Use of concrete debris: Sub-base material for road structures

    Get PDF
Natural disasters in a very short time are capable of destroying what man has built using different types of resources, the construction of buildings, houses, etc. In their construction processes, they use different materials in a separate way that mixes and this process give them hardness and resistance to these materials. When they are destroyed they lose their individual properties and become waste; this research aims to make a study of the NEVI-12-MTOP standards, to be able to reuse the debris materials generated by the destruction of the earthquake on April 16. A bibliographic search was carried out related to the use given to waste caused by earthquakes in different countries. In the city of Portoviejo, the largest amount of debris was a concrete waste, and it can be concluded that these materials can be used as sub-base material in the road structures, so the reuse method was proposed. In particular, the characteristics of the residual materials were obtained as a result of the analysis of environmental, economic and material safety feasibility

The power plant has been created with turbine ventilator as a source of electrical energy for lighting. Voltage generator generated when wind speed between 0 m/s up to 6 m/s with no given load is between 0 volts up to 8.38 volts. Generator-generated electricity can be utilized in everyday life after going through several processes like converting the voltage from DC to AC by using a DC to AC inverter and increasing the AC voltage to a 220-volt voltage using a transformer. In this study using 5 watts LED lamp that can be used to help to light

A feasibility study for social and general facilities: Perumnas Tanjung Karang Permai Mataram

    Get PDF
The increasing number of population growth affects the emergence of problems in Perumnas Tanjung Karang Permai to be more complex, one of them is situation problem, availability of social facilities and public facilities. Thus, it is necessary to sight more in-depth of the feasibility of availability, condition, and management of social and public facilities in PERUMNAS Tanjung Karang Permai Mataram. Standardized feasibility is taken from the Regional Regulation of Mataram City No. 4 the year 2016 Article 9 saying about the provision of infrastructure by the developer at least 30% of the land area of housing and standard that is currently set by the government namely SNI 03-1733-2004 on the procedures of regional planning housing town. This study aims at identifying the level of availability, condition or capacity of social facilities and public facilities to the needs of the population seen from the population and land area of social facilities and public facilities. The existence of location mapping of Social Facilities and Public Facilities is to explain the availability and spatial aspects of the condition in Perumnas Tanjung Karang Permai Mataram. The analysis is done by comparing the number of population with the availability of social facilities and public facilities. If there is an imbalance between the availability of social facilities and public facilities with the total population, then the existing condition can be said to be inadequate

The concentration of radon gas in air-conditioned indoor: Air quality can increase the potential of lung cancer

    Get PDF
Research has been conducted on the concentration of radon gas in air quality in air-conditioned rooms that can increase the potential for lung cancer. Indoor air quality is influenced by factors such as room occupants, material buildings, equipment and furniture in the room, contamination of pollutants from the outdoor air, seasonal influences, lighting, temperature, humidity, indoor noise, and ventilation. In addition, indoor air quality can be affected by radon gas. The concentration of radon gas is relatively high compared to other natural radionuclides. It is estimated that around 55% of the radionuclide concentration in nature comes from radon gas and is the largest source of radiation received by the world population, which is around 1.3 mSv/year. Based on the Risert of the National Institute of Occupational Health and Safety (NIOSH), America in 1997 as many as 52% of respiratory diseases associated with sick building syndrome stemmed from a lack of ventilation in the room and poor AC room performance, thus increasing the potential for lung cancer. The method used in this study is to determine the physical quantity and concentration of the radiation dose of radon gas in the room. The results show that air quality in terms of temperature, humidity, and noise is significantly still in compliance with environmental health requirements according to Kepmenkes No. 1405/Menkes/SK/XI/2002. But the lighting in the room has not been significantly fulfilled. Rooms with gypsum ceilings increase radiation doses and air-conditioned rooms can accumulate radiation doses evenly in the room
