ESG and firm value: The moderating role of environmental performance and profitability in Indonesia’s mining sector
This study examines the relationship between Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance and firm value in Indonesia’s mining sector, with a focus on the moderating roles of environmental performance and profitability. ESG performance is proxied by the Sustainable Report Disclosure Index (SRDI), firm value is measured using Tobin’s Q, environmental performance is measured using the PROPER rating, and profitability is represented by Return on Assets (ROA). The research sample comprises 10 mining companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) that consistently publish sustainability reports and participate in the government’s PROPER environmental compliance rating program, observed over 4 years (2020–2023), resulting in 40 firm-year observations. The study employs panel data regression with a random effects model, based on the results of the Chow, Hausman, and Lagrange Multiplier tests. The findings reveal that ESG performance has a negative and statistically significant effect on firm value. Furthermore, profitability significantly moderates the relationship between ESG and firm value, while environmental performance does not show a moderating effect. These results suggest that investors may view ESG initiatives as costly when not supported by strong financial performance
The role of attitude towards green in mediating the effect of environmental concern and green perceived value on green purchase intention: A study of Gen Z’s behavior toward Sensatia Botanicals in Denpasar City
This study examines the mediating role of attitude towards green in the relationship between environmental concern, green perceived value, and green purchase intention. The research focuses on Generation Z’s behavior toward Sensatia Botanicals in Denpasar City, using the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) as the theoretical framework. The study adopts a quantitative, associative research design. The target population consists of Gen Z individuals in Denpasar who have never purchased Sensatia Botanicals’ eco-friendly cosmetic products. Using purposive sampling, 112 respondents were selected, and data were collected through questionnaires. Partial Least Squares (PLS)-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was employed for data analysis. Findings reveal that environmental concern, green perceived value, and attitude towards green positively and significantly influence green purchase intention. Moreover, attitude towards green partially mediates the effects of environmental concern and green perceived value on green purchase intention for Sensatia Botanicals. Theoretically, this research enriches the TPB by providing empirical insights into the relationships among key green behavioral variables. Practically, Sensatia Botanicals can strengthen its marketing strategy by creating educational campaigns emphasizing eco-friendly, functional, and emotional product benefits. Additionally, offering incentives can foster stronger emotional connections, enhance purchase intention, and build a sustainability-conscious community
Preventing domestic violence through integrated community work
This study is methodologically based on the qualitative research paradigm, with a descriptive approach. It allowed us to investigate, describe, and evaluate the prevention of domestic violence carried out by the multidisciplinary team in the community of San Justo, in the Guantánamo municipality. The participatory action research method was used to determine the level of preparation of the 12 members of the multidisciplinary team to carry out preventive work through integrated community outreach, from January to July 2025. The empirical methods used were participant observation, in-depth interviews, document review, questionnaires, and triangulation. Shortcomings were revealed in the level of integration of this group in the prevention of domestic violence. The need to enhance their training in socioemotional skills and sociopsychological resources for the most effective development of their work was noted. The viability of psychoeducational interventions was confirmed as a useful alternative for the preventive work carried out by this multidisciplinary team in addressing this social problem
Enforcement of justice in minor crimes for the establishment of law and order in Indonesia
Since crime was known in society, criminal law experts from ancient times initially considered punishment as a means of treatment (remedy) to cure perpetrators of criminal acts by giving sanctions that have a deterrent effect, so that criminals no longer repeat their actions, including for minor criminal cases. The research was conducted using the Normative Juridical research method with literature studies, with the formulation of the problem to be raised, namely (1) How is the Law Enforcement of Minor Criminal Offenses Based on Restorative Justice in Order to Create Order in the Criminal Law and Sentencing System, and a Comparison of the Legal Basis in Indonesia with the United States and Singapore? and (2) What is the Ideal Concept of Law Enforcement of Minor Criminal Offenses Based on Restorative Justice Based on Progressive Legal Theory that is Expected in the Future (Ius Constituendum)?, and it is concluded, Firstly that the enforcement of minor criminal law with Restorative Justice in order to create order in the Criminal Law and Punishment System in Indonesia still has dualism in its law enforcement by law enforcers,,,
Influence of motivation on academic learning in high school students
Motivation is of utmost importance for students' academic learning because it constitutes the starting point for learning, creates the drive to act, and makes the acquisition of significant knowledge possible. The research aimed to analyze how motivation influences the academic learning of high school students at the Dr. Gonzalo Abad Grijalva Educational Unit in Chone. The methodology began with a descriptive study with a mixed approach, linking qualitative and quantitative data obtained during the research process through the application of techniques such as surveys and interviews. The population was represented by 112 high school students and 8 tutor teachers from the Dr. Gonzalo Abad Grijalva Educational Unit. The results indicated that 62.5% of students believe that teaching methodology is one of the reasons they lose motivation when they start school. It was concluded that the main factor influencing high school students' motivation is teaching methodology, as it generates insecurity and fear of subjects. As a result, they don't pay attention or participate in class, don't complete their homework in the classroom or at home, and stop socializing with their classmates and teachers
The role of fisheries in national food security
The fisheries sector plays an important role in supporting Indonesia's national food security by providing a source of high-quality and sustainable animal protein. These findings highlight the critical role of ease of use, perceived benefits, and product quality in shaping satisfaction and fostering sustainable customer loyalty
The influence of investment decisions and financing decisions on firm value with financial performance as a mediating variable: A study on coal mining sub-sector companies in the Indonesian Capital Market
This research investigates the complex relationship between managerial decisions and firm value within the Indonesian coal mining sub-sector, motivated by the inconsistent alignment of firm value with operational performance and commodity price fluctuations. The study aims to analyze how investment decisions, financing decisions, and financial performance influence firm value. Using a quantitative approach and path analysis, the study collected 75 observations from 15 coal companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2020–2024. The findings reveal that investment decisions have no significant effect on firm value, but they do have a significant positive impact on financial performance. Conversely, financing decisions have a significant positive effect on firm value, while negatively affecting financial performance. Financial performance, in turn, has a significant positive effect on firm value and acts as a significant mediator between investment decisions and firm value. These results are consistent with Signaling Theory, Pecking Order Theory, and Trade-off Theory. The study's implications are crucial for both financial managers and investors, emphasizing that a combination of strategic investment and balanced funding, along with strong financial performance, is essential for enhancing firm value
