Algorithmic Governance and the Boardroom: Empirical and Strategic Perspectives on AI Integration in Corporate and Educational Oversight
The accelerating digitization of executive decision-making has prompted critical re-examination of the function and value of traditional boards of directors within corporate and educational institutions. Empirical research consistently reveals that human boards, while ostensibly tasked with strategic insight and fiduciary oversight, are frequently constrained by structural inefficiencies—such as director overcommitment, inflated compensation, and persistent conflicts of interest—that undermine organizational performance. Against this backdrop, the integration of Artificial Intelligence agents, either as analytic adjuncts or autonomous decision-makers, emerges as a plausible avenue for enhancing board effectiveness. This article synthesizes global case studies, peer-reviewed findings, and real-time technological developments to critically evaluate the financial feasibility and governance efficacy of AI-assisted and hybrid boards. It examines the comparative advantages of AI in terms of vigilance, objectivity, cost reduction, and risk management, while also addressing the enduring symbolic and reputational functions uniquely served by human directors. The results underscore that the technology can mitigate well-documented governance failures, streamline decision processes, and elevate financial performance, suggesting that hybrid human-AI boards represent a viable and potentially superior paradigm for future institutional oversight

Body Composition And Perceptual Changes After L-BAIBA And Grains Of Paradise Supplementation 680
Strategies to augment weight loss, fitness, and body composition are in high demand. The myokine beta-amino-isobutyric acid (BAIBA) has been shown to increase fat loss while grains of paradise, a member of the ginger family, may aid weight loss by reducing appetite and boosting thermogenic rates.
PURPOSE: To evaluate the impact of 8 weeks of supplementing with L-BAIBA or L-BAIBA + Grains of Paradise on body composition and perceptual changes in conjunction with a diet and exercise program in overweight and obese men and women.
METHODS: 37 healthy men and women (43.2 ± 11.4 years, 169.4 ± 7.6 cm, 90.3 ± 15.6 kg, 31.4 ± 4.4 kg/m2) completed a weekly exercise program while reducing their energy intake and were randomly assigned in a double-blind manner to consume on a daily basis either a placebo, 500 mg L-BAIBA (MitoBurn, NNB Nutrition), or 500 mg L-BAIBA +40 mg Grains of Paradise (CaloriBurn, NNB Nutrition). After 0, 2, 4, and 8 weeks of supplementation, participants were evaluated for changes in body mass, body composition using dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA), and perceptual changes of hunger, appetite, energy, focus, attention, and concentration using 100-mm anchored visual analog scales (VAS). Dietary intake was evaluated using 4-day dietary recalls using ASA24. Mixed factorial ANOVA with repeated measures were used to evaluate main and interaction effects. A p-value of 0.05 was used to determine statistical outcomes.
RESULTS: A significant group x time interaction (p = 0.011) for hunger VAS ratings was observed. When compared to PLA, BAIBA reported reduced hunger ratings after 14, 28, and 56 days of supplementation while BAIBA + GOP realized reduced hunger ratings after 28 days of supplementation. No other statistically significant group x time interactions (p \u3e 0.05) were found for body mass, DXA fat mass, DXA fat-free mass, or DXA % fat. Similarly, no significant group x time interactions (p \u3e 0.05) were identified for VAS ratings for appetite, energy, focus, attention, and concentration. Finally, no changes in energy or macronutrient intake were reported for any of the supplementation groups.
CONCLUSION: Supplementation with BAIBA or BAIBA+GOP reduce perceptual feelings of hunger in conjunction with a diet and exercise program without complementary changes in body composition or dietary intak
