Female Leaders in Intercollegiate Athletics: A Design-Based Mixed Method Study Focusing on Female Leadership Development through Strengths-Based Training
Historically, women endured challenges obtaining leadership roles in male-dominated industries, specifically sports. Despite Title IX\u27s intent to promote gender equality, the number of female leaders in sport leadership positions unintentionally decreased as the number of female athletes increased, reducing female mentor visibility (Acosta & Carpenter, 2014; LaVoi & Dutove, 2012; Taylor & Wells, 2017; Tibbetts, 2020; Walker & Bopp, 2010). The low number of female mentors available negatively impacted future sport career aspirations by female student-athletes (Levi et al., 2023; Swim et al., 2021). Recurring gender stereotypes continued to impede women\u27s leadership opportunities, as society viewed leadership traits as inherently masculine (Taylor & Wells, 2017). Society also perceived women as less capable leaders due to gender roles and stereotypes, contributing to a lack of confidence among women in male-dominated fields (Herbst, 2020). The scholar-practitioner uncovered a need for professional development and training at the research site due to the high number of young and experienced female leaders within the athletic department. The scholar-practitioner created opportunities for women at the research site by designing strengths-based leadership training focused on self-awareness. The training allowed women to develop leadership skills and engage in same-gender networking. The scholar-practitioner’s study contained qualitative and quantitative results that supported a significant increase in participant self-awareness and confidence after implementing the training. Female leaders at the research site benefited from leadership development through strengths-based training and same-gender networking. The athletic department hoped to retain women within the industry by providing professional development training tailored to the specific needs of female leaders. Same-gender mentoring can be transformative for empowering female leaders through increased self-awareness and confidence (Daspher, 2017; Herbst, 2020). When organizations offer women resources and support for career advancement, retention rates improve, and the work performance of women is enhanced significantly (Gonzales, 2022). The potential for organizational advancement increased as female leaders became more confident. After increasing confidence and feeling empowered, women can create internal organizational change or influence others outside their current organization (Baker & Bourke, 2022; Zenger, 2018). Retaining women was critical for addressing the wicked problem relating to the underrepresentation of female leaders in intercollegiate athletics
Embodied Intimacy and Social Justice: Patricia Cronin\u27s Memorial to a Marriage
This paper examines Patricia Cronin’s Memorial to a Marriage (2002) as a pivotal work within her artistic catalogue, one that engages deeply with themes of intimacy, identity, and social justice. Created at a time when same-sex marriage was illegal in the United States, Memorial to a Marriage represents Cronin and her partner, feminist artist, Deborah Kass, in a Classical funerary sculpture, reclaiming the tradition of public monuments to center an LGBTQIA+ experience from memory. Through a critical analysis of Memorial to a Marriage within Cronin’s broader artistic practice, this study explores how the sculpture challenges the conventions of public art and catalyzes discourse on queer visibility, social recognition, and the role of art in activism. It situates Cronin’s work within larger conversations in art history, focusing on how her approach fosters reflections on equality, identity, and representation in a public sphere historically resistant to these themes. Ultimately, this thesis argues that Memorial to a Marriage is not only a personal statement but a transformative work that redefines public art as a space for advocating social justice and celebrating diversity of human relationships

Integrating Pre-Colonial Indigenous Australian Art into Global Art History
Art history as a discipline remains dominated historically through Eurocentric frameworks, systematically marginalizing Indigenous artistic traditions, particularly pre-colonial Australian Aboriginal art. Despite evidence of profound antiquity and cultural richness, such art often occupies peripheral spaces in global narratives. This article addresses these limitations through an interdisciplinary approach, integrating precise archaeological dating methods—including radiocarbon analysis of mud wasp nests and uranium-series dating—with detailed art historical inquiry. Case studies focus specifically on landmark findings, such as the Gwion Gwion rock paintings in the Kimberley region (over 16,000 years old) and Australia’s oldest known in-situ kangaroo painting, dated approximately 17,300 years old. Comparative international examples drawn from Sulawesi cave art in Indonesia, San rock art heritage in South Africa, and Native American initiatives in museum curation illustrate effective models for conservation policy, curriculum reform, and Indigenous representation in global art contexts. Therefore, these recently validated chronologies offer a foundation to challenge entrenched Eurocentric biases, thus facilitating meaningful curricular transformation and effective cultural policy frameworks
