    No full text
Throughout history, philosophy has served as a powerful tool for understanding human identity, ethics, and social constructs. This book explores how philosophical inquiry illuminates the complexities of LGBTQ+ identities, dismantling rigid frameworks imposed by society and offering a more nuanced understanding of authenticity, morality, and existence. By weaving together historical perspectives, contemporary thought, and ethical debates, this work serves as both an intellectual discourse and a call for deeper reflection on gender and sexual diversity. Prof. Dr. Yoesoep Edhie Rachmad, Ph.D., DBA, offers a comprehensive examination of LGBTQ+ identities through the lenses of existentialism, ethics, and social philosophy. By addressing the intersection between individual autonomy and societal norms, this book critically analyzes the philosophical underpinnings of identity formation, human rights, and the evolving discourse on equality. Published in New York in 2016, it serves as an essential reference for academics, activists, and those seeking to understand the ethical dimensions of personal authenticity. The foundation of this book stems from the pressing need to bridge the gap between philosophical thought and discussions surrounding LGBTQ+ identities. Prof. Dr. Yoesoep Edhie Rachmad, Ph.D., DBA, recognized that while philosophy has long debated notions of selfhood and morality, there remains a lack of engagement in applying these discussions to contemporary gender and sexual identity issues. The work, published in New York in 2016, challenges traditional ethical paradigms and seeks to foster a more inclusive framework for understanding identity. This book examines fundamental philosophical concepts such as personal authenticity, moral responsibility, and social recognition as they pertain to LGBTQ+ identities. Prof. Dr. Yoesoep Edhie Rachmad, Ph.D., DBA, introduces perspectives from existentialist thinkers, postmodern critiques, and virtue ethics, demonstrating how these ideas shape the discourse on gender and sexual orientation. The fluidity of identity, the ethical demand for inclusivity, and the historical marginalization of LGBTQ+ communities are central themes. A significant focus of this book is on how various societal, religious, and political structures influence LGBTQ+ identity formation. Prof. Dr. Yoesoep Edhie Rachmad, Ph.D., DBA, highlights the tension between traditional moral doctrines and contemporary human rights frameworks. He explores how philosophical reasoning can be employed to critique heteronormative constructs and promote a more just understanding of identity. The work establishes philosophical principles that support a deeper appreciation of LGBTQ+ identities, including autonomy, dignity, and the ethics of care. Prof. Dr. Yoesoep Edhie Rachmad, Ph.D., DBA, provides indicators for assessing societal progress, emphasizing shifts in legal recognition, cultural acceptance, and philosophical discourse as key markers. The study is guided by critical variables such as ethical relativism, freedom of expression, and intersectionality. Prof. Dr. Yoesoep Edhie Rachmad, Ph.D., DBA, integrates these variables into an analysis of global LGBTQ+ rights movements, showcasing how philosophical engagement has influenced activism and policy reform. Cultural, historical, and psychological factors play a crucial role in shaping LGBTQ+ identities. Prof. Dr. Yoesoep Edhie Rachmad, Ph.D., DBA, explores how societal attitudes, educational frameworks, and media representation contribute to either the affirmation or suppression of diverse sexual and gender expressions. This book proposes a framework for integrating LGBTQ+ identity discussions into philosophical education, policy-making, and ethical debates. Prof. Dr. Yoesoep Edhie Rachmad, Ph.D., DBA, outlines strategies for fostering inclusive spaces where diverse identities are not only acknowledged but celebrated. Despite growing acceptance, significant obstacles remain, including institutional discrimination, philosophical resistance, and cultural biases. Prof. Dr. Yoesoep Edhie Rachmad, Ph.D., DBA, concludes that philosophy must evolve alongside social progress, embracing an ethics of inclusivity and challenging outdated paradigms. The book closes with a call to action for scholars, policymakers, and individuals to engage in meaningful dialogues that promote justice and equality. Chapter One: Introduction to the Philosophy of Identity (Page 1) A discussion on how philosophy has historically shaped our understanding of selfhood and moral agency, setting the foundation for exploring LGBTQ+ identities. No full text
