las aplicaciones más estudiadas de la inteligencia artificial en traumatología, debido a la alta frecuencia de estas lesiones y a los desafíos asociados con su interpretación diagnóstica. En este contexto, diversos estudios han explorado el uso de algoritmos de IA como herramientas de apoyo para mejorar la precisión diagnóstica y optimizar los procesos de evaluación radiológica. Ante el crecimiento de la literatura en este campo, el presente protocolo propone realizar una revisión de alcance con el objetivo de mapear la evidencia disponible sobre el uso de inteligencia artificial en la detección de fracturas mediante radiografías convencionales, identificando las principales aplicaciones, metodologías y características de los estudios publicados
Children's and adults' updating of words mapped during different levels of referential ambiguity - Extension to 3-year-olds
After testing adults, 5- to 6-year-olds, and later 4-year-olds in this project, we will now extend it to a sample of 3-year-olds. All the other information given in the preregistration of the main project remain identical.
In addition to the preregistration of the main project, we describe deviations from the original procedure in the uploaded preregistration file for 3-year-olds: To measure 3-year-olds' confidence, we will not use the 5-point confidence scale from the original project (see Destan et al., 2014), but instead the slightly simpler 3-point confidence scale that has been used for 3-year-olds before (Hembacher & Ghetti, 2014). The other details of the design, hypotheses, analyses etc. will remain the same for the sample of 3-year-olds
The effect of half an hour of walking on self-compassion in people with sedentary behaviour, A 21-day program Randomise-Controlled study
This study investigates whether a short, accessible walking intervention can improve self-compassion in adults with sedentary behaviour. It is a randomised controlled trial involving adults aged 18–65 who meet criteria for sedentary behaviour based on the International Physical Activity Questionnaire. Participants are block-randomised into one of three groups: light-intensity walking for 30 minutes daily, moderate-intensity walking for 30 minutes daily, or a control group maintaining usual activity, over a 21-day period. Self-compassion and self-esteem are measured before and after the intervention using validated scales, alongside assessment of physical activity levels. The primary outcome is change in self-compassion scores, with secondary outcomes examining changes in self-esteem and whether observed effects are independent of self-esteem. The study is designed to explore walking as a low-cost, widely accessible behavioural intervention for enhancing self-compassion, addressing gaps in the current literature where physical activity intensity and simple daily movement have been underexplored. The project is conducted as part of a Master’s dissertation at the University of Nottingham, has received ethical approval from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences Research Ethics Committee, and follows GDPR-compliant data management and analysis procedures
“It feels like a small God”: A Thematic Analysis of Cross-Cultural Imaginations of Generative AI Among Users Seeking Emotional and Mental Health Support
Introduction: Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) is increasingly used for emotional and mental support (EMS), a self-help process in which users often report developing perceptions of GenAI as being empathic and friend-like. These processes highlighted the possibility that human beings develop imaginations of GenAI chatbots that may reflect interpersonal needs and desires with important ethical implications. The objective of this study is to systematically explore, thematically organize, and critically interpret the imaginations of GenAI among users who repeatedly use GenAI for EMS.
Methods: This study recruited 270 adults from 29 countries who utilized GenAI repeatedly for EMS in April 2024. Participants provided qualitative data regarding their imagination of one GenAI, ChatGPT.
Results: Thematic analysis revealed that users develop imaginations around ontological identities (“what”) and functional characterizations (“how”) of GenAI. The “what” clustered along two dimensions: Abstract-Concrete and Human-Nonhuman, yielding representations such as unbounded energy, spiritual beings, social roles, humans, and robots. The “how” encompassed five themes: looking (physical traits and manifestations), knowing (cognitive abilities), doing (agency), feeling(emotional abilities), and relating (interpersonal capacities).
Discussion: The findings suggest a societal shift in which GenAI is not only used as an informational tool but also imagined as an all-knowing, powerful, and highly interpersonal being. Examining these imaginations offers a psychologically grounded lens on emerging human-AI relationships and highlights the need to assess potential benefits and risks of such projections for human flourishing across diverse populations.

The Map of Holistic Manifestation: An Interdisciplinary Theory of Systems Equilibrium
This paper presents the Map of Holistic Manifestation, an interdisciplinary theoretical framework describing the trajectory from internal states of consciousness (-1) to full external manifestation (+1), through a logarithmic scale of eleven critical points. The theory integrates neuroscience, evolutionary biology, social science, and philosophy, proposing that optimal human functioning and social stability require dynamic equilibrium between internal and external parameters.
The central mechanisms are: (i) the internal tension π, analogous to biological homeostasis and formalised as a weighted differential pressure function; (ii) the ethical threshold κ_η, operationalised as a measurable entropy-damping regulator with cross-national falsifiable predictions; and (iii) the variable L — self-other overlap reduction — grounded in five independent empirical research traditions (Porges, 2011; Nowak & Highfield, 2011; Bowlby, 1969; Batson, 1991; Aron et al., 1992) and identified as the structural condition for long-term system sustainability.
A primary novel contribution is the operational typology of Systems Crisis into two structurally distinct pathways: Type A (over-externalisation: Ω → 0 from excessive external manifestation) and Type B (internal disconnection: Ω → 0 from collapsing internal state). Each type generates structurally different early-warning signals at measurable and distinct lead times — Type A at t-24 to t-36 months, Type B at t-48 to t-72 months before crisis onset. This typological distinction is absent from existing systems models and constitutes the framework's primary falsifiable prediction.
The equilibrium index Ω(S) = 1 - |x_int(t) + x_ext(t)| provides a quantitative measure of systemic balance, with bidirectional causal hypotheses between L and Ω(S) pre-specified for longitudinal empirical testing.
