Assertiveness Measurement Tools Development In Assessing Assertive Behavior In Eviction Victims In Jakarta

    No full text
Evictions as a social phenomenon have several negative impacts on the community, such as not only losing their homes but also affecting jobs, daily livelihoods, children's schools, women and social impacts such as losing long- established kinships. Evictions on a large scale accompanied by inappropriate relocation programs will cause economic and socio-cultural impoverishment for the community, which also leaves a traumatic impact. In the legal aspect, evictions can also result in violations of the basic rights of their own citizens. The purpose of this study is to develop a psychological measurement tool in assessing assertive behavior in eviction victims in DKI Jakarta. The measuring instrument was developed based on Jakubowski and Lange's (1978) assertiveness construct. After testing its validity and reliability, this assertiveness measuring instrument has a high reliability and validity coefficient because it is close to 1. In testing the validity, only a few statement items are invalid, and there are some items that are discarded because they do not have a standard t-value of 1.96, as well as a loading factor that also does not exceed the expected value. This is possible because the dimensions in assertiveness are indeed dimensions that really measure individual assertiveness

    No full text
This study aims to examine religiosity, spirituality, and paternalistic leadership's direct influence on Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) or through job satisfaction variables in the Creative Industry sector in Indonesia. This research can be categorized as explanatory research. This research was conducted in Indonesia's creative industry, divided into 16 business fields with a total sample of 406 employees. This study found that religiosity, spirituality, and paternalistic leadership positively and significantly affect OCB. However, suppose through the moderating variable of job satisfaction, the correlation coefficient is smaller than the direct correlation coefficient. In that case, it can be concluded that job satisfaction is not an appropriate moderating variable for the variable religiosity, spirituality, and paternalistic leadership towards OCB. From this study, we can conclude that religiosity, spirituality, paternalistic leadership, and job satisfaction in employees and organizational leaders need to be improved because they are proven to affect OCB directly. Thus, it will also affect individual and organizational performance

A critical analysis of the Role of Social Media in Shaping National Well-Being

Through its impact on a variety of societal factors, such as personal psychological health (PH), community involvement, political debate, and social connection, social media significantly shapes national well-being. Evaluating social media's influence on molding national well-being is essential for resolving its impacts and optimizing its advantages, despite the fact that it may have both good and bad consequences. This research investigates the relationship between adolescents’ psychological health (PH) and social media utilization. The information was collected over the course of several years as part of a research project known as "The Korean Youth Panel Survey (KYPS)." It is anticipated that hierarchical linear models (HL) will be used to investigate the psychological effects of using the Internet. The analysis demonstrates that social media usage on the internet has a negative correlation with students' mentalwell-being as indicated by self-expressed psychological health issues and thoughts of suicide (TOS) while retaining steady “a variety of time-lagged control factors at the individual (student) and contextual (school) levels." Since much prior research on the benefits and drawbacks of using digital social media relies on cross-sectional information, causal inference is not possible. This study provides more convincing proof of the direction of causality by employing longitudinal information

Abstract This study investigates the coverage of conflict and peace issues in Nigerian newspapers, specifically focusing on Punch and Daily Trust. The research aims to achieve three primary objectives: assess the frequency of conflict and peace reportage in both newspapers, determine the level of prominence given to these issues by Punch and Daily Trust, and identify the categories under which such issues are reported. The study draws on the Agenda-Setting Theory and Framing Theory to provide a comprehensive analysis. Using a quantitative content analysis approach, the study examines stories related to conflict and peace issues published in the selected newspapers from January 2019 to July 2019. The key findings reveal distinct patterns in the reportage of conflict and peace matters. Punch exhibits a higher emphasis on certain categories like "Calamity/Killing," "Prevention," and "Warning," while Daily Trust places greater prominence on the "Call for Peace" theme. Moreover, the study unveils variations in the prominence given to different categories across the newspapers. The study concludes that the nuanced ways in which Punch and Daily Trust cover conflict and peace issues is based on their editorial decisions in shaping public awareness and discussions. Based on the study's outcomes, it is recommended that newspapers strategically consider their coverage of conflict and peace topics, fostering greater balance and comprehensive reporting. By adhering to these recommendations, newspapers can contribute to more informed public discourse on crucial societal matters
