    Creative approaches in making objects of identification for Ukrainian companies

    The article is devoted to the study of creative approaches of design and advertising specialists in creating logos and trademarks of the companies of Ukraine, other countries of Europe, North America, and the East Asia, that have been successfully operating in the market for at least ten years. Examples of font and image solutions aimed at solving a set of problems have been considered: brand identification among others, product or service advertising, forming the visual image of the company in the consumer’s mind. The authors believe that the environment of visual signs and messages is a system of various human impressions, indications of needs, and ways to meet them, which requires a “creator”, endowed with the gift of intuitive insight into the pictorial essence of things, needs and phenomena and able to convince consumer in the understanding of their image. Logos of various global companies (manufacturers of food, industrial, pharmaceutical products, service companies and others) are classified into eight groups by structural and compositional characteristics. Based on the analysis of market positioning of companies and their communication strategies, the authors conclude that the basis for identifying the creative component in the development of brand identity is the relationship between production processes and positioning of goods (services) and the sensory-emotional sphere of the consumer

    Testing multi-GNSS (GPS/GLONASS/Galileo/BeiDou/IRNSS) and wide-lane performance for long baselines

    With the rapid development of multi-constellation global navigation satellite systems (GNSS), the world of satellite navigation has undergone tremendous changes. Once all six systems (IRNSS, BeiDou, QZSS, Galileo, GLONASS, and GPS) are deployed in the next few years, approximately 150 satellites will be available, which will bring huge opportunities and challenges to science and engineering applications. This paper describes an experiment conducted with the static method for the Multi-GNSS about achievable accuracy especially for the long baselines (Wide Lane ambiguity solution). The obtained results indicate that integrating GPS systems with Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou, QZSS and IRNSS are favoured for surveying applications. It appears that through the integration of GPS/GLONASS/Galileo/BeiDou/QZSS/IRNSS static measurements in the study area, millimetre-centimetre accuracy may be guaranteed on for long baselines by using Wide Lane (WL)

    Intentions to consume dietary supplements among Gen Y: extended planned behaviour model

    The attention drawn by COVID-19 in terms of health improvement has included usage of dietary supplements; it is viewed as a means of boosting immune systems and hence supporting a better overall physical condition, The research intends to establish the determining aspects of the intention to consume dietary supplements among those of Gen Y. Extended theory of planned behavior was adopted to develop the framework for this study. The empirical study used primary data generated from Gen Y individuals aware of their consumption. A total of 449 respondents were collected and data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). The results indicated five positive and significant influences on the consumption of dietary supplements by Gen Y: the perceived behavioral control over the use of supplements; need for supplement consumption; health information-seeking behavior; perceived social pressure; and trust in the supplement brand. It is evident that attitude toward dietary supplements significantly mediates the relationship between the social media subjective norm and health information seeking and the intention to consume the dietary supplements. Despite increasing studies on dietary supplement consumption, not much has been done on the aspects influencing intention to consume dietary supplements on the part of Gen Y

    Multi-criteria decision analysis of Circular Economy performance in the Baltic States: a comparative evaluation

    This study embarks on a comparative evaluation of Circular Economy (CE) performance in the Baltic States (Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia) using a robust multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) framework. Drawing on 22 key indicators, the research applies the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) to systematically rank the country-level CE implementation across five thematic dimensions: production and consumption, waste management, secondary raw materials, competitiveness and innovation, and global sustainability. The results reveal that Latvia ranks highest, followed by Lithuania and Estonia, underscoring significant differences in waste management efficiency, investment in CE sectors, and material self-sufficiency. The main contribution of this paper lies in the development of a comprehensive, quantitative benchmarking framework that integrates multiple CE indicators and MCDM methods to assess national performance in a data-driven manner. The methodology developed here can serve as a replicable model for CE assessment in other regional or national contexts

    Effectiveness of the ESG approach in portfolio selection – an empirical evidence from the US stock market

    The purpose of this study is to explore whether ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) criteria can serve as a valuable tool for investors when making rational decisions about financial security selection and portfolio construction. By applying Modern and Post-Modern portfolio theories (MPT and PMPT) under the conditions of ESG and Return Max criterion, our primary objective was determined: “Is ESG a criterion for investors in the rational selection of financial securities and portfolio construction?” A five-year analysis (2018–2023) was carried out on 484 financial securities (companies) from the S&P 500 Stock Index to answer this question. Data collected included the daily close price of the S&P 500 Stock Index, its constituents (484 stocks), ESG scores, risk-free rate, and the equity risk premium of the U.S. market. The results showed that financial securities chosen based on the Return Max criterion were generally undervalued on the market; however, this was not consistently observed by ESG Max where examples of overvalued securities were also identified. Nevertheless, using the Sharpe and Sortino Ratio performance indicators, it was concluded that the return per unit of assumed risk is more appealing to investors (with risk aversion) when considering the portfolios built on the ESG Max criterion

    Prediction of sewage pipeline construction duration by introducing machine learning and deep learning approaches

    Establishing project costs in construction is crucial for project success, typically done through regression methods for prediction. While these methods are common, novel regression methods are less practiced in construction management. This study explores both traditional and modern regression techniques, analyzing data from 83 sewage pipeline projects in South Korea. The study implemented state-of-the-art frameworks, including hyperparameter optimization and k-fold cross-validation, to evaluate statistic, machine learning and deep learning based regression models using R2 score, RMSE, MAE, and MSE. Results revealed that performance metrics don’t always align with predictive accuracy. For instance, the random forest regressor achieved the best R2 score of 0.847 but ranked fifth in prediction accuracy. Moreover, polynomial regression outperformed novel methods with a 98.790% accuracy across the validation dataset

