    A scoping review of risk prediction models for postoperative delirium in patients with intracranial tumors

    Objective: To conduct a scoping review of risk prediction models for postoperative delirium in patients undergoing craniocerebral tumor surgery, providing references for clinical nursing practice and future research. Methods: Five English databases (PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, CINAHL) and four Chinese databases (CNKI, Wanfang, VIP, and China Biomedical Literature Database) were searched for relevant literature on the construction or validation of risk prediction models for postoperative delirium in patients with craniocerebral tumors. The search period was from the establishment of the databases to March 1, 2026. Information on the applicable population, incidence of postoperative delirium, methodological approaches to model construction, predictive factors, and performance was extracted. The risk of bias in the studies was evaluated using the Clinical Prediction Model Bias Risk Assessment Tool. The included literature was analyzed and discussed

    The effect of personality similarity on helping

    Altruistic behavior enhances the fitness of group members while simultaneously reducing the fitness of the individual who enacts the behavior. The multilevel selection framework, derived from the Price equation, posits that the evolution of altruistic traits is facilitated when variance between groups is maximized and variance within groups is minimized. The nonrandom aggregation of individuals with similar trait values, such as altruism, is commonly referred to as positive assortment. Empirical research conducted in naturalistic community settings has demonstrated that communities characterized by a social climate in which members actively emulate one another’s prosocial traits exhibit elevated levels of intragroup altruism, as well as stronger feelings of belonging and higher overall member satisfaction. The propensity to emulate others’ positive traits is closely associated with the personality dimension of Agreeableness within the Five-Factor Model. Accordingly, this perspective yields the hypothesis that individuals are more likely to preferentially favor and assist others who possess similar levels of Agreeableness. In contrast, prior research examining the association between the frequency of everyday altruistic behavior and the Big Five personality traits has demonstrated that Openness and Extraversion are significant predictors of altruistic behavior toward strangers (Oda et al., 2014; Oda & Matsumoto-Oda, 2022). The present study aims to examine the extent to which four of the Big Five personality traits (excluding Neuroticism) in both helpers and recipients, as well as the interactions among these traits, influence helping intentions. Neuroticism was excluded because it is the only negatively valenced dimension among the five personality traits. Although high emotional stability could be considered as a conceptual counterpart, previous research involving Japanese undergraduate students indicated that hypothetical individuals characterized by high emotional stability were difficult to distinguish from those representing other personality traits, rendering emotional stability unsuitable as an experimental stimulus (Matsuki & Matsumoto, 2021)

The empirical evidence addressing preventive media effects appears highly heterogeneous in terms of methodology, studied populations, media characteristics, and outcomes.
