    The Effect Of Self-Comassion On Loneliness In Nias Tribe Students At HKBP Nommensen University, Medan

    This study aims to determine the influence of self-compassion on loneliness in Nias ethnic migrant students at HKBP Nommensen University, Medan. The research was conducted by distributing a scale to Nias ethnic migrant students at HKBP Nommensen University, Medan. Based on research conducted by researchers, namely the influence of self-compassion on loneliness in Nias ethnic migrant students at HKBP Nommensen University, Medan, that: There is a negative influence of self-compassion on loneliness in Nias ethnic migrant students at HKBP Nommensen University. Thus, the higher the self-compassion, the lower the loneliness, conversely the lower the self-compassion, the higher the loneliness in Nias ethnic migrant students at HKBP Nommensen University. In this study, self-compassion contributed 4% to loneliness while the remaining 96%, which means it is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. Based on the loneliness variable score category, the results obtained were 56 subjects (51.8%) who had a moderate level of loneliness. This shows that some Nias ethnic migrant students at HKBP Nommensen University have a moderate level of loneliness. Based on the self-compassion variable score category, 59 subjects (56.4%) were in the moderate category. Therefore, Nias students at HKBP Nommensen University have moderate levels of self-compassion

    The Effect Of Fear Of Missing Out (FOMO) On The Psychological Wellbeing Of Social Media Users For Students In Medan City

    This study aims to evaluate the influence of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) on the psychological well-being of social media users among students in Medan City. The sampling technique in this study is by using one of the non-probability sampling techniques, namely purposive sampling, which is a sampling technique based on consideration of the criteria of the research subjects according to what the researcher wants to study and draw conclusions. Based on the results of a simple linear regression analysis, it can be concluded that Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) does not have a significant influence on psychological well-being (PWB) in students. This is also shown by the R value of 0.076 which indicates a very small influence between the two variables. The R Square value of 0.006 indicates that only 0.6% of the variability in psychological well-being can be explained by FoMO, while the rest is influenced by other factors outside the model. The Adjusted R Square value of -0.001 also indicates that this regression model cannot be generalized and has very low predictive ability. In addition, the ANOVA test results show a calculated F value of 0.850 with a significance (p) of 0.358 (> 0.05), which means that the regression model is not statistically significant. Thus, the null hypothesis (H₀ ) is accepted and the alternative hypothesis (H₁ ) is rejected. This means that there is no significant influence between FoMO on psychological well-being in students in this study

    The rapid adoption of ChatGPT in education raises various ethical concerns, especially within the context of Buddhist Religious Education, which emphasizes moral and spiritual values. This study aims to examine the ethical use of ChatGPT in Buddhist Religious Education based on the principles of the Dhamma. The research employs a literature review method with a descriptive-comparative approach, analyzing Buddhist canonical texts such as the Tipiṭaka and recent scholarly articles on AI ethics. The findings reveal that Buddhist ethics differ from secular ethics by focusing on intention, mental awareness, and spiritual transformation, rather than merely consequences or rule-based obligations. Comparatively, secular ethics tend to be consequentialist and deontological, while Buddhist ethics are rooted in inner qualities and moral harmony. Based on this comparison, the proposed solution is to promote the wise and mindful use of ChatGPT as a supportive tool—rather than a replacement for teachers—while upholding the teacher's role as a moral and spiritual guide. Furthermore, the integration of core values such as wisdom (paññā), honesty (sacca), and mindfulness (sati) is essential in the learning process. Future research is recommended to empirically examine the effectiveness of these ethical guidelines in the context of Buddhist education

    Application Of The Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model Help With Mind Mapping To Improve Student Activeness And Learning Outcomes

