Emotional Intelligence and Conflict Management Strategies among Junior and Senior Uniformed Personnel in Philippine National Police
Get PDFThis study aimed to determine the emotional intelligence and conflict management strategies among junior and senior uniformed personnel of Philippine National Police. This study employed the use of descriptive comparative research design utilizing survey methodology. Research locale was limited Cavite. The respondents were the 50 junior uniformed personnel and 50 senior uniformed personnel in the locale of the study and were selected using random sampling technique. The research instrument in this study was a survey questionnaire adopted from Galman (2021). Data were analyzed using percentage, mean, rank order and One Way Analysis of Variance.
The study reveals that senior uniformed personnel have higher emotional intelligence and conflict resolution skills compared to younger personnel. Senior personnel have a better understanding of their own emotions and others\u27, and can better manage stress. They also employ more effective conflict resolution tactics. The study suggests that age and experience may influence emotional intelligence and conflict resolution. The study suggests that company culture can impact conflict management and emotional intelligence. It\u27s crucial to tailor conflict management tactics to each age group and provide training to enhance emotional intelligence. Emphasizing these differences can help foster a more efficient professional environment among uniformed staff
Deployment and Evaluation of ChromeOS
Get PDFThis paper aims to deploy the Google ChromeFlex Operating System and evaluate its efficiency. It uses a deep learning algorithm that analyzes all results from other users with the same browser type and on the same OS. This provides a meaningful evaluation of the computer unit\u27s stressed components, including CPU, GPU, Memory, and Storage. Findings reveal that ChromeFlex OS works efficiently when the computer is connected online. Furthermore, GPU performance in ChromeFlex OS is lower in applications requiring graphics-related work like effects and videos. Using ChromeFlex OS on computer units used for daily tasks using Internet-based applications is recommended. ChromeFlex OS is a new operating system with limited compatibility, and most productivity tools compatible with old operating systems, such as Windows OS, MAC OS, and LINUX, among others, will not run in ChromeFlex OS
Unveiling the Confidence of Criminology Practitioners: Delving on Research Knowledge and Attitude
Get PDFThis study aims to investigate the level of confidence among criminology practitioners in their research knowledge and attitudes towards research. By examining both aspects, the study seeks to understand how these factors influence overall confidence in engaging with and applying research findings. Furthermore, this descriptive study explores whether there is a significant difference between practitioners\u27 confidence levels related to their research knowledge and their attitudes towards research. Understanding these dynamics is crucial for enhancing the integration of research into criminology practice, thereby improving the effectiveness of interventions and policies. The study utilized a descriptive design having 128 qualified respondents using purposive sampling that answered the self-made questionnaire. Result shows that among the practitioner, academicians have higher level of confidence in terms of research knowledge and attitude. There is a significant difference between the level of confidence relative to research knowledge and attitude. Likewise, the research knowledge of the criminology practitioners has positive relationship among the scope of practice. Hence, the findings suggest that in order to improve the research culture within the field of criminology, a professional development plan might be created to address and cater to all criminology practitioners within the discipline, with guidelines based on the scope of practice under RA 11131
Effects of the Technology-Enhanced Lessons in Optics (TELO) on the Academic Performance of Grade 10 Students
Get PDFThis study investigated the effects of Technology-enhanced Lessons in Optics (TELO) on the academic performance of grade 10 students. A researcher-made Physics Achievement Test was used to measure student performance, and mean scores were utilized to describe the student’s performance in both pretests and post-tests. The study employed statistical tests, including the t-test of difference between dependent samples and the t-test of difference between means of two independent samples, to analyze the data.
During the 2nd Quarter of the School Year 2022-2023, the Technology-enhanced Lessons in Optics (TELO) intervention was implemented for twenty meetings with grade 10 Science, Technology, and Engineering students. The control and experimental groups, consisting of two heterogeneous students, were randomly assigned. Pretest and post-test scores showed a significant improvement in both groups, indicating the acquisition of knowledge and skills. However, the experimental group achieved significantly higher scores in the post-test. TELO\u27s interactive features and ICT-based instruction facilitated active learning and enhanced student performance. The study provides evidence for the effectiveness of TELO in improving the academic performance of grade 10 students, highlighting the value of interactive and ICT-based approaches grounded in constructivist principles and the SAMR model in enhancing Physics learning outcomes
Labor Transformation in the Agricultural Sector in Riau Province
Get PDFOne of the efforts to increase economic added value is through economic structure transformation. The impact of the transformation of the economic structure is the transformation of workforce. Economic transformation that is not accompanied by labor transformation can result in lower incomes for workers in the agricultural sector and a scarcity of labor in the non-agricultural sectors. The goal of this research is to analyze the transformation of the workforce structure in Riau Province and to build a model that can explain the transformation of the workforce structure in Riau Province during 2018-2023. Using panel regression analysis, this research found that the GRDP ratio and average years of schooling had a linear positive effect on the transformation of labor structure. Thus, it can be said that these two variables can encourage workforce transformation in Riau Province. Regarding the various results obtained, there are several policy suggestions and recommendations that can be given to related parties
Voyaging Through Uncharted Territories: A Phenomenological Study of Elementary Education Amidst the New Normal
