Development and Performance Evaluation of Small Gust Wind Tunnel
This study develops a gust wind tunnel, which allows us to investigate aerodynamic characteristics of a body under an unsteady flow. First, a simple wind tunnel model with one fan is developed, and its performance is investigated. It is found that the stall of fans is the cause of the insufficient acceleration of the gust. The employment of exhaust ports improves the acceleration. Four simple wind tunnel models are combined to make a multi-fan gust wind tunnel, and its performance is investigated. As a result, it is found that the acceleration of the gust increases by approximately 20 % of the previous wind tunnel. In addition, the freestream disturbance of the proposed gust wind tunnel is drastically reduced.departmental bulletin pape
Investigation of Electrolyte Solution in Electrochemical Oxidation Treatment of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics
In order to recover carbon fiber from CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics), the effect of electrolyte solution in the electrochemical oxidation treatment of the unidirectional CFRP was investigated. A two-electrode cell using a CFRP monolayer as an anode was used for the treatment. As a result, the weight loss of the CFRP depended on the treatment time, although the carbon fiber was damaged in case of over 15 h treatment. From the damage mechanism estimation based on the observation of the CFRP after the treatment, it was suggested that the generation of localized high electric field caused the damage of carbon fiber recovered from the CFRP. From the investigation of the electrolyte solution and the its pH, a clear correlation between the weight loss and the electrolyte solution was not obtained.departmental bulletin pape

Korean Migrants and Ancient Japan : East Asia and Japan
Korean Migrants who settled down in the Japanese archipelago from the Korean Peninsula played a great role in the history and the culture of ancient Japan. We can find a lot of traces such as Chinese characters used in Japan, Buddhism for religious belief and Confucianism for ethics and morality around us even now. Although Korean Migrants relocated several times, those who made the greatest impact on Japanese history and culture were the ones in the 5th century. The foundation of Japan was formed around that time and we normally call it “The Early State.” The advanced culture and civilization brought by Korean Migrants are acknowledged as background factors. Korean Migrants greatly advanced the history and the culture of Japan: the Japanese archipelago, which is separated from outside by an ocean, was far from isolated. China, the Korean Peninsula and the Japanese archipelago formed their history and culture through active interaction and contacts. Although many researchers point out that fact that Korean Migrants settled in Japan, their route remains to be confirmed. A concrete case of Korean Migrants is discussed in this article, using the ancient Japan sea or Donghae (East Sea) which is shown as “Kitatsu-umi” in Chronicles of Japan.departmental bulletin pape
