Digital Micro-entrepreneurship in Peer-to-Peer Accommodation Sector: Evidence from Sri Lanka
Objective: Digital micro-entrepreneurship in the tourism and hospitality industry is a novel phenomenon driven by accommodation sharing platforms like Airbnb. The purpose of the study is to explore the attributes, motivations, perceptions, benefits, and challenges faced by entrepreneurs in the peer-to-peer accommodation sector driven by the Airbnb Platform. Research Design & Methods: This study used a qualitative research design that followed inductive content analysis assisted by thematic analysis of semi-structured interviews with twelve micro-entrepreneurs who provide peer-to-peer accommodations in Sri Lanka. Findings: Peer-to-Peer accommodation entrepreneurs were motivated mainly by the curiosity to try Airbnb, followed by monetary and social gains. Amidst several challenges, such as the uncleanliness of some guests and violation of house rules, peer-to-peer micro-entrepreneurs enjoy their role as hosts and are satisfied with the overall hosting experience. Implications & Recommendations: The study provided peer-to-peer accommodation hosts a sense of empowerment and an opportunity to make their voice heard, which is crucial in developing an impartial public debate to develop the right policies for the peer-to-peer accommodation sector in Sri Lanka. Contribution & Value Added: The study contributes to the existing body of knowledge on entrepreneurship in the informal sector by viewing Airbnb hosts as informal microentrepreneurs with distinct attributes, motives, perceptions, benefits and challenges while providing valuable insights for various stakeholders in the industry
Manajemen UMKM dalam Menghadapi Covid-19 (Studi Kasus UMKM Susu Kedelai Plus “Man Jadda Wajada” Srandakan Bantul)
The purpose of this study was to determine the marketing management of UMKM during Covid-19 and to determine the production management of UMKM during Covid-19 in Gunung Saren, Trimurti, Srandakan, Bantul, Yogyakarta. The research method of this study is a qualitative field research with a case study on UMKM Soy Milk Plus Man Jadda Wajada. The data collection techniques include primary data and secondary data, primary data includes observation, interviews, and documentation. While secondary data includes, collection of books, articles, journals, documentation files, and library materials related to study. The results of the study show that production management has several considerations such as (1) the decision process regarding the production process which regulates the packaging cover and other production facilities, (2) the community's decision capacity regarding production capacity before and after the pandemic, (3) inventory decisions regarding the amount of inventory in production process, (4) quality to pay attention to the quality of the products delivered to consumers, (5) human resources regarding how the community and UMKM get each other's attention and motivation and support. The marketing management has several stages, (1) the planning stage through a door to door strategy, traditional markets, to schools, children's posyandu, and so on, (2) the organizing stage grouping five employees divided into sections, namely in milling, screening, cooking, packaging, and marketing sections, (3) the stage of driving this process all activities are carried out, where the leader or chairman of UMKM has to mobilize all employees, and provide motivation, encouragement and an example in leading, and (4) stage supervision oversees an activity or work in accordance with their respective main tasks
The Impactof PT PLN Tanjung Jati B's Corporate Social Responsibility on the Welfare of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a responsibility towards the environment in realizing the social welfare of the community. This study aims to determine the effect of the CSR of PT. PLN Tanjung Jati B on the welfare of the UMKM under its guidance. CSR indicators are the goals of corporate social responsibility (X1), corporate social issue (X2), corporate relations programs (X3) and the welfare of MSMEs (Y).This study uses primary data in the form of data obtained directly in the field, the research sample is 47 MSME CSR respondents guided by PT. PLN Tanjung Jati B 2019. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling. The study was conducted using questionnaires and interviews, the data analysis method used was quantitative method with multiple linear regression analysis approach.In a small scope, based on the results of the T Test (Partial Test), partially the corporate social responsibility goal variable (X1) from tcount 2,300> ttable 1,68107 shows that the goals of corporate social responsibility have a significant positive effect on the welfare of MSMEs. In corporate social problems (X2) from tcount 1.087 <ttable 1.68107 it shows that corporate social issue have a positive and insignificant effect on the welfare of MSMEs and in the corporate relations program variable (X3) from tcount 2.108> ttable 1.68107 shows that the company relations program has an effect significantly positive on the welfare of MSMEs. Meanwhile, the F test (Simultaneous Test) proves that the objectives of corporate socialresponsibility goal, corporate social issue, and the corporate relations program of PT. PLN Tanjung Jati B significantly affects the welfare of MSMEs by 14,445%
