    Get PDF
Modern consumers prefer snacks not only to satisfy their hunger but also to provide themselves with essential nutrients. Nutri bar is a convenient and healthy ready-to-eat food which supplies balanced nutrients. The nutritional value of the bars depends heavily on their ingredients used. Cereal-legume complementation is one of the strategies to produce the nutri bar with good protein quality and therefore the present research was conducted to evaluate the effects of partially sprouted chickpea flour (PSCF) with high protein content and nutrients on physicochemical properties of cereal-based nutri bar. Five levels (0, 10, 20, 30 and 40%) of PSCF were combined with other ingredients based on 100% reducing cereals (wheat and oat). Physical and chemical properties were determined and sensory evaluation was assessed using 9 hedonic scales by 55 panelists. Nutri bar with 40% of PSCF was highest in crude protein (20.58%) and crude fiber content (8.91%) among the treatments. Although most of the physicochemical properties were good in 40% PSCF, the score of overall acceptability in sensory evaluation was highest in 20% PSCF. Therefore, PSCF can be successfully added up to 20% levels for high quality protein and balanced nutrients for manufacturing of cereal-based nutri bars

Cities and towns play an energetic role in promoting economic growth and wealth. Although less than a third of India's people live in cities and towns, these regions generate more than two-thirds of the country's 90% of the income and revenue of the government. In the years to come, as India becomes more and more urbanised, urban areas will play an important role in maintaining a high rate of economic growth. But, the pace of economic growth can be maintained if and only if cities function efficiently – that their resources are used to maximize the contribution of cities to national income. urban efficiency to a huge extent Much be contingent on the effectiveness of transportation systems, that is, the efficacy with which people and goods are moved throughout the city. Poor transportation systems impede economic growth and development, and the net effect can be loss of competitiveness in both domestic as well as international markets. Although vehicle proprietorship rates, the number of vehicles per capita, in Indian cities are lesser than their counterparts in developed countries, they suffer from worse congestion, delays, pollution and accidents than cities. industrial world. This paper provides an impression of the issues and challenges of urban transport in India. This paper first reviews leanings in vehicular development and availability of transport infrastructure in Indian cities. This is followed by an argument on the nature and greatness of urban transport problems such as overcrowding, effluence and road accidents. build on Background The paper proposes policy measures to improve urban transport in India

    Get PDF
Globalization and outside cultural influences increasingly threaten the retention of Zanzibar's unique cultural heritage rooted in Islamic, African, and Arab traditions developed over centuries along Indian Ocean trade routes. Within this context, Zanzibar's religious-based radio stations have rapidly gained prominence as contemporary guardians strive to both preserve and thoughtfully evolve cultural practices to retain relevance amidst accelerating homogenization. This mixed-methods study explores the complex roles religious radio plays in protecting threatened Zanzibari heritage, along with the key challenges they face, through a survey of 100 respondents and interviews with 20 media experts. Results reveal the majority of respondents rely heavily on religious radio for culture-focused programming and believe these stations bear primary responsibility for heritage safeguarding despite format limitations, globalized pressures, and resource constraints. Experts cite religious radio roles such as providing cultural awareness, promoting moral and spiritual values, facilitating cultural dialogue, and helping to overcome cultural diversity as pivotal for sustaining endangered cultural elements through context-rich oral narratives. However, challenges in lack of budget, specialized cultural personnel, digital archiving capabilities, and youth engagement threaten progress. By credibly adapting traditions and positioning culture as a modern public good, Zanzibar's faith-based stations may yet advance inclusive cultural dynamism. This study, therefore, illuminates an overlooked sphere upholding indigenous identities amidst accelerating deterritorialization. Findings inform regulatory policies and unveil nuanced programming tactics for strengthening sustainable cultural development in an era where preserving heritage requires globalized solutions but starts locally

Exploring the various forms of human sport and physical exercise has become a concern among historians of new social history. Sports, a crucial component of popular culture, represent historical traditions, national glory, and physical prowess. In Bengal, towards the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries, a variety of indigenous as well as traditional sports and physical activities were observed in numerous social rituals, religious ceremonies, and folk dances like Rāibenshe, Dhali Nach, Kathi Nach, Lathi Nach, Jhumur Nach, Dhamail, etc. With the help of these athletic pursuits, Bengal’s age-old martial tradition also became apparent, refuting colonial stereotypes of Bengalis as effeminate and promoting social dynamism and other recreational values. In this context, the present study attempts to explore the cultural implications of indigenous physical exercises and recreational activities that are embedded into Bengali traditional folk dances, taking into account the social structures and colonial milieu within which such activities persisted

    Get PDF
Cyber bullying is an electronic form of bullying and an emerging threat to the well-being of the young. It has adverse impacts on children and the paediatric population. The healthcare professionals or HCP and their involvement in the prevention and support of young victims are crucial. Little information is available for HCPs supporting cyber bullied children and adolescents. There is a need for more recent evidence in this area of research, mapping out the concepts and any gaps in knowledge. The current scoping review presents the literature about interventions that support young cyber bullying victims. This review utilized the five-step framework by Arksey et al. with recent advancements. Based on PRISMA-ScR guidelines for reviews, there were 24 articles and publications that were included in the review. The results reflect an overrepresentation of studies in Western Countries. Two studies conducted interventions, and specific screening tools are in six studies, including being recommended as clinical guidelines. The LET’S CONNECT community mentorship program, and the Bullying awareness group intervention showed promising findings and significant results for victims of cyber bullying. The commonly reported component was the screening of the victims. Supporting measures were also mentioned, such as assessment, prevention, appropriate management, early detection, and stabilization. The results also highlighted the roles of HCPs and clinical guidelines recommended in healthcare settings. This scoping review presented the current evidence available for youth cyber bullying victims. Although there is heterogeneity in studies, findings showed an excellent orientation on some interventions and components of studies to develop future research. The roles of healthcare professionals compiled by the researcher could serve as a baseline for further studies. Cross-cultural research could be explored in the future for comparative information. The lack of sample diversity, little comparison with interventions, and the heterogeneity of studies indicate a research gap in this area
