Work Training, Workplace Relationships, Workload and Job Performance
Get PDFThis study explores the optimization of job performance by examining the interplay of work training, workplace relationships, and workload within the dynamic setting of a call center. The overarching goal is to gain a holistic understanding of how these three elements collectively contribute to fostering a positive impact on workforce productivity. Utilizing a descriptive survey method, the research employed a questionnaire to systematically collect data on the perceived positive effects associated with work training, workplace relationships, and workload on job performance. Following data collection, thorough analysis and interpretation were conducted to derive meaningful insights. To assess the significance of differences between the factors influencing job performance, a one-way ANOVA was applied. The study aimed to shed light on several key aspects, including the dynamics of the work environment concerning the identified factors affecting job performance, the levels of agreement among respondents regarding these factors, significant differences in responses, and implications for improvements. In conclusion, the study highlights that work training, workplace relationships, and workload positively influence job performance, as evidenced by responses from call center agents. However, it is noteworthy that all three factors were rated one level below the highest possible classification, underscoring the need for targeted interventions. Significant differences in ratings were identified among work training, workplace relationships, and workload. All three factors were considered for intervention, with a particular emphasis on workload, which received the lowest rating. This prioritization sets the groundwork for strategic improvements to elevate overall job performance in the call center environment
Utilization of Teacher-Made Learning Activity Sheets as a Tool in Improving Learners’ Numeracy Skills: An Action Research
Get PDFDeveloping learners’ numeracy skills has been a pressing issue in the field of education, as it is one of the battlecries of the agency along with literacy. Studies revealed that addressing these learning gaps varies widely across schools, classrooms, and learners. Moreover, students learn better through the activities that their teachers provide to them. Thus, under the Mathematics Foundation Fluency Program, a numeracy intervention program of Langkaan II National High School, teacher-made learning activity sheets were used as learning materials of the learners under numeracy intervention. The objective of this study is to determine the effectiveness of utilizing teacher-made learning activity sheets in improving the numeracy skills of the learners particularly in Langkaan II National High School. The findings of the study will serve as a help in improving the numeracy intervention program of the school.
The results revealed that there was a marked improvement in the numeracy skills of the learners as manifested in the improved scores of the learners during the post-test. Moreover, no non-numerates were reported during the end-of-the-school year numeracy assessment. Thus, using the teacher-made learning activity sheets were found to be an effective tool in improving the numeracy skills of the learners including number sense, number operations, measurement, geometry, patterns and algebra, and statistics and probability. It helped the students to cope up certain topic/lessons in basic mathematics that develops their numeracy skills. These materials can contribute to a more comprehensive program to improve the numeracy skills of the learners. Further studies may also be conducted as to other aspects relevant to the implementation of the whole program. Validation or modification of these learning materials may also be conducted for further enhancement
Influence of Color Psychology on Consumer Behavior among Business Students
Get PDFNeuromarketing, a rapidly expanding field, utilizes brain-based techniques to understand and shape consumer behavior. Recently, there has been a surge in the popularity of neuromarketing techniques, supported by research indicating their substantial impact on consumer behavior. Notably, color psychology has emerged as a prominent area within neuromarketing. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between color psychology and its impact on consumer behavior among business students of a university in Cebu City. A quantitative correlational approach was employed, and data were collected from business students responding to Likert survey questionnaires distributed electronically. To achieve the study objectives, descriptive analysis and Pearson\u27s Correlation Coefficient were used to ensure a comprehensive evaluation of the data. The findings revealed a high level of awareness among the respondents, with "Pink" and "White" colors demonstrating strong associations. In contrast, "Purple" and "Brown" colors exhibited lower influence. Further analysis demonstrated significant relationships between the perceived level of color psychology in advertising, awareness level, and consumer buying behavior. The study established a strong positive correlation between color preferences, awareness levels, brand recall, and consumer behavior among business students
Application of a Learning Model Based on Scientific Literacy to Improve Reasoning Ability Students\u27 Critical Thinking