    Integration of ethnoecopreneuship, collaborative, and creative economy as an effort for sustainability of mangrove ecotourism

    In the face of global tourism industry challenges, innovation in tourism services is essential for achieving sustainable development goals. This research aims to address the multifaceted challenges of sustainable mangrove ecotourism in Indonesia through an integrative approach combining ethnoecopreneuship, collaborative, and creative economy. Utilizing participatory rural appraisal (PRA) and focus group discussion (FGD), data analysis combines strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats (SWOT) analyses and analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method. The results emphasize the importance of community involvement, ecological considerations, effective promotion, and adoption of digital technology in the sustainability of mangrove ecotourism. The research calls for collaboration among stakeholders, policy emphasis on local government responsibilities, and active involvement of local communities and non-governmental organizations in mangrove conservation and management. This research underscores the potential for sustainable development, aligning with the sustainable development goals (SDGs) and enhancing economic and social outcomes in Indonesia’s mangrove ecotourism sector

    Employee–talent motivation is a critical factor ensuring the competitiveness and success of a start-up. This article examines the challenges of creating an employee–talent motivation system, highlighting its role in fostering engagement, innovation, and long-term organizational growth. The article analyzes classical and modern motivation theories, emphasizing their importance, applicability, and relevance to the organizational environment of start-ups. It also explores distinctive features of start-ups, such as organizational structure, culture, financial constraints, and competition for talent, and how these factors influence motivation strategies. The key elements of a motivation system – reward systems, incentives, career opportunities, and workplace culture –are discussed with a focus on flexibility, autonomy, innovation, participation in decision-making, and informal work environments. The article provides valuable insights for aspiring entrepreneurs and start-up founders seeking to create effective strategies for attracting and managing talent, ensuring employee retention and engagement under limited financial resources. Darbuotojų-talentų motyvavimo sistemos kūrimas startuolių įmonėse Santrauka Darbuotojų-talentų motyvacija yra kritinis veiksnys, užtikrinantis startuolio konkurencingumą ir sėkmę. Šiame straipsnyje nagrinėjami darbuotojų-talentų motyvavimo sistemos kūrimo iššūkiai, pabrėžiant jos vaidmenį skatinant įsitraukimą, inovacijas ir ilgalaikį organizacijos augimą. Straipsnyje analizuojamos klasikinės ir šiuolaikinės motyvavimo teorijos, paryškinant jų svarbumą, tinkamumą, būdingą startuolių organizacinei aplinkai. Taip pat analizuojami išskirtiniai startuolių bruožai, tokie kaip organizacinė struktūra, kultūra, finansiniai suvaržymai ir konkurencija dėl talentų ir kaip šie veiksniai daro įtaką motyvavimo strategijai. Pagrindiniai motyvavimo sistemos elementai – atlygio sistema, paskatos, karjeros galimybės ir darbo vietos kultūra – yra nagrinėjami skiriant dėmesį lankstumui, savarankiškumui, naujovėms, dalyvavimui priimant sprendimus ir neformalioms darbo aplinkoms.     Building algorithms and classification thresholds for objects from point cloud data to create 3D city models

    This article aims to develop an improved algorithm for classification of point cloud data. The primary component of this algorithm is determination of the classification thresholds for different geographical objects, which helps in the automatic classification of the LiDAR point cloud data. The algorithm was tested to classify the point cloud of three different areas of Ha Long city in Quang Ninh province. The results from the three areas show that for the ground points our algorithm is on average 6.4% more accurate than the traditional progressive TIN densification (PTD) algorithm. Further, with the proposed point cloud classification algorithms the average accuracy for asphalt roads is 87.77%, 98.09% for vegetation, and 96.86% for roof objects. The classified roof objects were further processed for house digitization, which provided an average accuracy of 92.07%. The whole dataset was used to develop 3D city models of the three areas (A1, A2 and A3 in Figure 7) in Hon Gai ward, Ha Long city with Level of Detail (LoD) 2

    Aesthetic perceptions in architecture and urban design: bridging art and function

    The philosophy of art, particularly its focus on beauty, underpins how aesthetic judgments are formed in architecture and urban design. However, overlapping philosophical orientations can cloud the criteria used to evaluate buildings and urban spaces. Drawing on Kant’s perspective, free beauty refers to design expressions relatively unconstrained by functional rules, whereas restricted beauty involves specific guidelines or ends that shape aesthetic outcomes. This study hypothesizes that clear standards and rules can unify these judgments in architecture and urban design, ultimately fostering coherent urban results. Using a descriptive–analytical methodology, the research compares instances where aesthetic judgments lean more toward free beauty–emphasizing creativity and artistic freedom–with contexts where external provisions (e.g., engineering codes, heritage statutes) reinforce restricted beauty. In doing so, it outlines key differences between purely artistic evaluations and those also subject to engineering or regulatory norms. By clarifying how free and restricted beauty apply in different scenarios, this work addresses an existing knowledge gap: while architectural products may blend both free and restricted elements, urban design typically adheres more tightly to rule-based frameworks. The findings suggest that better-defined aesthetic guidelines can ensure functional and visually integrated outcomes in modern architectural and urban practices
