The Use of Partial Textual Stimuli within an Interactive Task for Increasing Reports of Past Behavior with a Child with Autism
Get PDFIndividuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) may face challenges with reporting past behavior. Although some behavior-analytic studies have shown success with increasing these reports, the use of materials within activities that do not repeat has not been assessed (e.g., Shillingsburg et al., 2017). Thus, the purpose of the current study was to expand upon previous research (e.g., Shillingsburg et al. 2017; 2019) by utilizing novel materials within activities completed and examining the use of partial textual stimuli within an interactive task to increase reports of past behavior for one child with autism. The results showed an increase in reports of past behavior following intervention across three activities as well as an increase in varied responses

Firing Through Adversity: How Women Ceramicists Sustained Stoke-On-Trent’s Pottery Industry Between The Wars
Get PDFBetween the First and Second World Wars, the pottery industry of Stoke-on-Trent endured economic depression, material shortages, and social upheaval. Within this volatile context, women ceramicists such as Susie Cooper and Clarice Cliff emerged as central figures in sustaining, and redefining British ceramic production. This thesis examines how these artists transformed adversity into innovation through design, entrepreneurship, and leadership, arguing that their work both stabilized the industry and advanced a distinctly feminist modernism grounded in labor, creativity, and resilience. Drawing on feminist design theory, class and economic analysis, and material culture studies, this research situates Cooper and Cliff within broader systems of gendered and classed labor. It analyzes their production methods, marketing strategies, and aesthetic innovations as responses to wartime austerity and patriarchal industrial hierarchies. Through archival research, case study methodology, and formal analysis of surviving ceramic works, the thesis reveals how these women leveraged decorative arts to assert authorship, cultivate economic independence, and democratize modernist design for a mass audience. Ultimately, Firing Through Adversity reframes women’s contributions to interwar British ceramics as vital acts of cultural endurance and industrial progress. By integrating feminist historiography with economic theory, this study challenges the marginalization of women’s labor in art history and demonstrates how Cooper and Cliff’s practices bridged the divide between art and industry. Their legacies continue to inform contemporary understandings of creative labor, gendered production, and the enduring strength of women’s innovation under constraint
Digital Threads: Fashion Design with Clo3D
Get PDFCLO3D (CLO) has emerged as a prominent software service within the fashion industry, molding the conceptualization and development of 3D fashion designs. By eliminating the constraints of customary manufacturing processes and real-life production costs, CLO equips designers with tools to bring their fashion garments and designs to life. This study aims to explore the capabilities of CLO software by developing five digital bridal dresses while also examining the learning curve, challenges, and benefits associated with its usage. The objective is to identify how CLO can provide aspiring fashion designers with the tools to produce high-quality designs without traditional training.
By harnessing AI technology, CLO enables designers to visualize their creations through virtual design. The software simplifies key design processes and procedures while also reducing costs and waste associated with trial and error. For individuals aspiring to enter the world of fashion design, CLO offers a valuable tool to develop their skills and create professional-level work solely through computer-based design.
Recognizing the value of empowering fashion designers with the necessary tools and resources, CLO provides comprehensive support. The software offers a help center, DIY manuals, a user community, a feature list, a newsroom, and a sustainability hub. These resources enable designers to fully comprehend the capabilities of the software and unleash their creativity to its fullest potential. This thesis project will produce a comprehensive understanding of CLO\u27s potential and its impact on nontraditional fashion designers