    The problem in this research is the low activity and learning outcomes. The purpose of this research is to determine the improvement of activity and learning outcomes of the eleventh-grade students of SMKN 1 Medan through the implementation of Problem-Based Learning model assisted by Mind Mapping. This study was conducted at SMKN 1 Medan. The subject of this research was the students of class XI AKL 3, totaling 32 students. The object of this research is the Problem Based Learning model assisted by Mind Mapping. This research was conducted in two cycles. The data collection techniques in this research are the observation sheets for learning activity and tests of learning outcomes. The data analysis techniques for this research are quantitative data analysis and qualitative data analysis. From the student activity observation sheet in cycle I, there were 15 (46.87%) who fell into the very active and active categories. In cycle II, the number of students categorized as very active and active increased to 31 students (96.87%) and has met the success indicator of ≥75%. From the analysis of the data obtained, the test results showed an average score of the Pre Test as 76.09 with 14 students (43.75%) achieving mastery, and in the Post Test of cycle I, the average score was 81.09 with 28 students (87.5%) achieving mastery. This improved further in the Post Test II with an average score of 90.46, with 32 students (100%) achieving mastery, meeting the success indicator of ≥85%. Based on this analysis, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Mind Mapping can increase student activity and learning outcomes at SMKN 1 Medan

    "Spiritual Transformation through Dhammayatra: An Empirical Analysis of Saddhā Strengthening and Understanding of Buddhism in the Context of Contextual Learning"

    The crisis of meaning and spirituality that has hit the younger generation demands a more contextual and transformative model of religious learning. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Dhammayatra as an experiential learning strategy in strengthening Saddhā and improving understanding of Buddhism. With a quantitative approach and a one-group pretest-posttest pseudo-experiment design, this study involved 51 participants who followed the entire series of Dhammayatra. An instrument in the form of a Likert questionnaire is used to measure two main variables: Saddhā (belief in the Triratna) and understanding of the Dhamma (cognitive, affective, applicative). The results of the analysis showed a significant improvement in the indicators of Saddhā and Dhamma understanding after the activity took place. Collective spiritual experiences through visits to sacred sites, meditation, and guided reflection have proven to be more impactful than conventional methods. These findings strengthen the argument that Dhammayatra can be a transformative learning medium and deeply touch spiritual aspects. By practical implication, these activities need to be integrated into the non-formal curriculum of Buddhist education in a systematic manner, with trained facilitators and thematic learning modules. The study also recommends further exploration through a mixed methods approach and longitudinal studies to assess the sustainability of long-term spiritual impacts.     Development Of UNO Card Learning Media For Class XI Physics Learning

    This study aims to develop a physics learning media in the form of UNO Cards to enhance students’ learning motivation in physics learning, particularly on the topic of heat for Grade XI high school students. The research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects consisted of five students in the small group trial and 19 Grade XI students from SMA Swasta Methodist 7 Medan in the field trial. The developed learning media was validated by content and media experts and was declared highly feasible, with an average feasibility score of 90% by content experts and 90.5% by media experts. The small group trial achieved an average feasibility score of 94%, while the field trial showed an average of 91%. In addition, the use of UNO Physics Cards was proven to increase students' learning motivation from the “moderate” category (65.18%) to the “very high” category (89%). The results indicate that the UNO Physics Card media is effective, feasible, and capable of increasing students’ motivation in learning physics.     This study aims to determine the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model on students' learning outcomes in the Economics subject for Grade XI students of the Hospitality Program at SMK Negeri 8 Medan. This research is motivated by the low academic performance of students in Economics, especially in the topic of entrepreneurship. The CTL model is designed to relate the learning material to students' real-life contexts to improve their conceptual understanding in a more meaningful way. This study employed a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design using the One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample consisted of 33 students from class XI PH 2, selected randomly from the population of Grade XI Hospitality students. Data collection instruments included multiple-choice tests covering the cognitive aspects of learning outcomes, which were previously tested for validity and reliability. The data analysis techniques used in this study included descriptive analysis, normality test, simple linear regression, t-test, F-test, and N-Gain analysis. The results showed a significant increase in posttest scores compared to pretest scores. The average posttest score was higher than the pretest score. The t-test result showed that tcount = 8.359 > ttable = 2.040, indicating that the alternative hypothesis is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model has a positive and significant effect on students' learning outcomes in Economics