Human attraction has long been a subject of philosophical, psychological, and ethical inquiry. While societies have historically framed sexual orientation within rigid structures, contemporary discourse challenges these boundaries, pushing toward a deeper understanding of desire, identity, and the human condition. This book examines the essence of attraction, moving beyond mere biological determinism to explore its ethical, existential, and cultural dimensions. Prof. Dr. Yoesoep Edhie Rachmad, Ph.D., DBA, presents an intricate philosophical investigation into the forces that shape sexual orientation, arguing that attraction is more than an instinctive response—it is a complex interplay of personal experience, social influences, and ethical considerations. The book scrutinizes historical perspectives, religious narratives, and scientific interpretations while weaving together contemporary theories of love and identity. With a keen eye for nuance, the author unpacks the moral implications of attraction, questioning whether society has the ethical foundation to impose boundaries on love. The discussion extends beyond Western frameworks, incorporating perspectives from diverse cultures and philosophical traditions to construct a broader, more inclusive understanding of sexual orientation. This comprehensive work challenges readers to rethink their assumptions about attraction, identity, and morality, offering a vision of human connection that transcends traditional limitations. Through rigorous analysis and philosophical reflection, it becomes evident that the meaning of attraction is not fixed but is instead a continuously evolving concept, shaped by both individual consciousness and collective social dynamics. Throughout history, attraction has been both a personal and political subject, shaping human relationships and societal structures. Philosophers, theologians, and scientists have debated its origins and moral significance, often framing it within rigid dichotomies. In an era of shifting social values, there is a pressing need to reexamine these perspectives. Prof. Dr. Yoesoep Edhie Rachmad, Ph.D., DBA, published this book in New York, USA, in 2015, at a time when global conversations on sexual orientation were evolving at an unprecedented pace. With legal advancements, societal acceptance, and continued resistance in many cultures, this work seeks to bridge philosophical reasoning with lived experience. Attraction is often reduced to biological instincts, but it is equally shaped by culture, psychology, and personal experience. This book challenges conventional definitions, arguing that sexual orientation is a dynamic phenomenon influenced by multiple layers of meaning. Prof. Dr. Yoesoep Edhie Rachmad, Ph.D., DBA, introduces key concepts such as fluidity in sexual orientation, the ethical dimensions of desire, and the philosophical underpinnings of human relationships. By synthesizing existentialist, feminist, and postmodern theories, the book moves beyond rigid classifications to embrace a more nuanced understanding of attraction. Contemporary society grapples with conflicting messages about attraction. While scientific research sheds light on the biological components of orientation, social constructs continue to impose limitations. Religious beliefs, legal frameworks, and cultural narratives all play a role in shaping how attraction is understood and experienced. Prof. Dr. Yoesoep Edhie Rachmad, Ph.D., DBA, examines how these elements interact, highlighting the tension between individual autonomy and societal norms. Case studies from various cultures illustrate the evolving nature of attraction and the ethical debates that accompany it. A core principle of this book is that attraction should be understood through a multidisciplinary lens. Combining philosophy, ethics, psychology, and sociology, it seeks to unravel the deeper meanings of love and orientation. The work challenges binary perspectives and advocates for a more fluid understanding of human connection. To analyze attraction comprehensively, this book identifies indicators such as emotional attachment, psychological compatibility, and ethical considerations. Prof. Dr. Yoesoep Edhie Rachmad, Ph.D., DBA, also explores how language, media representation, and historical shifts influence societal attitudes toward sexual orientation. Numerous factors shape attraction, including genetics, environment, cultural norms, and personal experiences. The book assesses how these elements interact, questioning whether attraction is a predetermined characteristic or a fluid, evolving experience. Understanding attraction requires an open dialogue between disciplines and perspectives. Prof. Dr. Yoesoep Edhie Rachmad, Ph.D., DBA, proposes an ethical framework that prioritizes individual agency while acknowledging the societal structures that influence orientation. Despite progress in understanding sexual orientation, significant challenges remain. Social prejudices, legal restrictions, and cultural stigmas continue to shape how attraction is perceived. The book acknowledges both the advancements and obstacles in achieving a more inclusive worldview. Ultimately, attraction is a dynamic, deeply personal experience that resists rigid classification. By approaching it with an open mind and philosophical rigor, humanity can move toward a more ethical and compassionate understanding of love and orientation. Prof. Dr. Yoesoep Edhie Rachmad, Ph.D., DBA, offers a vision of attraction as a complex interplay between biology, culture, and personal identity, urging society to embrace its fluid and evolving nature

