Business model innovation approaches: A systematic literature review

    Get PDF
The goal of this paper is to evaluate the current academic approaches in the field of business model innovation. By conducting a systematic literature review, 31 academic approaches are identified and compared using the dimensions of business model and process model. In addition, the research concentrates on organizational mindset and to what extend it is considered in current approaches. Among other findings, the research proves that all analyzed studies vary in terms of focus, level of detail and content in the perspectives of business and process model. In particular, organizational mindset is mentioned in four out of the 31 studies as an important success factor of business model innovation, whereas only one approach is dealing with organizational mindset in its process model. This indicates that overcoming the organizational mindset as a main barrier in business model innovation is not systematically integrated in any of the selected studies. In summary, the findings of this paper highlight that the current research in the field of business model innovation is not sufficient and further research has to follow. Thus, three research gaps are identified. First, the lack of level of detail concerning business and process model. Secondly, the lack of business innovation approaches for specific industries. Finally, the lack of systematic integration of organizational mindset in business model innovation approaches.O

    Get PDF
The study aims to evaluate changes in occurrence of the Mandarin Duck, Aix galericulata (Linnaeus, 1758) in the Czech Republic in 2008-2019 with focus on winter months (December, January and February) 2007/08-2018/19. Seasonal dynamics of occurrence was evaluated for years 2008-2019 by comparison of 3831 observations. The highest number of observations comes from winter period (36.7%), if we exclude data from South Moravian Region (with whole year occurrence), it is 48%. In winters 2007/08-2018/19 occurrence of 772 birds was detected, most of them with determined gender-469 males (63.4%) and 271 females (36.6%). In winter periods 2007/08-2010/11 the occurrence was concentrated in the Central Bohemian Region (Vltava river). Since the winter 2011/12 the centre of occurrence was in the South Moravian Region which is related with a formation of stable breeding population in that region. Pattern of the highest number of observations in a winter period lasts but the highest numbers of observed birds are possibly of the Czech origin.O

    No full text
The aim of this study was to analyze production and quality of semen in boars in an insemination centre. Experimental material consisted of 8,052 semen samples collected from 146 boars. During the period of 5 years, an analysis of semen parameters was conducted. The obtained data were divided according to age of boars at the time of semen collection. Results showed that boars between 8 months and 3 years of age reached higher levels of semen volume, percentage of abnormal spermatozoa and number of spermatozoa. Older boars had lower sperm concentration levels. The largest total number of spermatozoa and corrected number of spermatozoa were observed in boars between 13 and 36 months of age. Later, the production of spermatozoa decreased. Based on the results of the presented study, the age category of 13 - 36 months can be recommended to dominate in the herd of boars in the insemination centre.O

Effect of bio-enzymatic preparation on water quality in ponds and on quantity and quality of fishpond sediments

    Get PDF
The aim of this study was to evaluate the ability of a bacterial-enzymatic preparation to affect water quality, particularly the composition and the amount of sediments in ponds. The PTP Plus preparation was applied during the year 2016. For evaluation of the possible effects of the preparation, the water and sediment was compared in the growing seasons 2016 and 2017. When monitoring the sediment loss, a difference ranging from 72 to 86 mm was measured. There was an increase in the level of conductivity, alongside with an increase in the amount of calcium and chlorides in the water. In the case of the sediment, there was an increase in the amount of organic substances in the aqueous leachate and a decrease in the amount of available and total calcium. Changes of other monitored parameters were not so clear. The significant changes in water and sediment quality in the individual years of monitoring were probably more influenced by climatic conditions and significant growth of macrophytes in 2017 than by the application of the product. The expected reduction of the share of organic matter in the sediments after the application of the product has not been confirmed.O

