Filosofía en la sociedad actual: ¿está obsoleta o aún tiene valor?
Get PDFA reflection on the current relevance of philosophy is presented, contrasting the anti-philosophical positions with those that promote this type of discipline. It is mentioned that philosophy is not only a type of knowledge, but also represents a journey through ideas that a subject makes to find unity in reality. Likewise, the role of philosophy in some historical-revolutionary processes is considered relevant. It is pointed out that there is a crisis marked by the current tendency towards simplification and the search for quick results. However, philosophy is reflective, profound and seems to be opposed to mercantile interests since it does not seek immediate objectives. This paper raises arguments against philosophy such as the idea that it is an abstract, unintelligible activity, dangerous for youth as it encou- rages rebelliousness and socially has less value than any form of entertainment. On the other hand, there are also arguments in favor of philosophy, highlighting its questioning capacity, its usefulness in facing life\u27s problems, and its role in the cultivation of introspection. Philosophy elaborates social critiques that are necessary to be aware that, in the midst of so much technological progress, there are still people in the world who suffer.Se presenta una reflexión sobre la relevancia actual de la filosofía contrastando las posturas antifilosóficas con aquellas que promueven este tipo de disciplina. Se menciona que la filosofía no es solo un tipo de conocimiento, sino que también representa un viaje por medio de las ideas que realiza un sujeto para encontrar unidad en la realidad. Asimismo, se considera relevante el papel de la filosofía en algunos procesos histórico-revolucionarios. Se señala que existe una crisis marcada por la tendencia actual hacia la simplificación y la búsqueda de resultados rápidos. Sin embargo, la filosofía es reflexiva, profunda y parece opuesta a los intereses mercantiles ya que no busca objetivos inmediatos. Este escrito plantea argumentos contra la filosofía tales como la idea de que es una actividad abstracta, ininteligible, peligrosa para la juventud ya que fomenta la rebeldía y socialmente tiene menos valor que cualquier forma de entretenimiento. Por otro lado, también existen argumentos a favor de la filosofía en los que se destaca su capacidad cuestionadora, su utilidad para hacerle frente a los problemas de la vida y su rol en el cultivo de la introspección. Identidad cultural fortalece actitud intercultural en estudiantes de institución educativa en Oxapampa, Pasco
Get PDFThe general objective was to demonstrate that cultural identity strengthens the intercultural attitude in the students of the Educational Institution No. 35005 Reverend Father Bardo Bayerle of the Province of Oxapampa 2022. The following methodology was used. Of an applied type, it was proposed to make use of theoretical information of explanatory scope, and an experimental design, with its variant: quasi-experimental with pre-test and post-test in 2 groups, which from now on are called control group and experimental group. . The technique used is the survey since it is a procedure for quantitative research, and the instrument that was used was the questionnaire on the dependent variable. The population is made up of (339) students from the Educational Institution, and the sample consisted of 34 students from the 5th year "A" and 34 from the 5th year "B" making a total of 68 students. The main conclusion was to demonstrate that cultural identity positively strengthens the intercultural attitude, thus demonstrating that there is an improvement in the intercultural attitude of students by promoting dialogue and permanent discussion between different cultural knowledge and practices.En el objetivo general de la investigación se demostró que la identidad cultural fortalece la actitud intercultural en los estudiantes de la Institución Educativa N° 35005 Reverendo Padre Bardo Bayerle de la Provincia de Oxapampa 2022. Se consideró la siguiente metodología. Investigación aplicada de alcance explicativo, y diseño experimental, con su variante: cuasi-experimental con pre test y post test el trabajo se realizó con un grupo control y un grupo experimental. La técnica que se utilizó fue la encuesta ya que es un procedimiento para la investigación cuantitativa, y el instrumento fue el cuestionario para medir la variable dependiente. La población estuvo constituida por (339) estudiantes de la Institución Educativa, y la muestra estuvo conformada por 34 alumnos del 5to año “A” y 34 del 5to año “B” haciendo un total de 68 alumnos. La conclusión principal fue demostrar que la identidad cultural fortalece de manera positiva la actitud intercultural por lo que se demostró que existe una mejoría en la actitud intercultural de los estudiantes promoviendo el diálogo, y discusión permanente entre conocimientos y prácticas culturales distintas

