SomaliREN Annual Report 2023 Highlights
This presentation is a highlight of the annual report which reflects on the accomplishments of SomaliREN over the past year, it highlights progress and initiatives outlined in the Annual Report for 2023. Among the notable achievements in the past year is the finalization of our new five-year strategy plan, which will guide SomaliREN’s endeavors from 2023 to 2028. Grounded in SomaliREN’s shared mission and values, this strategy plan sets forth ambitious goals and key initiatives aimed at advancing education, research, and innovation for our member institutions.
In addition to the development of the strategy plan, SomaliREN has made significant strides in advancing connectivity, capacity building, and innovation throughout the year. SomaliREN, in collaboration with Hormuud Telecom, successfully upgraded the fiber infrastructure for several member institutions’ campuses, enhancing connectivity performance and enabling seamless collaboration and knowledge exchange. Furthermore, Direct Engineering Assistance program has provided tailored support to address the unique needs and challenges faced by SomaliREN members, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of their network infrastructure. SomaliREN’s commitment to driving innovation through the delivery of cutting-edge services and resources for higher education and research institutions remains unwavering, as we continue to empower our members with the tools and support they need to excel in their academic and research endeavors