    Get PDF
Aim of the experiment was evaluation of the effect of reduced calcium and magnesium content in the broiler chickens diet on its parameters of fattening, bone strength and calcium and magnesium content in liver. The trial was performed with cockerels of Ross 308 hybrid (n = 160) which were fattened in cage batteries from day 11th to 36th day of age. Cockerels were divided into 4 groups (differ in various intake levels of calcium and magnesium) in four replications. The maize-wheat-soybean basal diet contained 2.33 g Ca and 1.58 g Mg per kilogram. Calcium was added by CaCO3 and magnesium by MgSO4. Control group (C) received feed mixture with added CaCO3 in dose of 19.49 g.kg-1 and 0.41 g.kg-1 of MgSO4. Three experimental groups contain added CaCO3 in dose of 11.83 g.kg-1 and 0 g.kg-1 MgSO4 (group Exp1); CaCO3 11.83 g.kg-1 and 0.41 g.kg-1 MgSO4 (group Exp2); CaCO3 19.49 g.kg-1 and 0 g.kg-1 MgSO4 (group Exp3), respectively. The feed consumption was daily monitored and the cockerels were weighed twice a week. At the end of the study the experimental animals were weighted and slaughtered by decapitation. The weight of carcasses, liver and proportion of breast and thigh muscle was determined in the selected chickens (n = 24). The atomic absorption spectrometry was used for Ca and Mg evaluation in liver tissues. Bone strength parameter was measured at the femur bone. The statistically significant differences (p >0.05) were not detected between control and experimental groups in the case of studied parameters of fattening, bone strength and calcium and magnesium content in the chicken's liver. Based on the obtained results it could be concluded the reduction of determined elements in the chicken diet did not deteriorate parameters of yield, elements content in liver tissue as well as the bone strength of broiler chickens.O

    Get PDF
Using the Excel programme a database was created of 332 horses born at the horse breeding station (ŠCHK) - Měník after 1 August 1993. The database was transferred to the Unistat 6.5 programme and by means of the linear model GLM evaluated were some effects on horse performance in the horse breeding station (ŠCHK) - Měník. For the evaluation of breeding activities we selected a few important effects on the herd, i.e. sex, father (line), mother (family) and year of birth. For each horse of the database we identified the basic measurements, results from the score on entry into the studbook and performance tests. The database included a total of 15 homogeneous families and their numerous offspring. The following stallions influenced the herd: 366 Taarlo, 616 Erudit, 2626 Sahib Kubišta, 525 Tarlo Kubišta, 1004 First Bride, 2805 Le Patron, 630 Przedswit Makebo, 1028 Manillon Rouge and 2640 Radegast. Rating based on the variable score on entry into the studbook and the basic performance test was statistically the highest in 1994. In dependence on the basic performance test the rating of stallion 1028 Manillon Rouge was the highest with an average of 7.8 scores. The families Forma and Gama S reached the statistically significantly highest scores for the dependent variables of the testing rearing house and heart girth. The mares have a statistically significantly larger heart girth than the stallions. Stallion 2640 Radegast had a bone diameter of 22 cm which was statistically significantly the highest rating; stallion 616 Erudit had the lowest rating.O

The addition of simple biological filters of different capacity to semi-recirculating fish rearing system and its effects

    Get PDF
Aquaculture is currently one of the fastest growing food-producing sectors, accounting for around 50 % of the world fs food fish production. Limited resources, together with climatic change, have stimulated the search for solutions to support and sustain the production of fish as a source of protein for human consumption. The integration of a biological filtration (BF) into a semi-recirculating fish rearing system can increase its carrying capacity and increase system efficiency compared to its f energy consumption with minimum changes of system composition and minimal costs. Question is the capacity of the BF installed to a system and how it affects water quality. Two different amounts of BF media (surface) added to semi-recirculating rearing system compared with the same system without BF were tested in case of this study. The results have shown that if the BF capacity is insufficient, BF can have negative effects to the quality of water environment. The insufficient amount of BF media caused 4 times reduction of ammonia nitrogen (N-NH4 +) in system with BF compared to non BF system so it increased the system capacity for feed load 4 times. On the other hand it also increased nitrite nitrogen concentrations permanently more than 5.8 times for BF system compared to non BF system and increased rearing costs because the need of adding chlorides to the system to protect fish from nitrites toxicity. When the BF was dimensioned properly (next year) there were almost no N-NH4 + in a system (0.10 mg.l-1) and the concentration of N-NO2 - was kept at low levels too (0.150 mg .l-1). The nitrates (N.NO3-) concentration reached the level of 5.37 and 8.65 mg.l-1 in 2012 and 2013 respectively.O

