    No full text
This doctoral thesis aims to offer a proposal for monitoring training loads in professional basketball players through the use of low-cost tools that enable optimization of performance and reduction of injury risk in contexts with limited technological resources. The research is structured as a compendium of three scientific publications that address training load from different perspectives, all integrated into a model that is accessible, rigorous, and applicable in real practice. The study was conducted during the 2020/2021 season with the professional team Bilbao Basket, in a particularly complex environment shaped by the COVID-19 pandemic, which required constant adjustments in planning and significant logistical restrictions. Within this context, four monitoring tools were implemented: the Wellness questionnaire, the Rating of Perceived Exertion (RPE and sRPE), the Integrated System for the Analysis of Training Tasks (SIATE), and the Training Impulse (TRIMP), based on heart rate data. The first study designed and validated a monitoring proposal using the four mentioned tools. Through a structural equation modeling approach, it was shown that SIATE, RPE, and Wellness variables significantly predict TRIMP scores during the highest-load training session of the week. This proposal offers an efficient alternative to high-cost traditional methods, demonstrating the feasibility of monitoring internal and external loads in combination. The second study analyzed training load and player wellness in different weekly contexts: without competition, with one game, and with two or more games. The results indicated that perceived loads (sRPE) decrease progressively as the match approaches, while wellness remains stable when load management is adequate. This validates the joint use of Wellness and sRPE as effective indicators for adjusting weekly load planning according to competition density. The third study explored the fluctuation of internal (sRPE) and external (SIATE) loads throughout a full season. Significant correlations between the two variables were observed, supporting their combined use as an evaluation method. Furthermore, notable differences were found depending on the number of weekly games, with weeks without competition showing higher external loads, while weeks with two games had lower loads due to scheduling constraints. Together, these three studies converge into an integrated load monitoring model characterized by its applicability, low cost, and scientific robustness. The thesis proposes a methodology that can be adopted by coaches and practitioners lacking access to advanced technologies, enabling individualized planning tailored to the demands of the competitive environment. This research contributes to academic knowledge in the field of sports training while providing practical tools for realworld application, from professional sports to grassroots and developmental levels. It also establishes future lines of research focusing on replicating the model with larger samples, analyzing additional performance-related variables, and incorporating emerging technologies in training load monitoring.

The Castilla y León Film Commission (CYLFC) started its activities in 2013, but prior to its creation it had a precedent of two decades of experience in various public bodies dedicated to the management of film shoots. Thus, from the beginning, the CYLCF has become a key agent in the promotion of the region as an audiovisual destination, of interest for the attraction of the audiovisual industry and the projection of tourism. Its work includes assistance in permits, maintenance of a database of locations and management of film tourism, leveraging the impact of film and digital platforms on tourist attraction. Metaphors can influence people’s reasoning because of their ability to highlight or hide features of the target domain. In this article, we investigate the extent to which different metaphorical frames lead to different policy recommendations that best fit with the structure of the frame, as well as the role of age and gender to account for variation in the responses. We rely on four naturalistic metaphorical frames used during the media coverage of the COVID-19 pandemic: fight, fire, machine, and water. A total of 203 Spanish participants were randomly shown one of the five experimental conditions and were asked to (1) rate their perception of control over the health emergency and (2) recommend policy measures to stop the spread of the pandemic. To assess the extent to which participants had noticed the metaphorical frames, a third question was added where they had to indicate the words that had been most decisive in their answers. Results indicate that the fight frame increases the perception of control over the situation, but mostly for men and older participants; they were also more likely to prefer restrictive measures, whereas women and younger participants favoured a balance between restrictive and preventive policies. Finally, fire keywords were the most likely to be remembered by everyone, unlike the keywords from other frames. These findings shed light on the role of age and gender in moderating the effect of metaphorical framing

This article deals with the work Cyclonopedia of the philosopher Reza Negarestani as a proposal for developing the punctured space proposed by Gilles Deleuze. First, we will inscribe the ontological framework in which these spaces will move, based on Deleuzian philosophy, a philosophy of becoming, immanent, univocal, materialistic, and differential. The ultimate criterion for characterizing the spaces will be the sense of forces that Deleuze takes from Nietzsche. We will then explain the smooth and striated spaces worked by Deleuze and Guattari in A Thousand Plateaus and then we will give an account of Negarestani’s poro-mechanics, a perforated space where the protagonists will be the worms, the rats, and the scorpions. In the conclusions, we will present the figure of the outsider, a subversive agent antagonistic to the authoritarian power
