Teacher’s Workload in Relation to Burnout and Work Performance
Teaching is a rewarding yet demanding profession. While it brings immense joy when teachers experience fulfillment from achieving their goals, the wide range of responsibilities it entails can lead to exhaustion. This descriptive-correlational study explored the relationship between teachers\u27 workloads, burnout levels, and work performance of permanent elementary school teachers from the Masinloc District, Division of Zambales. Using standardized instruments and the teachers’ Individual Performance Commitment and Review Form (IPCRF) ratings, data gathered were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings showed that teachers reported a high perception of work/role overload and experienced significant burnout, particularly regarding career satisfaction and attitudes toward students. Moreover, a strong positive relationship was found between burnout levels and work/role overload. Despite these challenges, teachers maintained high performance, which can be attributed to their dedication and commitment to their profession
Mandalas as a Source of Self-Expression
The article is a presentation of the meaning and characteristics of mandalas that derive from Sanskrit symbolism. The Kabbalistic overtones of their compositions intrigued early psychoanalysts. They have been assimilated to treat and calm patients suffering from neurosis, psychosis, depression. They were seen as expressive, diagnostic and therapeutic. The article presents different views on the values and effects of the use of mandalas in education, relaxation and therapy. Due to the lack of scientific premises for use, relaxation use is encouraged during rehabilitation, after-school and speech therapy classes. A substantive approach to the subject encourages the search for applications in education in various fields, but this requires undertaking scientific research and verification of applications. The article is an exhaustive analysis of the literature on the use of mandalas
Stereotypes in Families: Parents’ Gender Characters and Youngsters’ Aspirations
The study’s main purpose is to determine the impact of parents’ beliefs and behavior to the professional aspirations of their children. The present study specifically pursued answers to the subsequent questions: (1) What is the status of gender stereotypes in families of students at Bulacan State University-Bustos Campus?; (2) What is the percentage of parents’ gender characters toward their children? And (3) What is the impact of parents’ beliefs and behavior in their children’s professional aspirations? This study used a descriptive study that used a questionnaire to collect relevant data. The results show that (1) Even though there are parents who decide about the career path of their children, there are parents who let their children decide about their professional aspirations; (2) The key influence on the development of gender stereotyping in early life is parents\u27 conduct towards their offspring, which is the primary influence on the development of gender role stereotyping in early life. The socialization process of children is influenced by parents providing a helpful setting within the family for them to engage in face-to-face interactions with their children; and (3) It is essential for a child to make this decision themselves. Choosing a profession helps kids become more independent. Children who are given the opportunity to make a decision that will affect their future will become more confident and reliant on themselves
Assessment of Bangus Culture Livelihood Project in Libmanan, Camarines Sur, Philippines
The study assessed the bangus culture as the key livelihood initiative of the FishCORAL project of BFAR-V covering the coastal barangays in Libmanan, Camarines Sur. The assessment focused on identifying the enterprise\u27s inputs, outputs, and outcomes and its economic and social impacts on the project beneficiaries. Interviews, focus group discussions, desk reviews, and field surveys were employed to evaluate the project achievements, including using an adopted model for monitoring and evaluation. Descriptive analysis and mixed methods were applied to data analysis.
Five associations take turns running the livelihood enterprise through the circular sea cage located at Barangay Bahao. The beneficiaries encountered challenges, such as the high cost of fuel used in going to and from the project site, especially those coming from far barangays; commercial markets were not yet considered for the product due to insufficient volume of harvest; and the association\u27s need guidance in leadership and business management. Typhoons affected the project during its initial operation. Still, since the household size of the beneficiary families is primarily tiny, it is easier for them to sustain the family\u27s basic needs with incomes from fishing and other alternative sources. The fishing households share the livelihood assets available in the community. The project achievements met the criteria for relevance, coherence, availability, and perceived utility viz-a-viz the business objectives. Recommended measures, organizational capability, support systems, and internal disagreements must be addressed to sustain the Bangus culture livelihood project
Exploring The Values and Practices Through Filipino Family Types among Grade 7 Students
This research delves into the intricate dynamics of Filipino family types, DepEd core values, and Filipino family practices. In the Philip-pines, family structures have undergone significant transformations over the years. Traditional Filipino family structures, deeply rooted in cultural heritage and communal ties, have coexisted alongside the emergence of modern family structures influenced by urbanization, globalization, and shifting societal norms. Understanding the impact of these family structures on individuals, particularly students, is an area ripe for exploration. The found a positive correlation between nuclear families and ad-herence to DepEd values and practices. Extended families show a posi-tive correlation with pro-environmental attitudes, while single-parent families exhibit mixed results, including a negative correlation with cultural preservation. The study\u27s significance lies in its contribution to understanding Filipino family dynamics and its potential to positively impact Filipino society by promoting cultural understanding and stronger family relationships. This study\u27s significance lies in its contribution to understanding Filipino family dynamics, offering insights for future research, and promoting cultural understanding and stronger family relationships. It holds the potential to positively impact Filipino society by enriching educational experiences and fostering a deeper appreciation for diverse family structures and cultures
