They robbed you of your ticket 
To the revolution, oh, 
And then they stomped you good. 
But nothing stops you. 
You have identified yourself 
To the police as quote 
Lyric poet?what else? 
With fractured jaw. Orpheus, 
Imperishable liar! 
Your life's a poem still, 
Broken iambs and all, 
Jazz, jails?the complete works. 
And one bluesilver line 
Beyond the Antilles, 
Vanishing... All fragments. 
You who could scream across 
The square in Cuernavaca 
At a friend you hadn't seen 
For years the one word bitch, 
And turn away?that's style! 
Or this, your other voice, 
This whisper along the wires 
At night, like a dry wind, 
Like conscience, always collect.

THE JESTER 
I've heard a number of awfully unlikely things around here, 
but this time you really must be joking! It 
was pretty funny 
to find a bosom that pointed directly out, but you're going 
too far, the way your breasts point straight up! Seriously, 
that's no laughing matter anymore. That's so impressive, it's 
dignified. And seldom have I seen an ass of such standing! 
Just how does it feel to carry around a set of sceptres like 
that? Oh passing lady, ruler of my heart, in the streets, on 
the distant hills, along the nearby knoll, on the corner of 
43rd Street and Sixth Avenue, or in the poet's arms, or be 
side his elbows, under his legs and beneath his chest, if I 
smile despite all the difficulties of being it's partly because 
I know that the most efficient solution to mankind's current 
problems is the eventual and natural death of everyone on 
earth; but largely because I'm so happy that you exist and 
have always existed. Also, I always smile at ladies shaped 
any other way whatsoever; and at most men who show any 
signs of being reasonably friendly.

JIRAC DISSLEROV

you are in the water, you are swimming, and one says to 
you as your arms and legs do what arms and legs do when 
it occurs to them that they are in a watery medium: you 
are swimming samuel and he uses the name you respond 
to usually and you see it as a circle of loose letters that one 
could organize in other ways than simply samuel and you 
find that fact very friendly and inviting, indeed as pleasant 
as swimming itself can often be and as your friend calls to 
you again to tell you that you are swimming, you decide to 
ignore that description and then he says again: you 
are 
swimming samuel and you do ignore those words and you 
find that you are sinking into that watery medium and that 
it is getting harder to breathe and then you are about to 
open your mouth 
DELEIGHTFUL PIE 
the fat man eats pie. he eats pie this way 
first he takes a small bite with his fork 
then he takes a larger piece and smells it 
with his nose, then he places nose and mouth 
close to the plate and he eats deleightful 
pie quick quick quick someone is watching
