This senior project examines the key elements that contribute to the success of a public relations campaign and how these elements can be leveraged to help a company effectively respond to and recover from a crisis. By analyzing high-profile campaigns like Spotify to Wicked, the project identifies best practices in brand communication, audience connection, and narrative control. Marketing research and a professional interview provide additional insight into real-world applications of PR strategies, offering a deeper understanding of how brands maintain trust and visibility during challenging times. Ultimately it provides a framework for how businesses can craft compelling PR campaigns that position them for long-term success and resilience
Exploring Female-Centered Storytelling Techniques in Travel Podcasting with \u27Chicks Take Flight\u27
The following study explores storytelling through the lens of podcasting to effectively engage audiences. This study addresses the gap in academic literature regarding gender-specific audio storytelling techniques by analyzing how narrative structure, vocal delivery, and content authenticity in podcasts specifically resonate with female audiences, providing practical applications for podcast creators targeting this demographic. Accompanying this literary research is a travel podcast titled Chicks Take Flight. This entertainment podcast tells the stories of young women’s travel experiences. Its goal is to provide a platform to discuss modern travel tips and stories for female audiences. Utilizing the podcasting advice from research findings along with a compilation of skills learned through my journalism education at California Polytechnic State University, I have created three interview based episodes aiming to entertain and educate on female travel related endeavors
A Journey for a Lifetime: A Case Study on Camp Ramah in California’s Staff Retention and Professional Development Practices
Summer camps, intending to provide exceptional experiences for their participants, have prioritized staff retention efforts. Camp Ramah in California has worked to keep staff year after year while providing opportunities for professional development. The purpose of this study was to examine the summer camp staff retention and professional development initiatives employed at Camp Ramah in California. A case study was conducted using a tool developed by the researcher to assess the staff retention and professional development practices implemented by Camp Ramah in California. Ramah has a staff retention and professional development system but does not always align with research-based practices. Recommendations include improving human resource systems, aligning staff journeys with life scripts, and continuous year-round engagement through in-person events and leadership training