Optimizing Call Center Productivity through Key Work Environment Factors
This study aims to enhance productivity by fostering a business environment where workers can thrive, similar to a well-functioning ecosystem. It investigates whether factors such as workers\u27 aptitude, training, tools and technology, workload, workplace relationships, working conditions, employee well-being, and satisfaction with compensation positively impact productivity. The study focused on call center agents in Cebu Province, Philippines, with an estimated population of 200,000. Using a Cochran calculation, a sample size of 384 respondents was determined, accounting for a 5% margin of error and a 95% confidence level. Due to challenges in reaching participants, convenience sampling was employed, yielding 385 completed surveys, exceeding the minimum required. Data was collected through a descriptive survey with simple, close-ended questions, validated by call center agents and demonstrating high reliability (Cronbach’s alpha of 0.967). The weighted mean for each predictor and the dependent variable was calculated, and linear regression analyses examined the relationships between predictors and productivity. Additionally, ANOVA within the context of linear regression assessed the significance of these relationships. The findings revealed that the eight identified predictor variables collectively received an average score of 3.277 out of 4.0 from call center agents. All eight predictors—employee aptitude, work training, tools and technology, workload, satisfaction with compensation, employee well-being, working conditions, and workplace relationships—were significant indicators of productivity and explained a portion of the variance in the dependent variable. These results emphasize the need to enhance activities and policies related to all predictor variables, as each significantly impacts productivity. Notably, working conditions and job training received the highest ratings, indicating strong employee satisfaction in these areas. However, urgent attention is needed in addressing employee well-being and satisfaction with compensation, which received the lowest ratings
The Effect of School Heads\u27 Style in The Utilization of Online Communica-tion in Building Positive Organizational Culture
School leaders at all levels play an essential role in shaping school culture. In their daily work, principals communicate core values. Teachers instill values through their actions and words. Parents boost their spirits by visiting schools, participating in governance, and celebrating success. Communication with internal and external stakeholders is part of the school head\u27s daily work. A day is incom-plete unless there is communication between teaching and non-teaching personnel at the school. Thus, this study used the descrip-tive correlational design to determine if the school head\u27s communi-cation style mediates the effect of the utilization of online communi-cation in building a positive organizational culture. The respondents were the 65 school heads and 349 teachers from the 7 districts in the Division of San Pablo City. The validated survey questionnaire was used to gather the data. The data were analyzed using frequen-cy, mean, standard deviation, Pearson product-moment correlation, and multiple linear regression. The results revealed that the school heads and teachers perceived that the level of school heads\u27 utiliza-tion of online communication, school head communication style in utilizing online communication, and building a positive organiza-tional culture were highly manifested. The test of correlation be-tween the school heads utilization of online communication in building a positive organizational culture is significant. The school heads’ utilization of online communication affects building a posi-tive organizational culture. The school head\u27s communication style mediates the school head\u27s utilization of online communication in building a positive organizational culture in terms of being a super-visor, and manager. The study recommends that the school should always capacitate teachers using various online platforms as inter-net communication has been a part of the system ever since the pandemic
Critical Performance Roles of School Heads and Teachers\u27 Collaboration in Public School
The study aimed to determine the critical performance roles among school heads and teachers’ collaboration in public schools. A quantita-tive descriptive correlation research design was used and the modified standardized survey instrument based on Total Leaders 2.0 by Spady (2010) was utilized in the 31 public schools with 538 teachers, school heads, and principals serving as the respondents. The test of the signif-icant difference between the assessment of the school heads and teach-ers as to critical performance roles among school heads indicates there is no significant relationship between groups and within groups by schools. There is a significant difference between the assessment of the school heads and teachers as to teachers’ collaboration. The perceived level of assessment of school heads and teachers as to teachers’ collabo-ration noted a significant. There is a significant relationship between the level of manifestation of critical leadership performance roles among school heads level of manifestation of teachers’ collaboration. Finally, the level of manifestation of critical leadership performance roles among school heads singly or in combination does not significant-ly explain the level of manifestation of teachers’ structural collabora-tion. The results show that critical performance roles positively pre-dicted Instructional Programs and Interpersonal Collaboration than in and of other variance