IMPLEMENTASI ALGORITMA APRIORI DALAM MENENTUKAN POLA PEMBELIAN (CAP N CHRIS CAFÉ & RESTO JEPARA) BERBASIS WEB
With the rapid advancement of technology at this time, there are many sales transactions received every day. The increase in sales certainly brings good. However, with the existence of sales activities, the sales data for the food menu is getting more and more. And the data only serves as an archive only.This study aims to create a website-based application with the Apriori Algorithm by utilizing sales transaction data, by determining the relationship between items from sales data, in this case the food or beverage ordered so that consumer purchasing patterns can be found. The results of research conducted from data from 16 transactions obtained 4 association rules with a minimum support of 3 and a minimum confidence of 60.Dengan adanya kemajuan teknologi yang pesat pada saat ini membuat banyaknya jumlah transaksi penjualan yang diterima setiap harinya. Jumlah kenaikan penjualan tentunya membawa kebaikan. Namun dengan adanya kegiatan penjualan membuat data penjualan menu makanan semakin lama semakin tambah banyak. Dan data tersebut hanya berfungsi sebagai arsip saja.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat aplikasi berbasis website dengan Algoritma Apriori dengan memanfaatkan data transaksi penjualan, dengan menetukan hubungan antar item dari data penjualan, dalam hal ini adalah makanan atau minuman yang dipesan sehingga dapat ditemukan pola pembelian konsumen. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan dari data 16 transaksi didapatkan 4 aturan asosiasi dengan minimun support 3 dan minimun confidence 6
Large Firms as Threats to Small Business Survival in South Africa: An Exploratory Literature Review
Objective: This study examined how large businesses negatively impact small business survival and growth in South Africa. It aims to expose harmful practices by large firms that cause small businesses to fail. Thus it seeks to challenge a commonly held assertion that larger firms are predisposed to support smaller firms to achieve growth and survival objectives. Research Design & Methods: A theoretical literature review methodology was used to conduct this study. Findings: The findings indicate that many of the threats from South African large firms targeted at small, micro and medium enterprises (SMMEs) emanate from the advantage of their size, market dominance, and close links the corporate business sector enjoys with the government. Implications & Recommendations: The study argues that larger firms in South Africa are as much of a catalyst for the demise of SMMEs as they can also be beneficial. Therefore it recommends an effective administration of the Competitions Act laws to protect SMMEs and develop new policies that seek to build SMMEs in their capacity and not as a complementary sector to big companies. Contribution & Value Added: The study contributes to the overall discourse about the role of the large business community in supporting the SMME sector in the country. It thus adds value towards broadening an understanding of the threats to small business survival in South Africa and finding solutions of how they can be supported to become viable
Pemberdayaan Masyarakat dalam Manajemen Bank Sampah di Desa Sekuro Kecamatan Mlonggo Kabupaten Jepara
Sampah merupakan sisa hasil buangan produk yang tidak digunakan lagi. Sampah menjadi salah satu permasalahan lingkungan yang paling besar, dimana jumlahnya akan terus bertambah jika tidak dikelola dengan baik. Bank Sampah merupakan program yang di dirikan untuk membantu pihak desa dan masyarakat dalam mengatur dan mengontrol pengelolaan sampah. Dalam pengelolaan bank sampah membutuhkan manajemen yang jelas agar dapat berjalan dengan baik. Program bank sampah di Desa Sekuro memiliki kesulitan dalam pelaksanaanya baik untuk pengurus di kantor maupun di lapangan karena menajemen pengelolaan sampah itu sendiri, serta skema kegiatan yang dilakukan. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk membantu dalam pengeloaan manajemen Bank Sampah Noto Resik di Desa Sekuro sebagai upaya untuk memberdayakan masyarakat setempat. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini meliputi persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan di desa Sekuro, Kecamatan Mlonggo, Kabupaten Jepara. Selanjutnya, data yang dibutuhkan diperoleh dengan teknik wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Model Promosi Pada Simpanan Berhadiah Dalam Meningkatkan Kuantitas Anggota di Baitul Maal wa Tamwil