No full textThe purpose of this study was to apply a scientific literacy-based learning model to improve students\u27 critical thinking reasoning abilities in class X SMA Negeri 3 Pematangsiantar. The method used in this study is a Quasi Experimental Design quantitative research method. The results of the study show that the application of scientific literacy-based learning models can improve students\u27 critical thinking reasoning abilities. The hypothesis in this study is that there is an increase in students\u27 critical thinking reasoning abilities in class X SMA Negeri 3 Pematangsiantar. Based on the results of calculations using the t test, it can be concluded that the hypothesis is accepted, namely t_count of 6.217 greater than ttable of 2.002. The results of this study are expected to be useful for related parties such as teachers and further researchers
Sustainable Micro-Social Enterprises in India: A Quantitative Study of Crucial Factors Leading to Their Financial Sustainability
Get PDFSocial enterprises strive to create social value by providing innovative solutions to various socio-economic and developmental problems. Given the harsh economic terrain, the key question is how these organizations traverse the path to financial sustainability to fulfil their social mission. Thus often challenged to either change scope or shut down. There is a dearth of research on micro-social enterprises and their strategies for financial sustainability. This study gathered data through an online survey platform from 121 social enterprises, which were more than 3 years of age based in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Further, crucial insights were obtained by analyzing this data using two statistical software: Jamovi and PROCESS Macro of SPSS for serial mediation. The findings demonstrate that growth orientation positively and significantly influences financial sustainability, both directly, and indirectly through; product & service innovation, social capital and external funding, which was observed individually and in serial mediation. Thus revealing that all these factors have partial mediation on financial sustainability. However, the influence of growth orientation with all these factors is way higher than it does individually. There are several crucial paths for financial sustainability, however, the most crucial one is when growth orientation is in tandem with product & service innovations. By harnessing the synergies between growth-oriented strategies and intermediary variables, social enterprises can navigate challenges, seize opportunities, and advance their dual mission of financial sustainability as well as their social mission
Reading Partnership between Challenged and Knowledgeable (Repack) Read-ers to Improve Performance: PROJECT REPACK
No full textReading has been capitalized in the education process. It has been put premium in the context of the learning recovery as the return of in-person of classes is observed. This action research aimed to examine the reading performance level of Grade One pupils of Camiing Elementary School before and after the employment of project RePACK (Reading Partnership between Challenged and Knowledgeable). This study further determined the aspects of the introduced intervention that facilitated their reading performance. The participants of the study were the 45 Grade one pupils of Camiing Elementary School School of Schools Division of Zambales in the school year 2022-2023. The data were gathered through a mixed method. The qualitative part employed thematic analysis to interpret the transcribed interviews. On the other hand, the quantitative one-group pretest-post-test design used the mean and paired sample t-test to measure the reading performance of the learners in the phases of treatment. The analysis of how the project RePACK facilitate their reading performance has emerged into two themes: availability of learning support, and access to reading resources. The level of learners’ oral word recognition in the pre-intervention was found frustration and instructional in the post-intervention. Similarly, there was a leaped in progression of the reading comprehension of the leaners where they were marked frustration in the pre-test and independent in the post-test. Notably, there is a significant difference in the learners’ reading performance level before and after the intervention. This outcome suggests that the project RePACK is effective in improving the reading performance of the learners. In this regard, school heads, teachers, and students are encouraged to adopt the intervention because of its efficacy
Assessment of Waste Management Awareness and Practices among Par-ents: A Sequential Explanatory Study
Get PDFThis study explores parents’ awareness and practices on solid waste management. It shows the significance of solid waste segregation for parental involvement and how it influences parents\u27 attitudes and behaviors in a barangay in Magalang, Pampanga. The parents benefit from this study by learning more about the practices and appropriate segregation within their community. In this study, which involved 100 parents, a mixed-method sequential explanatory technique was employed. The results indicate that parents are not aware of the relevant laws about solid waste management and the sources of information about it. In terms of practices, parents are productive at disposing of, reducing, and recycling solid waste, but they don\u27t reuse and segregate the solid waste that much. Overall, the results highlight how crucial proper waste sorting, awareness-building, community involvement, resourcefulness, and sustainability are to improve waste management. Although there are challenges, such as a lack of awareness and inconsistent efforts, recycling and waste removal are mentioned as sources of satisfaction. Parents also emphasize the need for proper segregation, solid waste management regulations, and providing incentives to promote sustainable behaviors in the barangay