The probability of default under ifrs 9: Multi-period estimation and macroeconomic forecast

    Get PDF
In this paper we propose a straightforward, flexible and intuitive computational framework for the multi-period probability of default estimation incorporating macroeconomic forecasts. The concept is based on Markov models, the estimated economic adjustment coefficient and the official economic forecasts of the Czech National Bank. The economic forecasts are taken into account in a separate step to better distinguish between idiosyncratic and systemic risk. This approach is also attractive from the interpretational point of view. The proposed framework can be used especially when calculating lifetime expected credit losses under IFRS 9.O

Rural Tourism - Evaluating the Quality of Destination

    Get PDF
This paper concerns the topic of rural destination quality from the viewpoint of tourism development. The research exploring crucial quality factors from the viewpoint of demand is presented. Rural tourism participants attribute the highest significance to Destination cleanliness and Sense of security. The evaluation of the importance of most research quality factors is not dependent on genderand on the contrary, the importance of 16 quality factors depends on the visitor s age. In the case of the factor of "Friendly acceptance by the locals", the most significant influence on the visitor s return to the destination was confirmed. On the contrary, this impact was not proven for the factor of "Level of prices of services and goods in the destination". The research and the successive factor analysis revealed 6 dimensions representing the rural destination quality: Services, Image, Transportation, Well-being, Information/Communication and Attractions/Experiences; Well-being was identified as the most important. This was consecutively confirmed by the analysis of the quality factors' impact on the visitor s overall satisfaction and loyalty to the destination. The research findings provide the theory with topical destination quality dimensions as well as contribute to better understanding of visitor s behavioural mechanisms in rural areas.O

    Get PDF
Our work was focused on the study of the antioxidant properties of grapevine seeds. We monitored the grapevine seeds of 6 cultivars of Vitis vinifera, L. (Nativa, Kofranka, Blaufränkish, Marlen, Cabernet Moravia and Italian Riesling). Antioxidant activity was determined by three principally different methods (DPPH, ABTS and FRAP), the content of the total polyphenolic compounds was determined by the Folin ciocalteu method, and the content of the total flavanols was determined by DMACA reagent (p-dimethylaminocinnamaldehyde). Results are presented as an equivalent of gallic acid in g.L-1, respectively were expressed as g.L-1 of catechin equivalents (DMACA method). The highest values of antioxidant activity were measured in the cultivar Nativa (DPPH - 7.75 g.L-1, ABTS - 4.888 g.L-1, FRAP - 4.25 g.L-1). Conversely, the lowest values of antioxidant activity were detected in the cultivar Kofranka (DPPH - 7.08 g.L-1, ABTS - 4.17 g.L-1, FRAP - 4.55 g.L-1). Cultivar Nativa also reached the highest content of flavonols (3.77 g.L-1). The highest measured values of the content of total polyphenolic compounds were identified in the cultivar Cabernet Moravia (15.2 g.L-1 of GAE). Conversely, the lowest values of the content of total polyphenolic compounds were detected in the cultivar Nativa (8.04 g.L-1). Pearson correlation coefficients were calculated for the existing values between antioxidant activity (DPPH, ABTS, FRAP), contents of flavonols, and contents of total polyphenols. The highest correlation coefficient was found between the DPPH and ABTS methods; specifically, it was 0.857.O