Stuffed Animals and Adults
Recently, stuffed animals have resurged in interest among children and adults. For example, in 2023, Squishmallows won Plush Toy of the Year at the annual Toy Association Awards. We surveyed 184 adult participants (18 or older) to identify who owns stuffed animals. We were interested in whether certain personality variables predict who has these toys and why adults retain interest in these toys. Among our participants, 71.7% owned stuffed animals. We hypothesized that adults with higher stress/anxiety would report increased likelihood of owning stuffed animals. This hypothesis was supported. An independent samples t-test showed that participants with stuffed animals reported higher anxiety (M=8.01, SD= 2.97) than participants without stuffed animals (M=5.55, SD=2.63). A second hypothesis on attachment, proximity, and self-esteem found that adults with higher stuffed animal attachment have higher self-esteem (r(111)= .246, p=.01). However, proximity to animals was not related (r(114)= -.055, p\u3e.05). The third hypothesis proposed that people would report positive feelings about stuffed animals. Qualitative analysis showed the most common words describing stuffed animals included comforting, love, safety, sleep, memories, and happiness. This study helps Psychology and Marketing by providing insight into which adults buy stuffed animals, which may assist in mental health programs and marketing plans
Conformable Regulator Problems with Fixed Delay
In this project, we consider processes guided by a conformable derivative first introduced by Khalil et al in 2014. This time-weighted derivative has many of the same properties as the classical derivative but lacks the semigroup property for the exponential. Here, we study a conformable linear system where the state and control are subject to the same fixed delay. Our process is also subject to wear and tear, represented by a cost functional. Our goal is to find an optimal control that minimizes this cost. This control is propagated by a quasi-Ricatti equation, which itself includes a time delay. HPLC Method Development for the Separation and Quantification of Common Pain Relievers
Over-the-counter pain relievers often contain multiple active ingredients that can be analyzed by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). A method developed and optimized to separate acetaminophen, aspirin, and caffeine from these tablets. The contents of Excedrin pain relievers and the generic counterpart from Walgreens, Walmart, and CVS were tested. Optimization examined multiple mobile phases, temperatures, and run times for the procedure. The results were compared to analytically prepared standards as well as the packaging information, with the primary goal of creating a reproducible and efficient protocol for HPLC instrumentation. The method successfully separated the contents of all materials reliably within a 15 minute protocol
Bridging Tradition and Technology: AI as a Catalyst for Heritage Preservation and Humanities Research
It is an empirical study examining how AI can be the driving force for cultural heritage and humanities conservation. As the AI tools that digitize, analyze, and conserve cultural resources have become in recent years, they have led to digital transformations in machine learning, digital twinning, and natural language processing. These technologies answer the industry\u27s most challenging problems, such as the loss of historical material, access restrictions to heritage sites, and the labor-intensive nature of traditional conservation techniques. In implementing AI in heritage, institutions can document more accurately, keep records predictively, and offer more interesting public experiences via rich digital media.
Nevertheless, the effects of AI on cultural heritage do not stop there. It is an article about AI\u27s shift to humanities research practices. Humanities researchers have long been guided by interpretive, qualitative methods of historical analysis: texts, artifacts, and cultural histories. Artificial intelligence tools, in contrast, bring discipline into the data – looking for patterns and relationships humans cannot. Natural language processing systems, for example, can rapidly and accurately transcribe and interpret vast archive texts – unearthing unseen truths and forgotten voices from long ago. Just as radically, AI-powered image recognition software allows scientists to pick out finer features in paintings, excavations, and manuscripts, allowing for novel interpretations and insights.