Parental Involvement in Curricular Performance of Students at Risk
Get PDFParental involvement plays an important role in the academic performance of at-risk learners facing educational challenges. However, many parents struggle to contribute effectively due to various challenges, such as limited educational backgrounds, busy schedules, and personal commitments. This study aims to describe the parental involvement in the academic performance of at-risk learners, specifically focusing on involvement, success, and support within the school. This study uses a Mixed-methods sequential explanatory design. The study involves quantitative analysis supplemented by qualitative insights obtained through standardized questionnaires and interviews. Purposive sampling was employed to select 50 parents as respondents, while 8 participants were chosen using a homogeneous sampling technique to represent outliers. Results indicate that active parental involvement positively improves academic outcomes, including behavior, attendance, and grades. Conversely, learners with less engaged parents tend to show limited progress in their academic performance. Lack of financial resources poses significant challenges, but scholarships lessen burdens, ensuring access to education for all. This study underscores the importance of parental support beyond academics, creating helpful learning environments, and fostering strong development. Understanding parental challenges can enhance strategies to improve learners’ behavior and academic performance. Overall, parental involvement is an important factor in promoting academic success and preparing learners for future opportunities
Service Quality, Patient Satisfaction, and Improvement Indicators
Get PDFThe study delves into the intricate symbiotic relationship between service providers and customers, which becomes increasingly complex amid competitive landscapes. It counts on the service provider’s capability to deliver exceptional service that fosters a unique customer satisfaction that not only encourages repeat patronage but also prompts referrals to others. The study sought to determine the presence of a correlation between the quality of service delivered by medical staff and patients\u27 satisfaction levels by using the SERVQUAL model with 22 slightly modified indicators spread across five service quality dimensions that include reliability, assurance, tangibles, empathy, and responsiveness. The research was conducted within the confines of a hospital in Cebu. 314 patisents consented to participate in the data collection process. A survey was conducted to gather data on service delivery and another was conducted for patient satisfaction. Multiple regression analysis and Dublin-Watson test were used to compute correlations and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was used to compute the significance of difference. The following items are the findings. The five dimensions of service quality are above average and the service quality rating in its entirety was 3.756. Patient satisfaction was above average with a rating of 3.131. All the service quality dimensions were statistically correlated with patient satisfaction. Service quality in its entirety was statically correlated with patient satisfaction. There was a significant difference between service quality in its entirety and patient satisfaction. Finally, the ratings suggest that improvements were needed in all service dimensions, and because of high patient expectations improvements are both necessary and urgent
A Heart of Service: Discovering the Lived Experiences of Special Education Teachers Using Skill-Based Learning in Cebu City
Get PDFSpecial education (SPED) learners often struggle in learning due to the curriculum and limited resources despite the awareness of the value of education globally. In the Philippines, inclusive education for all learners, especially for learners with special needs has yet to be delved deeper, hence, this study provides an exploration of the lived experiences of SPED teachers using skill-based learning to understand their perspectives of the participants on how this learning approach can help SPED learners acquire the skills needed for independence. Husserl’s descriptive phenomenological research design was used to describe the meaning of the lived experiences of the five SPED teachers using skill-based learning from Cebu City, Philippines. A semi-structured interview schedule served as the primary data collection instrument, supplemented by a focus group discussion to ensure data saturation. Colaizzi’s method of descriptive analysis was used to analyze the transcriptions, identifying key experiences, challenges, coping mechanisms, and meanings of teaching skill-based learning to SPED learners. Four major themes emerged from the analysis: Fulfillment in Teaching; Limited Resources, Parental Involvement, and Adjustment; Planning, Preparation, and Communication; and Emphasis on Practical Skills. Despite challenges, teaching SPED students could be fulfilling with passion and perseverance. The researchers recommend advocating for increased funding and programs to support SPED teachers in effectively implementing skill-based learning
