Solar Energy-Based Fisheries Appropriate Technology Program Pokmas Water Resources Management Purwosari Village, Wonogiri

    Get PDF
Agriculture, livestock, and fisheries are key sectors that support the economic life of the majority of the Purwosari village community. They face environmental and social vulnerabilities, while also facing economic vulnerability. This is achieved by transforming traditional technologies currently used by the community to increase fisheries yields and downstream marketing through Free Nutritional Meal Kitchens (MBG) in the surrounding Wonogiri area. Strengthening village human resource development through the empowerment of Appropriate Technology (PTTG) in Purwosari Village, Wonogiri, aims to encourage energy independence in the economic activities of community groups. This includes strengthening the human resources of the Purwosari village community health post (Posyantek) for the construction of 200W solar cell TTGs and 2000W converters, solar-powered pond water pumps, and the construction of aquaculture ponds; and for freshwater fisheries. In general, the assembly of solar-powered water pump models can be adapted to field conditions and market availability. The core of this assembly is converting the electricity supply from the state electricity company (PLN) into electricity from natural sources (sunlight). The necessary equipment includes: Solar panels/solar cells (photovoltaic), controller, inverter, battery, cables, and mounting frame. The life cycle cost calculation for a solar-powered fisheries system at the PSDA Community Group (Pokmas PSDA), with solar-powered pumps and lights, shows a cost efficiency of Rp. 61,600,000 – Rp. 19,665,000 = Rp. 41,935,000 (assuming the equipment's life cycle cost is 10 years), resulting in a cost savings of 67%.   Keywords: Fisheries, PSDA Community Group, Solar Energy, TT

ABSTRACT Background: People with disabilities, especially the blind, are members of society who have limited vision. Therefore, they require specific methods to learn certain skills to earn a living. One such skill suitable for the blind is massage therapy, which can be learned without relying on sight, but relying on the sense of touch. Purpose: This paper aims to describe the experience of training blind people to perform a special massage treatment called Tuina Chuzhen. Methods: The experience of training blind people to perform Tuina Chuzhen massage is described chronologically and systematically from facts and primary data collected during six training sessions at the Daya Dharma Institute of the Archdiocese of Jakarta, with support from traditional Chinese medicine experts from the Nalanda Institute. Main Results: The Tuina Chuzhen massage training for 20 blind people went smoothly during six sessions over a period of one month. The training participants successfully mastered the Tuina Chuzhen method using the provided short wooden rods. Mastery of these skills was evident in the participants' recognition and their ability to pass the competency test conducted by the Nalanda Institute's assessment team after the training. Conclusion: Tuina Chuzhen massage training can bring tangible benefits to the visually impaired. Keywords: Massage, tuina Chuzhen, disability, visual impairment

Banjarbendo is one of the villages in Sidoarjo (East Java) that still has land which has not been optimally utilized. The village covers an area of approximately 130 hectares (ha), with around 110 ha of built-up land, while the remaining area is classified as idle land. Idle land refers to land that is left abandoned without agricultural, plantation, or other productive activities. This issue can be addressed through the CMVP (Community Movement for Vegetable Planting) program, which supports the government’s efforts in improving community nutrition and strengthening local food security. The objective of this Community Service Program is to provide assistance to the local community in utilizing idle land for the development of urban farming of vegetables. The activity uses a participatory method, involving partners directly in each activity. The results of the activity show that partners responded positively and were active in the activity, willing to try growing spinach, kale, mustard greens, tomatoes, eggplant, large and small chilies using donated seeds and seedlings. The evaluation results show that there has been an increase in community awareness and understanding regarding the use of idle land for healthy vegetable production

Integrating modern leadership approaches with local wisdom remains a challenge in enhancing the quality of education in Indonesian higher education institutions. This study examines the impact of integrating instructional leadership with ethnopedagogy based on the Dalihan Na Tolu philosophy on learning quality at Graha Nusantara University. Using a mixed-method approach with a sequential explanatory design, the study involved 50 lecturers selected through systematic random sampling and 100 students. Data were collected through validated questionnaires (validity coefficients ranging from 0.72 to 0.89; reliability with Cronbach's Alpha of 0.88), in-depth interviews, and participatory observations. The findings reveal that instructional leadership independently accounts for 67 percent of the variation in learning quality (coefficient of determination, R-squared = 0.670, with p < 0.001), with key determinants being guidance (correlation coefficient = 0.820) and vision-mission communication (correlation coefficient = 0.790). Ethnopedagogical leadership contributes significantly through the values of Somba Marhula-hula (regression coefficient = 0.45), Manat Mardongan Tubu (regression coefficient = 0.41), and Elek Marboru (regression coefficient = 0.38). The integration of these approaches produces significant synergistic effects (R-squared = 0.830), resulting in a 70 percent increase in active interaction, a 68 percent improvement in the effectiveness of learning strategies, and a 66 percent boost in productivity. This study contributes to developing an integrated leadership model that combines modern values with local wisdom. It also provides practical implications for designing training programs and implementing dual-approach monitoring systems in higher education institutions

Analyzing the Critical Thinking Skills of 5th Grade Students on the Respiratory System Material Using a Qualitative Descriptive Method

    Get PDF
Critical thinking skills are crucial for preparing students to face complex real-world problems and are a key component of 21st-century learning. This study aims to identify the critical thinking skill profile of 5th-grade elementary school students on the respiratory system material. Critical thinking is an essential skill in 21st-century education, particularly for developing students' abilities in analysis, evaluation, and argumentation. However, it is often neglected in science education at the elementary level. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with survey techniques. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and classroom observations to assess students' critical thinking skills. The results indicate that among the 30 students tested, 15 were categorized as Fair, 12 as Low, and only 3 as Good. No student achieved the Very Good or Very Low category. The analysis of critical thinking indicators including analyzing, evaluating, composing arguments, and problem-solving reveals that while students possess a basic understanding, they struggle with more advanced critical thinking tasks. The study concludes that students' critical thinking skills remain limited to basic comprehension. This limitation is attributed to the dominance of rote learning methods and the lack of interactive and problem-solving-based instructional strategies. Future teaching approaches should prioritize active learning and the integration of critical thinking practices to enhance students' higher-order thinking skills

January to October 2024 is the time when this study was carried out using a survey method and a sampling technique using proportional random sampling. Cibeureum Village is a research location located in Sukamantri District, Ciamis Regency with a total of 32 respondents from red chili farmers. Cibeureum Village was chosen as the research location because it is a central village producing red chili in Sukamantri District. This study uses the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) approach which uses input orientation with the assumption of the Variable Return to Scale (VRS) model. The production factors used are land, manure, seeds, NPK fertilizer, agricultural lime, herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, male labor and female labor. Based on the research results, the average values of technical, allocative and economic efficiency obtained for red chili farming in Cibeureum Village were respectively 0.978, 0.884 and 0.865, which means that the red chili farming business is not yet efficient technically, allocatively and economically.