Currently, competition for Islamic microfinance institutions is getting tougher. Various ways are done to attract customers' interest. However, some institutions still have not found the right promotion model. The purpose of this scientific research, the researcher explores the promotion model carried out by management to increase the quantity of members at BMT Mubarakah Kudus. After conducting a series of studies using systematic and measurable qualitative descriptive research methods, the following data can be obtained: the segmentation carried out by BMT is geographic segmentation, situation and use and benefits. The targeting carried out by BMT Mubarakah has been adjusted to the target market and positioning has also been carried out by BMT, so that by carrying out these three promotional models it can increase the quantity of deposit members with prizes at BMT Mubarakah. With this promotion model, there are several members who have savings accounts with prizes of more than 5 accounts, so the more accounts they have, the greater the opportunity for these members to get prizes drawn at the end of the period
Analisa Kapasitas Saluran Drainase Pada Jalan Raya Kelet - Bangsri
Drainage Jalan Raya Kelet - Bangsri, which is located in Jinggotan Village, Kembang District, Jepara Regency, is classified as an artificial drainage with a length of 725 meters. According to Muria News, “Jepara, 4/02/2020, it rained heavily from 10.30 to 15.00 on Jalan Raya Kembang - Bangsri, at that time there was a big flood which inundated the road as high as 30- 40 cm. Stagnant water occurs from the Flower Park to the Jinggotan bridge which is located to the south of SMA 1 Kembang. The flood disrupts the flow of local traffic, thereby inhibiting the speed of vehicles passing through it. "This research on the analysis of drainage capacity on Jalan Raya Kelet - Bangsri aims to determine the ability of drainage to drain wastewater, as well as to determine drainage capacity, and provide solutions to problems. the. In this previous research, what was done was to review the condition of the existing channel first, by collecting primary and secondary data then analyzing using HEC - RAS 5.0.7 software. Based on the problems that occurred on Jalan Raya Kelet - Bangsri drainage, it is necessary to analyze the drainage capacity, so that we can find out the solution for future planning. Hydrological analysis using HEC-RAS 5.0.7 software will make it easier to re-plan a drainage with a simulated channel condition. In the calculation analysis using the log distribution distribution log Pearson III because the value of Cs <1 from this method gets 2 years of rainfall 226.0757 mm, 5 years 285,6254 mm, 10 years 322,7451 mm so as to produce a planned flood discharge Q 2019 2.99 m3 / s, Q 2021 3.28 m3 / s, Q 2024 3.64 m3 / s, and Q 2029 4.04 m3 / s. whereas the HEC-RAS 5.07 software produces an average channel discharge of Q 2.43 m3 / s where Q Discharge> Q channel is stated that Q channel does not meet the requirements to drain flood discharge resulting in water runoff. For this reason, it is planned that U ditch with dimensions b = 1.2 m and h = 1.4 m with a manning roughness of 0.014 and a channel slope of 2.75%, from the analysis using HEC-RAS 5.0.7 software with U ditch dimensions b = 1.2 m and h = 1.4 m meet the requirements and are safe to accommodate flood discharge.Drainase Jalan Raya Kelet– Bangsri yang terletak di Desa Jinggotan, Kecamatan Kembang, Kabupaten Jepara, drainase ini tergolong kedalam drainase buatan dengan panjang 725 meter. Menurut Muria News “ Jepara, 4/02/2020, turun hujan deras dari pukul 10.30 hingga 15.00 di Jalan Raya Kembang – Bangsri, pada saat itu terjadilah banjir besar yang menggenangi jalan tersebut setinggi 30- 40 cm. Genangan air terjadi dari Taman Kembang sampai jembatan Jinggotan yang terletak di sebelah selatan dari SMA 1 Kembang. Banjir tersebut menganggu arus lalu lintas setempat sehingga menghambat laju kendaraan yang melewatinya.”Penelitian analisa kapasitas drainase pada Jalan Raya Kelet – Bangsri ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan drainase dalam mengalirkan debit air buangan, selain itu juga untuk mengetahui kapasitas drainase, dan memberikan solusi dari permasalahan tersebut. Pada penelitian ini sebelumnya yang dilakukan adalah dengan meninjau kondisi saluran eksisting terlebih dahulu, dengan mengumpulkan data primer maupun sekunder kemudian melakukan analisa menggunakan software HEC – RAS 5.0.7[1]. Berdasarkan permasalahan yang terjadi pada drainase Jalan Raya Kelet– Bangsri memang perlu adanya analisa kapasitas drainase, sehingga dapat mengetahui solusi untuk perencanaan kedepan. Dengan analisa hidrologi menggunakan software HEC-RAS 5.0.7 akan memudahkan untuk merencanakan