Alternative Road Economic Feasibility Study Medan-Berastagi Via Tuntungan Intersection-Sibolangit
As a sustainable from the research in 2019 regarding the Planning of the Medan-Berastagi Alternative Route that the Researchers have carried out, this year it is planned to conduct research related to the cost of construction and the feasibility of constructing the alternative route as a whole economy. It is important that a study be carried out immediately because of the importance of this alternative route considering the frequent occurrence of severe traffic jams due to accidents or natural disasters along this route in recent times. Knowing the development costs as well as the economic feasibility of this new route will help interested stakeholders in making decisions regarding this new route. The total construction cost which includes construction costs, design and supervision costs and land acquisition costs is IDR 1,171,518,647,736 while the annual routine maintenance costs are IDR 3,114,325,566 and periodic maintenance costs per five years are IDR 87,808,542,710. Calculation of Vehicle Operating Costs (VOC) is carried out by referring to Pacific Consultant International (PCI) standards while the Time Value calculation is adopted from the 2001 Bina Marga “Heavy Loaded Road Improvement Project – Master Plan Review” study (for Buses and Passenger Cars) and “Sumatera Region Road Project” PU (2000) for trucks. The existence of the Medan-Berastagi alternative road will save VOC of IDR 22,120,269,410 and Time Value savings of IDR 57,337,666,839 in 2023. The economic feasibility analysis results can be seen that the value of the Economic Internal Rate of Return is 12,06% greater than the current lending rates are in the range of 8-9%. At the prevailing interest rate of 10%, the Benefit Cost Ratio is 1.16 and the Net Present Values are IDR 204,496,000,000. These results indicate that the construction of the MedanBerastagi Alternative Road is economically feasible
Health Maintenance In The New Normal: An Analysis Of University Students' Awareness Using Clustering And Naïve Bayes
The new normal has posed significant challenges for students in maintaining their health. To address this issue, this study aimed to examine the awareness of university students in maintaining their health during this period using clustering and Naïve Bayes methods. The results of the study revealed two distinct clusters, "Aware" and "Not Aware," indicating that Indonesian students have varying levels of awareness regarding health precautions during the new normal. Most students are in the "Aware" cluster, suggesting a positive trend in health-conscious behavior among students in Indonesia. The Naive Bayes method was used to validate the cluster analysis, which resulted in an overall accuracy of approximately 96.25%. The study also found that the students are generally trying to maintain their health during the new normal, with most scoring between moderate and good. However, there are differences in the levels of effort put in by different age groups, with those aged 22 scoring lower. Moreover, students are generally making a good effort to maintain their health in public places during the new normal, but again, those aged 22 had the lowest scores. In terms of healthy food consumption, most students across all age groups scored a level of moderate consumption. The purpose of these findings is to inform policymakers and healthcare providers to develop sustainable programs for improving health awareness among students and addressing the challenges presented by the new normal
The Effect Of Financial Capability, Technology Usage And Prior Bank Experience Into Millenial Online Shopping Behavior
The rapid development of technology has made all aspects of human life easier. Online shop is a form of change brought about by technological developments. With an online shop, humans can shop wherever and whenever. This convenience, of course, must be followed by sufficient financial capabilities because the ease of shopping that is not followed by good financial capabilities will cause new problems, especially financial problems. With a quantitative approach, researchers want to find out whether Financial Capability, Technology usage, and prior bank experience influence a person's online shopping behavior. The sample in this study were residents of Jakarta and Tangerang aged between 19-34 years. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires through the Google Form. Meanwhile, to analyze, researchers used Smart-PLS 3.0 software. The results of the study concluded that financial capability has a positive effect on online shops, while technology usage and prior bank experience have no effect on online shops
Road Safety Awareness: Australian Road Crash Case Study
Road transportation accidents are a significant public health and safety issue worldwide. In Australia, regarding transport-related deaths, the age-standardized rate was higher in one specific year compared to the preceding year. This study aims to make visualization of crash data in Australia play a crucial role in understanding the country's current state of road safety and developing strategies to improve it. Data visualization techniques are essential in understanding and addressing road safety in Australia. New South Wales has the highest number of accidents in Australia, with 16,293 cases. Accidents in New South Wales are projected to decline gradually over the next three years. The peak time for accidents is 3 PM on weekdays, with males being more involved than females. Drivers are the most involved road users in accidents. Implementing targeted road safety initiatives, gender-specific awareness campaigns, and driver safety programs can help reduce accidents in New South Wales and create a safer environment for all road users. By analyzing accident data visually, patterns and trends can be identified, leading to targeted interventions and improved safety measures to reduce the number of accidents and fatalities on the roads
Application Of The Utmost Good Faith Principle In Life Insurance Business Management In Indonesia
The study focused on the purpose of this writing is to find out the application of the principle of utmost good faith in life insurance. The research method used in this study is to use data collection methods in library research or library research. In this literature study the author obtains the materials and library materials needed by studying books, writings, journal citations and statutory and legal products that are related to the subject matter according to topics in Indonesia so that it can be concluded that: first, legal principles in insurance coverage include insurable interest, utmost good faith, indemnity principle, subrogation principle, causaliteit principle, contribution principle, cause principle, follow of fortune. Second, the types of risk in insurance are pure and speculative risk, diversifiable and non-diversifiable risk, company risk, systemic risk, financial and non-financial risk, individual and group risk, static and dynamic risk. Third, the application of the principle of utmost good faith in life insurance is very important, because if there is submission of information and information that is incorrect, it can result in the insurance agreement being cancelle
Application Of The Sol-Gel Hydroxhapatite Synthesis Method From Green Clam Shell
Hydroxyapatite is the main mineral that makes up bones and teeth so that it has a level of similarity with the mineral parts of bones and can be used as an alternative bone substitute material. As an alternative material for bone substitution, hydroxyapatite has a fairly high economic value and is still dominated by imports from foreign countries. In an effort to reduce the level of imports of hydroxyapatite, research was carried out on green mussel shells as a source of calcium for the synthesis of hydroxyapatite. The synthesis of hydroxyapatite was carried out using the sol-gel method with raw materials for calcium precursors obtained from green mussel shells and varied concentrations of phosphoric acid (0.1 M, 0.5 M, 1 M; 1.5 M; and 2 M). Based on the analysis of the hydroxyapatite product produced using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry analysis, it was found that the ratio of Calcium-Phosphate (Ca/P) for H3PO4 concentrations was 0.1 M, 0.5 M, 1 M; 1.5M; and 2 M respectively by 1.73; 1.70; 1.67; 1.63; and 1.61. In addition, based on the results of the Fourier Transform Infra Red analysis, a random sample also found a Ca-O group; PO43; and OH- which is the main group of Hydroxyapatite and from SEM analysis the crystal morphology is known to be spherical, uneven and agglomerated so that in this study the synthesis of Hydroxyapatite using the sol-gel method was successfully carried out.