The book emphasizes ethical consistency, where justice should be applied universally rather than selectively. Prof. Dr. Yoesoep Edhie Rachmad, Ph.D., DBA, argues that ethical frameworks must evolve to accommodate the realities of a diverse society while maintaining coherence with fundamental human rights. Indicators of Justice The presence of legal protections, social acceptance, and equitable policies are among the key indicators of justice explored in this book. Prof. Dr. Yoesoep Edhie Rachmad, Ph.D., DBA, assesses how nations measure up against these indicators, providing case studies on societies that have successfully integrated LGBTQ+ rights into their ethical and legal frameworks. Operational Variables The book examines legal structures, cultural attitudes, religious doctrines, and educational policies as variables that influence justice in relation to sexual orientation. Prof. Dr. Yoesoep Edhie Rachmad, Ph.D., DBA, investigates the role of advocacy, political leadership, and social movements in shaping these variables. Determining Factors Social justice is determined by a complex interplay of political will, cultural adaptability, and institutional policies. Prof. Dr. Yoesoep Edhie Rachmad, Ph.D., DBA, identifies economic stability, access to education, and international human rights frameworks as influential factors in the realization of justice. Implementation and Strategy The book presents strategic recommendations for fostering justice, including legal reforms, educational initiatives, and ethical discourses that promote inclusivity. Prof. Dr. Yoesoep Edhie Rachmad, Ph.D., DBA, highlights best practices from different societies that have navigated the complexities of balancing tradition with modern human rights standards. Challenges and Support Mechanisms Resistance from religious institutions, cultural traditions, and political structures are discussed as obstacles to justice. Prof. Dr. Yoesoep Edhie Rachmad, Ph.D., DBA, also examines the role of international bodies, advocacy groups, and progressive policies in countering these challenges. Conclusion and Summary The book concludes by reaffirming the necessity of ethical evolution in the pursuit of a just society. Prof. Dr. Yoesoep Edhie Rachmad, Ph.D., DBA, asserts that while progress has been made, the journey toward true justice remains ongoing. He calls for continued dialogue, legal advocacy, and philosophical reflection to ensure that the principles of fairness and equality are upheld for all

A Systematic Review of Artificial Intelligence Interventions for Sleep in Patients with Neurological and Neuropsychiatric Disorders

    No full text
Purpose The primary aim of the systematic review will be to synthesize the current literature on artificial intelligence (AI)-based interventions for improving sleep outcomes in individuals diagnosed with neurological or neuropsychiatric conditions, specifically excluding those with a primary diagnosis of insomnia. This will be motivated by the observation that patients with these conditions consistently experience worse sleep and have more complex needs, and that sleep medicine is an under-represented area of preventative care suitable for AI integration. Methodology The project will be conducted as a systematic review in accordance with the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Two independent reviewers (YM and JS) will conduct all stages using a double-blind method. A comprehensive electronic search will be performed across EMBASE, Medline, and PubMed using MeSH terms related to Artificial Intelligence, Sleep, and Neurological/Neuropsychiatric Conditions. Studies will be limited to English-language, peer-reviewed primary empirical research published between 2022 and November 2025, focusing on AI interventions for sleep in the target population. Data extraction will use the JBI framework, and risk of bias will be independently assessed. Expected outcomes Primary - change in objective sleep metrics (e.g., total sleep time, sleep onset latency, wake after sleep onset, sleep efficiency, sleep stages as measured by polysomnography/actigraphy/validated sensors). Secondary - subjective sleep quality (PSQI, Insomnia Severity Index), daytime sleepiness/function (Epworth Sleepiness Scale, functional scales), disease-specific clinical outcomes (seizure frequency, motor symptom severity, cognitive scores), safety/adverse events, algorithm performance metrics (accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, AUC), usability and acceptability
