In this recording, Jan M. Hunter is interviewed by Ryan Morini of the McCall Library at the University of South Alabama. Ms. Hunter recounts her experience as both a commuter student and living on campus. She speaks about driving to Dauphin Island with friends as a frequent and favorite pastime during her time at the university. Ms. Hunter talks about her former sorority, Kappa Delta, and her favorite professors. Later, she recalls her experience growing up as a daughter of a preacher in Mobile. She ends the interview thanking her teachers and saying that she is proud of the University of South Alabama

In this recording, Natasha Reed recalls her time living in the Alpha Halls at the University of South Alabama in the early 1990s. She was very involved, serving on the Alpha Area Council and as programming advisor. Ms. Reed was responsible for organizing activities for the residents, and believed that it was important for students to get to know each other and be a part of campus life. While pursuing her degree in English, she found South to be a very caring community away from home

Side Channel Detection of PC Rootkits using Nonlinear Phase Space
Cyberattacks are increasing in size and scope yearly, and the most effective and common means of attack is through malicious software executed on target devices of interest. Malware threats vary widely in terms of behavior and impact and, thus, effective methods of detection are constantly being sought from the academic research community to offset both volume and complexity. Rootkits are malware that represent a highly feared threat because they can change operating system integrity and alter otherwise normally functioning software. Although normal methods of detection that are based on signatures of known malware code are the standard line of defense, rootkits that have never been seen before (zero-day threats) are not easily defeated because of their ability to evade scanners and present false system information. In this research, we propose to evaluate a novel approach of rootkit detection based on collection of time-serial voltage data from the internal motherboard of standard desktop PCs
Impact of Salmonella enterica on Plant Physiology and Immunity
Salmonella can colonize plant tissue effectively. Understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying Salmonella’s interactions with plants is essential for developing effective strategies to reduce its impact on human health and agriculture. Effector proteins, known for their role in modulating host-pathogen interactions, have been implicated in the virulence and pathogenicity of Salmonella. However, their specific functions and contributions to Salmonella’s interactions with plants remain largely unknown.