Get PDFEducational models have experienced drastic changes in the first decades of the 21st century, influenced by the emergence of new technologies such as ICT and AI. These changes are rooted in the philosophical and anthropological assumptions of postmodernity, marked by the relativization of truth and the emergence of a media society. The research aims to critically analyze contemporary and postmodern education from the perspective of Xavier Zubiri, a Spanish philosopher. Zubiri advocates an approach that recognizes reality as an objective and transcendent entity, leading to a concept of truth based on consistency between reality and human knowledge. This perspective allows us to rethink education as a process that seeks the holistic development of the person, in line with the Greek tradition of paideia. Philosophical hermeneutics is applied as a methodology, focusing on contextualized understanding, dialogue, the horizon of meaning, critical interpretation and educational ethics, with the aim of improving the quality and relevance of education.Los modelos educativos han experimentado drásticos cambios en las primeras décadas del siglo XXI, influenciados por la irrupción de nuevas tecnologías como las TICs y la IA. Estos cambios están arraigados en presupuestos filosóficos y antropológicos de la posmodernidad, marcados por la relativización de la verdad y la aparición de una sociedad mediática. La investigación se propone analizar críticamente la educación contemporánea y posmoderna desde la perspectiva de Xavier Zubiri, un filósofo español. Zubiri aboga por un enfoque que reconoce la realidad como una entidad objetiva y trascendente, lo que lleva a un concepto de verdad basado en la consistencia entre la realidad y el conocimiento humano. Esta perspectiva permite repensar la educación como un proceso que busca el desarrollo holístico de la persona, en línea con la tradición griega de la paideia. La hermenéutica filosófica se aplica como metodología, enfocándose en la comprensión contextualizada, el diálogo, el horizonte de sentido, la interpretación crítica y la ética educativa, con el objetivo de mejorar la calidad y relevancia de la educación

On the other hand, taking as a reference the Kalama Sutta, an ancestral text within the Theravada Buddhist tradition, we will try to show how, through a careful interpretation, a conception of philosophy can be elaborated in the light of the skepticism that, it is believed, is commonto both traditions.El problema que ha existido a la hora encontrar una definición global de filosofía que incluya, tanto a los pensadores occidentales, así como a los orientales, ha supuesto un desafío a causa de las diferencias, métodos, corriente, sistema y pensador de cada escuela en particular. Dentro de la tradición oriental, las diferencias epistemológicas entre filosofía, religión y mística cruzan una delgada línea que, en oportunidades, no halla diferencia debido a que no es posible desligar el sentido religioso al filosófico y viceversa, ambas vertebral sistema total de una doctrina y se precisan para su comprensión. Get PDFThis brief text outlines what is one of the most limiting vices of academic philosophy from the 19th century onwards: the total and naïve confidence in the capacities of pure reason and in the support of science. The choice of the date is based on the fact that the nineteenth century is "the century of the Enlightenment", and that behind this denomination there are hidden glimpses of disdain towards other periods and forms of thought. Starting from this problem, I delve into how the name was established with the use and abuse of ordinary language, and what are the effects of not conceiving the philosophical exercise outside the limits of "enlightened reason".Este texto esboza uno de los vicios más limitantes que arrastra la filosofía académica desde el siglo XIX en adelante: la confianza total e ingenua en las capacidades de la razón pura y en el apoyo de la ciencia. La elección de la fecha se fundamenta en que el siglo XIX es “el siglo de las luces”, y en que tras dicha denominación se esconden atisbos de desdén hacia otras épocas y formas de pensamiento. Dirphia avia (Lepidoptera: Saturniidae: Hemileucinae) asociada a Erythrina fusca (Fabales: Fabaceae): un nuevo registro en Boquete, Chiriquí, Panamá
Get PDFThe subfamily Hemileucinae (Lepidoptera: Saturniidae) includes species whose stinging larvae can affect human health when their spines connected to poison glands come into contact with the skin (erucism). The genera Lonomia, Hylesia, Dirphia and Automeris are present in Panama and are of medical importance. Recently in green areas of Boquete, Chiriquí province, numerous presences of gregarious larvae provided with thorns was observed on the trunk and foliage of a palo santo or pito tree (Erythrina fusca), so the aim of the present study was to identify the species of stinging larva associated with this legume. To do this, foliage samples and seven larvae were collected with the help of plastic containers, avoiding direct contact with them. The specimens were passed through hot water and then placed in 70% ethanol for observation and identification in the laboratory, with the help of specialized literature. According to the results, the species corresponds to Dirphia avia (Stoll, 1780), present in Central and South America and with previous reports in four other locations in the country. However, this finding represents a new report for the Boquete district, Chiriquí province. In conclusion, the species of stinging larva associated with E. fusca in green areas of Boquete corresponds to D. avia, so it is recommended that people avoid direct contact with the insect and if an accident due to erucism occurs, seek medical attention.La subfamilia Hemileucinae (Lepidoptera: Saturniidae), comprende especies cuyas larvas urticantes pueden afectar la salud de las personas, cuando sus espinas conectadas a glándulas de veneno entran en contacto con la piel (erucismo). Los géneros Lonomia, Hylesia, Dirphia y Automeris están presentes en Panamá y son de importancia médica. Recientemente en áreas verdes de Boquete, provincia de Chiriquí, se observó en el tronco y follaje de un árbol de palo santo o pito (Erythrina fusca), la presencia numerosa de larvas gregarias provistas de espinas, por lo que el propósito del presente estudio fue identificar la especie de larva urticante asociada