Get PDFAs the world slowly recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic, it is clear that we will not be returning to the world we once knew. Instead, we are adapting to a "New Normal" - a world where we must learn to coexist with the virus. This new way of life vastly differs from what we were accustomed to, and every aspect of our lives has been impacted. Teachers have a significant role in shaping the future of education, and they, too, have been affected by the pandemic. In this study, we sought to understand the challenges and issues public elementary school teachers face in the Philippines due to the pandemic. We employed a qualitative phenomenological research design, selecting nine participants who shared their experiences. Through our analysis, we identified seven themes, including lack of communication, parents\u27 low levels of education, insufficient time for printing modules, teachers\u27 out-of-pocket expenses, difficulty in assessing learners\u27 academic performance, the need for professional growth, and teachers\u27 positive response to the changes. Despite their challenges, these teachers remain resilient and motivated to adapt to the new normal. Despite the difficulties, they continue to work hard to ensure their pupils receive quality education
Unlocking Creativity: Utilizing The 5 Whys Methodology to Illuminate Core Issues in Student Supreme Government
Get PDFStudent engagement programs served as catalysts for student development, community building, and active participation in campus life. This research explored the state of student engagement programs within the Supreme Student Government (SSG), focusing on their effectiveness and levels of student participation. Utilizing the 5 Whys methodology, the study identified and analyzed critical challenges and opportunities related to student motivation, program structure, and alignment with student interests. The findings revealed that internal communication breakdowns and budget constraints were significant factors impeding the effectiveness of SSG programs. Student participation was only moderate due to conflicting schedules with classes and insufficient program marketing. The rigid structure of SSG programs and a lengthy approval process further limited their ability to meet student needs. A disconnect between program content and student interests hindered engagement. The research concluded that the root causes of these problems lay in the need for more structured communication channels, a complex approval process, and misalignment with student interests. By addressing these underlying motives, recommendations included enhancing internal communication, allocating funds as efficiently as possible, and creating an inclusive learning environment. These strategies aimed to develop more effective and appealing student engagement programs, ultimately fostering a more active and engaged student body
Emojis as Communication Medium Among College Students in a State-Run Institution
Get PDFEmojis are small images conveying meaning, emotions, and tone embedded in electronic text messages that allow people to express their feelings and emotions in nonverbal and informal conversations. This study aimed to find out the role of emojis as a communication medium among college students in a state-run institution. Specifically, it sought to identify the popularly-used emojis, the social media platforms where these are used, determine their frequency of use, and the instances where these are used. Sophomore college students enrolled in a teacher education degree program specializing in the English language at a state-run university supplied the data collected using a validated survey questionnaire transformed and sent through the Google messenger application. Results revealed that the topmost popular emojis used by college students in their nonverbal communication were the heart, face with tears of joy, and loudly crying face. Participants stated that they always use emojis in their informal communication with friends on popular social media platforms, such as Facebook and Messenger. It was also established that emojis were used when messaging friends or family members expressing their feelings, and having nothing else to reply to in a conversation. These findings attest that the use of technology-driven trends has evolved in the communication media, particularly among the younger generation
A Meta-analysis of the Profit-Sharing Practices among Engineering, Construction, and Related Firms: Strategy to Increase Company Revenue

Through a meta-analysis of recent studies, it identifies key factors that influence the effectiveness of profit-sharing programs. The findings reveal that profit sharing significantly boosts employee motivation and productivity, with increases of 15% and 12% respectively. Moreover, job satisfaction rates are 20% higher among employees participating in profit-sharing programs. However, there is a notable preference split, with 60% of employees favoring profit sharing for its potential higher earnings, while 40% prefer fixed salary increases for stability. The research further indicates that frequent and actively managed profit-sharing distributions, such as quarterly payouts, lead to better financial performance, with a 10% increase in overall performance and a 5% improvement in profitability. Project-based profit sharing in the construction sector is particularly effective, resulting in a 25% increase in project completion rates and a 15% reduction in project costs. Additionally, profit sharing is more effective in unionized organizations, with an 18% increase in effectiveness, and mandatory profit-sharing frameworks enhance worker satisfaction and productivity. Based on these findings, the paper recommends developing tailored profit-sharing strategies that cater to different employee preferences, implementing frequent and active management of profit-sharing distributions, adopting project-based profit sharing in project-centric industries, engaging with unions for fair terms, advocating for supportive regulatory frameworks, and continuously monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of these programs. By adopting these strategies, engineering and construction firms can enhance employee motivation, improve productivity, and achieve better financial performance, driving organizational success

Moreover, digital platforms offer flexibility in delivering instructional materials, accommodating diverse learning styles and paces. However, alongside these benefits, teachers encounter notable challenges. Technical barriers, such as limited access to devices and internet connectivity, hinder the seamless integration of digital platforms. Privacy and security concerns, coupled with the need for digital literacy skills, further complicate the adoption process. Moreover, the transformation of traditional teaching methods to suit digital platforms necessitates time and effort. In this context, various practices emerge among secondary school teachers.