kembali suatu drainase dengan dilengkapi simulasi kondisi saluran. Dalam analisa perhitungan menggunakan distribusi sebaran log pearson III karena nilai Cs < 1 dari metode tersebut mendapatkan curah hujan 2 tahun 226.0757 mm, 5 tahun 285.6254 mm, 10 tahun 322.7451 mm sehingga menghasilkan debit banjir rencana Q 2019 2,99 m3/s, Q 2021 3,28 m3/s, Q 2024 3,64 m3/s, dan Q 2029 4,04 m3/s. sedangkan pada sofware HEC – RAS 5.07 menghasilkan debit saluran rata – rata Q 2,43 m3/s dimana Q Debit > Q Saluran maka dinyatakan Q saluran tidak memenuhi persyaratan untuk mengalirkan debit banjir sehingga terjadi limpasan air. Untuk itu direncanakan U ditch dengan dimensi b = 1,2 m dan h = 1,4 m dengan kekasaran manning 0.014 dan kemiringan saluran sebesar 2,75 %, dari hasil analisa menggunakan software HEC-RAS 5.0.7 dengan U ditch dimensi b = 1,2 m dan h = 1,4 m memenuhi syarat dan aman untuk menampung debit banjir
Spatial and WTP Development Plan Perencanaan Pembangunan Spal Dan Ipal Untuk Sarana Peningkatan Kualitas Lingkungan Kampung Nelayan Tanjungsari Kabupaten Rembang
Domestic wastewater in Kelurahan Tanjungsari has not been properly managed, where the greywater is discharged directly into the drainage. Where the drainage is discharged directly at the sea, causing seawater pollution due to domestic waste. The purpose of this Final Project planning is to design SPAL and IPAL as a means of improving the environmental quality of Tanjungsari Village. The results of the study on the technical aspects showed that the average wastewater discharge of Tanjungsari Village was 69.36 L / person per day. The pipe diameter used in planning the development of SPAL and IPAL for this area is 100 mm or 4 inches. In planning SPAL and IPAL, Tanjungsari Village is equipped with several complementary buildings, namely as follows: 1) Manhole with a size of 70 cm x 70 cm x 100 cm, 2) Grease Trap with a size of 80 cm x 50 cm x 30 cm, 3) Control tub with size 60 cm x 40 cm x 30 cm, 4) Collecting Well with a size of 100 cm x 100 cm x 230 cm, 5) Distribution Box with a size of 100 cm x 50 cm x 130 cm, 6) IPAL 1 room with a size of 500 cm x 300 cm x 300 cm, 7) IPAL 2-5 rooms measuring 300 cm x 300 cm x 300 cm.Budget Plan The cost spent for planning the SPAL and IPAL for Tanjungsari Village is Rp. 3,059,073,121.37.Limbah dalam negeri di Kelurahan Tanjungsari belum dikelola dengan baik, di mana greywater diberhentikan langsung ke drainase. Dimana drainase habis langsung di laut, menyebabkan polusi laut karena limbah domestik. Tujuan dari rencana akhir proyek ini adalah untuk merancang SPAL dan IPAL sebagai sarana untuk meningkatkan kualitas lingkungan Tanjungsari Desa. Hasil dari penelitian pada aspek teknis menunjukkan bahwa limbah rata-rata debit dari Desa Tanjungsari adalah 69,36 L / orang per hari. Diameter pipa yang digunakan dalam perencanaan pengembangan SPAL dan IPAL untuk daerah ini adalah 100 mm atau 4 inci. Dalam perencanaan SPAL dan IPAL, Desa Tanjungsari dilengkapi dengan beberapa bangunan lengkap, yaitu sebagai berikut: 1) lubang dengan ukuran 70 x 70 cm x 100 cm, 2) Grease dengan ukuran 80 cm x 50 cm, 3 cm dengan ukuran 60 x 50 cm dengan ukuran 2, 3 cm dengan ukuran 60 x 50 cm cm x 300 cm, 7) kamar IPAL 2-5 berukuran 300 cm x 300 cm.Rencana Anggaran Biaya dihabiskan untuk merencanakan SPAL dan IPAL untuk Tanjungsari Desa adalah Rp. 3,059,073,121.37
Antecedents of Organizational Citizenship Behavior
Objective: This study aims to analyze the effect of transformational leadership, self-efficacy, and work loyalty on organizational citizenship behavior. Research Design & Methods: This study is explanatory research using a quantitative approach. The research sample was selected based on the proportional random sampling method from employees of one of the furniture companies in Jepara with a total of 89 people. Primary data was obtained using a questionnaire that was distributed to employees directly. Statistical data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression with SPSS tool. Findings: Empirically, the results of this study accept all the hypotheses proposed, that: transformational leadership style has a significant effect on organizational citizenship behavior; self-efficacy has been proven to have a significant effect on organizational citizenship behavior; and work loyalty proved to have a significant effect on organizational citizenship behavior. Implications & Recommendations: The results of this study support previous research and contribute to a literature study that emphasizes the issue of this research in the context of a company experiencing a decline in performance so that it requires an extra employee role (OCB). Contribution & Value Added: Based on the dominant variable analysis, the company can increase the extra role of employees by increasing employee loyalty. And then loyalty can be spurred by directing employees to work in teams