a esta leguminosa. Para ello, se recolectaron muestras de follaje y siete larvas con ayuda de recipientes plásticos, evitando el contacto directo con las mismas. Los especímenes fueron pasados por agua caliente para luego depositarlos en etanol al 70% para su observación e identificación en el laboratorio, con ayuda de literatura especializada. De acuerdo con los resultados, la especie corresponde a Dirphia avia (Stoll, 1780), presente en Centro y Suramérica y con reportes previos en otras cuatro localidades del país. Sin embargo, este hallazgo representa un nuevo reporte para el distrito de Boquete, provincia de Chiriquí. En conclusión, la especie de larva urticante asociada a E. fusca en áreas verdes de Boquete corresponde a D. avia, por lo que se recomienda a las personas evitar el contacto directo con el insecto y de ocurrir algún accidente por erucismo acudir a atención médica
Contribución de la apicultura con los 17 objetivos de desarrollo sostenible
Get PDFThe aim of this work was to determine how beekeeping can contribute to the achievement of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). To this end, a participatory workshop was developed between researchers, technicians, undergraduate and graduate students (n = 10), during which the contribution of beekeeping activity was reviewed and discussed through three main components, in each of the 17 SDGs; which was compared with specialized literature on the subject. According to the results, the possibility of generating jobs and income in communities with gender equality and opportunities, contributes directly to SDGs 1, 5, 8, 10 and 16; ecosystem services such as the protection of biodiversity against climate change through the pollination of wild and cultivated plants, as well as the possibility of obtaining nutraceutical foods, contribute to SDGs 2, 3, 11, 13, 14 and 15; being able to innovate and integrate beekeeping as part of social and environmental education in a participatory manner in different areas, contributes to the achievement of SDGs 4, 6, 7, 9, 12 and 17. In conclusion, beekeeping can directly contribute to each of the 17 SDGs, given that the interactions promoted by these insects in agroecosystems give rise to sustainable productive diversification, social inclusion, as well as community growth and development. It is recommended that this analysis be practiced in various agricultural initiatives and projects, given that it is a requirement formally established by some national and international financial entities.El objetivo del presente trabajo fue determinar cómo la apicultura puede contribuir con el logro de los 17 Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS). Para ello, se desarrolló un taller participativo entre investigadores, técnicos, estudiantes de pregrado y postgrado (n = 10), durante el cual se revisó y discutió el aporte de la actividad apícola mediante tres componentes principales, en cada uno de los 17 ODS; lo cual fue cotejado con literatura especializada sobre la temática. Según los resultados, la posibilidad de generar empleos e ingresos en las comunidades en igualdad de género y oportunidades, contribuye directamente con los ODS 1, 5, 8, 10 y 16; servicios ecosistémicos como la protección de la biodiversidad frente al cambio climático mediante la polinización de plantas silvestres y cultivadas, así como la posibilidad de obtener alimentos nutracéuticos, contribuyen con los ODS 2, 3, 11, 13, 14 y 15; el poder innovar e integrar este rubro como parte de la educación social y ambiental de manera participativa en diferentes ámbitos, contribuye con el logro de los ODS 4, 6, 7, 9, 12 y 17. En conclusión, la apicultura puede contribuir directamente con cada uno de los 17 ODS, dado que las interacciones propiciadas por estos insectos en los agroecosistemas dan lugar a la diversificación productiva sostenible, la inclusión social, así como el crecimiento y desarrollo comunitario. Se recomienda que este análisis sea practicado en diversas iniciativas y proyectos agropecuarios, dado que es una exigencia establecida formalmente por algunos entes financieros a nivel nacional e internacional
Isolation and Characterization of Bacterial Strains Contaminating the Metallic Keyboards of Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) of Commercial Banks in Akure Metropolis
Get PDFBackground. Automated Teller Machine (ATM) contamination occurs indiscriminately in cities. ATMs have become a medium for transmitting infectious diseases; hence, this study was carried out to examine the level of bacterial contamination on ATM keyboards. Methods. Samples were collected from the metallic keyboards of ATMs at nine different commercial banks using moistened commercial sterile swab sticks and sterilized peptone water. After collection, samples were plated on different agar forms using the pour-plating method and incubated at 37°C for 24 hours. The bacterial isolates were culturally identified and molecularly characterized using 16s rRNA Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), DNA gene extraction, and sequence blasting. Results. The bacterial isolates identified include Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Shigella dysenteriae, Salmonella typhi, and Staphylococcus aureus, among others. 16s rRNA sequencing confirmed the presence of Escherichia coli strain NBRC 102203, Pseudomonas aeruginosa DSM 50071, Salmonella typhi SKST, Shigella dysenteriae ATCC 13313, and Staphylococcus aureus S33R. Conclusion. ATM keyboards are contaminated with various bacterial genera, with Staphylococcus aureus being the most prominent bacterium found. Therefore, adequate measures to ensure safety when using ATMs are necessary
