    Get PDF
Japanese ski resort areas have been widely recognized as superb with excellent snow conditions, facilities and beautiful natural environment. The Naeba and Kagura Ski Areas, have increased the number of foreign skiers. The convenient destination is located only two hours from Tokyo metropolitan. Kagura Ski Area is linked to Mt. Naeba (1,845m high) via the world's longest gondola (5.5km) and has 20 paths and 19 lifts. On the contrary, it is also pointed out that tourist when using these paths have trouble reaching the right destination. This paper describes a convenient trail guide system which provides a suitable path for each skier. This system was developed as a java applet for the aim of an easy access even from a personal tablet or a smart phone anywhere/anytime. Since the protocol is simply using backtracking algorithm, profitable and applicable for any platform, system can be easily modified and upgraded.departmental bulletin pape

Lazy Evaluation of Functional Programming Languages

    Get PDF
Lazy evaluation is an evaluation strategy in programming languages. Lazy evaluation delays the evaluation of an expression until its value is needed. With lazy evaluation, there are some advantages. One of the advantages enables to avoid unnecessary evaluations. Another advantage enables to help programmers write clear programs. In case of linked list, programmers can divide functions into two kinds, generation of list and consume of list. In this paper, we introduce an overview of lazy evaluation and our continuous research for lazy functional programming languages.departmental bulletin pape

    Get PDF
This study aimed to reveal normative precautionary observation for crossing bicycles when turning left at signalized intersections. We analyzed eye movement data of a driving instructor when he drove a vehicle equipped with a driving recorder and four cameras, Through conducting hearing survey with the recorded images and analyzing the experimental data, we concluded that the instructor assumed crossing bicycles closed to a pedestrian crossing from four directions and he checked the existence of crossing bicycles by three steps. Finally, we revealed the sequence of normative precautionary observation which could prevent the accidents with crossing bicycles in all directions.departmental bulletin pape

Discovery of “Gwisoonja(Defector)” : Regarding the Notion of “Gwisoon(Defection)” in Liberated Korea

    Get PDF
The purpose of this paper is proving the word “Gwisoon” frequently used in South Korea. Why does this word appear and when did it start. Until today, South Korea has unconsciously used “Gwisoon” as a verb for North Korean people who came to South. Especially, South Korean regards this word as the submission from North to South Korea. And South Korean people recognise the “Gwisoon” was born by the outbreak of the Korean War or starting the accepting policy on North Korean defectors like the “wolnam-gwisoonja” policy. But in fact, the “Gwisoon” has already shown since the “liberated Korea” age. In other words, the situation of divided Korean peninsula itself was the starting point rather than the breakout of the Korean War or starting the policy. And then, South Korean society was confused by political situation like “Right-left Ideology confrontation”. So, it is possible to conjecture that the appearance of the “Gwisoon” was connected with this political situation. Nevertheless, the preceding researches are insufficient. So, this paper postulates that confused South Korean political situation and a struggle for a political initiative were ultimately associated with the appearance of the “Gwisoon”.departmental bulletin pape

First, the potential and limit of Nakaya’s participation in Movement at Ryukyu University though 1960s which was triggered by the death of his niece in the incident of 1959 Okinawa F-100 Crash will be examined in a historical context. I will further examine that the movement was aiming to overcome an aspect of its sectionality and inflexibility and to criticize the significance of Reversion Movement in Japan in the context of historical trend in Neo-leftism. Secondly, Nakaya's journey for 40 days in his “motherland Japan” was the second trigger after the death of his niece to change his perspectives. Nakaya’s arrest for occupation in Legislature of the Government of the Ryukyu Islands was evaluated to be separation from representative politics and to be in the process of population becoming “people”. Lastly, the poem of Nakaya’s which was believed to be Nakaya’s fail in political conflicts should be dealt. Nakaya endeavored to perpetuate his poem and death by the means of opposition to the contemporary political system. In addition, whether the way of incorporation of the trace of alterity and endless mourning work or not should be.departmental bulletin pape