Recommender System for STEM Enrolment in Universities Using Machine Learning Algorithms: Case of Kenyan Universities
Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) enrolment has gained a lot of research interest. The increase in demand for STEM-based skill sets has contributed to the need for systems that could potentially increase enrolments in the field. The purpose of this study was to investigate recommender systems for STEM enrolment in universities using machine learning algorithms. Students face challenges while selecting STEM courses that match their attributes. This article aims to provide a recommender system for STEM enrolment using machine learning algorithms. The article investigates three machine learning algorithms which include Support Vector Machine (SVM), Artificial Neural Network (ANN), and Naïve Bayes. Accuracy and validation techniques were applied to test the algorithms. The results demonstrated that our work performed better than that of the published research, with the ANN outperforming other classification methods. The results position ANN as an important algorithm in building a recommender model for STEM higher education enrolment. The study also identifies high school grades and Interest in STEM courses as important features in predicting STEM course enrolment in higher education. The study will guide policy on the courses to lay more emphasis on, as well as for the funding authorities to prioritize funding allocation for STEM-based courses
Learn Muay Thai Basic Movement in Virtual Reality and Sattolo Shuffle Algorithm
Muay Thai is a martial art from Thailand that uses punches and various clinching movements. Muay Thai is one martial art whose popularity is growing and is in great demand, including in Indonesia. However, very few people still know the basics of this Muay Thai martial art. Therefore, a media that can introduce Muay Thai martial arts is needed. In this study, to introduce the basic movements of Muay Thai martial arts, Virtual Reality technology is used, which aims to make it easier for users to understand and practice basic Muay Thai movements correctly. In this study, the method used to design virtual reality games is the Sattolo Shuffle algorithm which functions to generate unique and different randomized Muay Thai movement animation results. To measure the level of user acceptance of learning Muay Thai using VR technology, the GUESS method is used. From the result of GUESS method, it was found the user acceptance rate is 83.84%, which means the user is "satisfied" with the application that has been made to learn basic Muay Thai. Based on this level of acceptance, it can be concluded, that the virtual reality game introducing Muay Thai using the sattolo shuffle algorithm can be used as an alternative tool to learn basic Muay Thai
Strengthening The Defense Industry's Independence Through The Internet Of Things In The Manufacturing Sector: A Review
Digitalization is needed by manufacturing companies in organizing sustainable, data-driven, effective and efficient, safe defence and security equipment production activities. Utilization of Internet of Things (IoT) in Indonesia is said to still have many deficiencies, resulting in many cases of data leakage, both government and private sector data. The purpose of this research is to review the conditions of the use of the IoT in various industrial sectors, the challenges, and the potential for development in the Indonesian defence industry. A literature review approach is combined with a qualitative method in this study. The results of this study found that the application of IoT to Indonesia's defence industry is necessary in order to increase the level of local content, complement and strengthen defence and security equipment, and reduce the burden of production activities. In addition to production needs, IoT can filter information or data on weapons or combat vehicles when used in field tasks and then become the basis for making subsequent products
The Influence of BI Rate, Inflation, and Exchange Rate on The IDX Composite Stock Index (IHSG)
This study investigates the impact of variations in the BI rate, inflation rate, and the USD/IDR (US Dollar to Indonesian Rupiah) exchange rate on the IDX Composite Index (IHSG). The Composite Stock Price Index is one of the resources that investors use to choose their investing strategy. Inflation, exchange rates, business interest rates, and the IHSG are among the variables that make up the sample used in this study, which spans 60 months from January 2015 to December 2019. The analysis of the data was done using multiple regression methods. According to the findings, the IHSG is negatively impacted by changes in the BI rate, positively impacted by changes in the USD/IDR exchange rate, and not impacted at all by changes in the inflation rate. Additional analysis should look at additional potential macroeconomic factors.