The study also points out that interdisciplinary cooperation leads to meaningful AI integration. The best uses of AI for heritage conservation emerge from collaborations between technologists, humanities scholars, and cultural experts. These collaborations also promote openness to the cultural landscape in which AI operates so that technological advances are culturally sensitive and ethically justified. The case studies in this study show how such partnerships have brought about creative approaches to preserve the dignity of heritage while tapping the power of AI to be revolutionary.
The research also considers global inequalities in access to AI technology. Big institutions have already been leading AI-enabled heritage initiatives in tech-enabled parts of the world, but many marginalized communities lack the resources to do so. This digital divide threatens to create a warped account of world culture, favoring histories at the expense of others. The research calling for open-access AI tools, international funding networks, and knowledge-sharing networks that democratize AI-based heritage conservation must overcome this asymmetry.
This paper provides a systematic plan for an interdisciplinary AI in cultural heritage and humanities research. It is a paradigm that emphasizes the marriage of technological progress and humanism, in which AI does not take over from human interpretation but augments it. By linking AI devices to cultural conservation standards, organizations can save heritage stories with sensitivity to their historical, social, and emotional resonance.
In the long run, this research suggests that AI is unsurpassable and promising as a means of merging tradition and technology, providing new ways to access the past and prepare for the future. It offers theory and practice for more sustainable, inclusive, and innovative heritage management. It aims to encourage a more dynamic exchange between digital Creativity and human history so that cultural narratives are visible and alive forever
AI Satire and Digital Dystopia: The DOR Brothers Crafting Digital Imperfection and Political Commentary In Contemporary Video Art
In a presentation titled AI Satire and Digital Dystopia, Professor Andrew Smith of Lindenwood University discusses the use of AI in creating contemporary video art. He argues that new technologies have always shaped aesthetics, referencing Jean Cocteau\u27s idea that film becomes a true art form when its materials are as accessible as pencil and paper. Smith posits that AI is the modern-day equivalent, democratizing video creation.
Using the viral Will Smith eating spaghetti meme as a spaghetti test, he illustrates the rapid improvement in AI video generation over a short period. He explains that the unsettling feeling often produced by AI-generated humans is known as the uncanny valley, a psychological response to things that are almost, but not perfectly, human. Smith provides tips for detecting AI video, such as looking for artifacts, morphing, inconsistent lighting, and abnormalities in hands, teeth, and eyes.
The presentation highlights the work of The Dor Brothers, who create political satire by using a hybrid of techniques. They generate numerous clips and harvest the best moments, employ deepfake technology, and use traditional editing. Crucially, they mask AI\u27s imperfections by adopting aesthetics with inherent limitations, such as security camera footage or VHS quality.
Smith concludes by outlining the potential disruptions of this technology, including misinformation, the impact on interpersonal relationships, and the prospect of personalized media that could fragment shared cultural experiences. He also notes the issue of lost media, as early, imperfect AI art is often deleted, erasing a unique aesthetic period.

Bridging Classical Rhetoric and AI: A Systematic Framework for Developing Authorial Voice Through Large Language Models
This project addresses critical gaps in AI-assisted writing by developing the first systematic framework that integrates classical rhetorical principles with modern large language model capabilities for authorial voice development. The primary focus is on creating reliable methods for stylistic control through strategic AI collaboration rather than ad hoc prompting approaches. The project develops a comprehensive coding system for analyzing prose style, creates ten distinct authorial personas, and establishes a dual curation methodology that structures both stylistic analysis and content preparation. Implementation through the AI Writing Guide website provides practical tools including prompt templates, annotated examples, and instructional materials that demonstrate superior results compared to intuitive methods. The systematic approach enables sophisticated stylistic control while building transferable analytical skills, with applications across educational, professional, and creative domains that democratize access to advanced communication techniques while preserving human creativity and judgment in the writing process
