Impact of Community Outreach Programs of Taguig City Police Station Community Affairs Development Division: Basis for a Capacity Development Plan
This study will assess the impact of the outreach programs that are implemented by the Community Affairs Development Division (CADD) of the Taguig City Police Station as relates to peace and order, intelligence collection, image of the police, effectiveness at resolution of crimes among many others. Several reasons are cited for conducting studies like the above ones and these include evaluation of the effectiveness of programs and the establishment of areas that require improvements. Information was collected from barangay officials, CADD personnel, and their auxiliary members using a quantitative research design comprised of surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions. It was discovered that outreach benefited the police reputation, intelligence gathered, the ability to solve crimes, in general, the maintenance of public order, through stronger police-community partnerships and raised sentiments of safety. Nevertheless, the shortcoming of the program was also commended just as much as very poor communication between the police and the community members and very few of they in intelligence gathering. In accordance with the query of the effectiveness of the programs, there was no statically significant difference between the categories of the respondents, both showing that programs are helpful. But resources, which have been identified to be challenged in the CADD outreach programs, relate to resource management, diversity of skills, communication with partner agencies, and availability of the venue, allocation of the budget, financial support on constant basis, and inter-agency cooperation to name the few. In this context, the report on \u27Partnerships between Law Enforcement and Local CADD Agencies\u27 observes, The CADD outreach programs have greatly reduced the problem in relation to the concerns of both public safety and the relation of the law enforcement agency with the community. There will be improved diversification of skills and competence levels, effective utilization of the resources, good communication means, and proper housing. All this with increased budget allocations, regular financial help and strengthening links with other agents
Influence of Bio-Stimulant to Rooting and Biomass of Sugarcane Setts at Pre-Tillering Stage
Sugarcane is an important crop in the Philippines planted throughout the country but is most abundant in the Visayas and particularly on Negros Island. This study aims to determine the effect of the application of different concentrations of bio-stimulant on enhancing root and biomass accumulations at the pre-tillering stage of the sugarcane plant. The study was conducted at the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos School of Agriculture, Philippines last December 6, 2023, to February 6, 2024. One hundred pieces of two-eyed cane points of RC-88 were used as planting materials. Soaking the cane points in water was done for 24 hours. Thereafter they were removed from water and air-dried for 30 minutes. The bio-stimulant was prepared before the application based on the study protocol. The bio-stimulant was diluted in distilled water and applied at the base of the plant using a measuring cup for even distribution. Regular monitoring for the presence of pests/diseases was done including watering. There were five (5) treatments, replicated four (4) times using Complete Randomized Design (CRD). Statistical analysis revealed that most of the characteristics of sugarcane plants significantly correlated with roots and biomass accumulation when applied with different levels of concentrations of bio-stimulant concentration at the pre-tillering stage of sugarcane. The use of 500ml Bio-stimulant significantly influenced the germination, tiller height, weight of tillers, weight of roots, length of roots, and biomass. This study recommends the use of 500ml bio-stimulant in enhancing the rooting and biomass accumulation of sugarcane setts at pre-tillering stage
Comparative Analysis of Reddit Posts and ChatGPT-Generated Texts’ Linguistic Features: A Short Report on Artificial Intelligence’s Imitative Capabilities
In recent years, the unprecedented explosion of artificial intelligence (AI), particularly generative AI, has dramatically and drastically altered many human fields, posing queries about how generative AI can imitate human language. Given the newness of generative AI as a controversial phenomenon, there is an urgency to closely examine how its linguistic outputs could mimic human language produced in natural contexts. Hence, in this short report, we discuss the observed similarities and differences in the linguistic features of the subreddit r/Marriage spouse appreciatory posts and ChatGPT-4 outputs. These results were the offshoot of our genre analysis on these two linguistic data sets. Our analysis revealed that ChatGPT-4 generated texts contain impeccable grammar, while the Reddit appreciatory posts have grammatical discrepancies, such as errors in subject-verb agreement, improper punctuation marks, and erroneous capitalization; ChatGPT-4 generated texts have more complex syntactical structure; Reddit dataset utilized more internet jargon, slang, and profanities and seems to be unpredictable and arbitrary in terms of textual length; and ChatGPT-4 outputs appear to overuse emojis while underuse emoticons and tend to use these digital linguistic elements without regard to their proper contexts. In light of these results, we claim that AI-generated texts, although they can mimic human language, this is on a mere surface level, and a closer inspection could uncover distinct variations. We recommend that future studies use more comprehensive and different datasets and continuously employ comparative and contrastive linguistic analysis to further investigate AI’s imitative capabilities
Student Authentication in eAssessments Using Online Proctored Exam System: Accounting Educator Views in Fiji
With the advancement in eLearning technologies, eAssessments are becoming widely used. The overarching challenge in eAssessment is student authentication.