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk Analisis Makna Parjambaran Adat Saur Matua Dalam Budaya Batak Toba (Kajian Semiotika) . Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan yang telah diuraikan tentang kajian semiotika parjambaran adat saur matua dalam budaya Batak Toba, maka peneliti menyimpulkan sebagai berikut:Melalui pendekatan analisis semiotika terhadap parjambaran dalam acara adat saur matua pada masyarakat Batak Toba, dapat disimpulkan bahwa parjambaran memiliki makna simbolik yang sangat utama dan menjadi kedudukan di dalam dalihan natolu. Jambar (bagian/hak) menjadi wujud nyata dari relasi Manat, Somba, dan Elek dalam kehidupan Batak toba dan diwariskan secara turun-temurun.Perspektif semiotika, parjambaran tidak hanya berperan sebagai dalihan natolu tetapi untuk memperkuat ikatan sosial, menyalurkan berkat, melestarikan kearifan lokal, serta penghormatan kepada leluhur dan Tuhan Yang Maha Esa. Tradisi parjambaran di dalam masyarakat Batak Toba memiliki hubungan yang erat, nilai-nilai yang ada di dalam pendidikan terhadap generasi muda, dan solidaritas yang kuat.Penggunaan teori semiotika menurut Charles Sanders Peirce pada acara parjambaran adat saur matua dalam budaya Batak Toba mengandung makna mendalam yang dapat dianalisis dan memiliki ikon kepala (ulu) bagian tubuh yang paling tinggi dan menjadi wibawa kehormatan, dan kedudukan tertinggi, indeks menunjukkan bahwa jambar yang mentah dibagikan sesuai porsi yang diatur sebagai ucapan terima kasih, sementara simbolnya jambar menjadi berkat kehidupan, memiliki tanggung jawab, dan memiliki solidaritas yang kuat.     Dalam industri kuliner yang semakin kompetitif, penggunaan Bahasa Indonesia dalam deskripsi menu restoran memiliki peran penting sebagai strategi komunikasi dan pemasaran yang efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana deskripsi menu berbahasa Indonesia dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsumen, memengaruhi keputusan pembelian, serta memperkuat identitas budaya lokal di tengah arus globalisasi. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif, kemudian dianalisis dengan teknik analisis tematik dan triangulasi sumber untuk menjaga validitas temuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Bahasa Indonesia dalam menu membuat konsumen lebih mudah memahami bahan, proses penyajian, serta karakteristik makanan, sekaligus membangun rasa nyaman, kepercayaan, dan meningkatkan minat beli dibandingkan penggunaan istilah asing yang tidak familiar. Selain itu, penggunaan bahasa yang komunikatif berkontribusi dalam membentuk citra merek restoran yang autentik dan memperkuat rasa kebanggaan terhadap kuliner lokal. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa deskripsi menu berbahasa Indonesia tidak hanya memperlancar komunikasi bisnis, tetapi juga menjadi instrumen penting dalam menciptakan pengalaman kuliner yang inklusif, memuaskan, dan bermuatan nilai budaya di Indonesia.     DUPLIKASI WAYANG BEBER TAWANGALUN PACITAN

    Wayang Beber Tawang Alun is an intangible cultural heritage typical of Pacitan, East Java, consisting of six scrolls with a total of 23 stories. Based on the candrasengkala “Gawe Srabi Jinamah Wong,” this artifact is estimated to have originated from 1614 Saka (1692 AD). Increasing age and physical vulnerability make the original artifact no longer suitable for use in performances. Therefore, this study aims to preserve and develop Wayang Beber through duplication activities, so that it can still be used as an educational and performance medium without damaging the original artifact. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with the objects of study including the process of making daluang paper, sungging techniques, and dissemination of works. The results of the duplication of six replica scrolls show the effectiveness of a collaborative preservation strategy between local and national artists. Replicas not only maintain visual aspects and narrative values, but also become educational media that strengthen cultural identity and the regeneration of traditional art actors in a sustainable manne
