Linking Service-oriented High-Performance Work Practices Bundle with Person-job Fit, Person Organization Fit and Affective Commitment: A Parallel Mediation Analysis
Affective commitment, having diverse perspectives, is a challenge of the day. The study examines the effect of high-performance work practices (HPWP) on Affective commitment in the Telecom sector of Pakistan through the mediating role of Person-job fit, and Person-organization fit between HPWP and Affective commitment. The study framework strengthens from the Theory of Work Adjustment (Afshan & Motwani) and the Social exchange theory (SET). The purposive sampling technique used 350 questionnaires distributed among employees and 290 returned. Findings show an insignificant direct relationship between HPWP [Career development, Training and development, and Performance appraisal] and Affective commitment. Whereas person-job fit and person-organization fit fully mediate the association among high-performance work practices with Affective commitment
Review of Individual Differences through Ability-based Emotional Intelligence: An Examination of Resistance to Change
This study investigates the sequential mediating effects of individual conflict on change and emotional intelligence between age and work outcomes, explained through the ability-based model of expressive intellect. In light of the increasingly diverse workforce, it is interestingly important to investigate individual differences in the context of organisational change. Thus, the study also aims to measure the association between age and individual conflict to alteration, considering the length of service as the moderating variable. The study collected data from 413 respondents working in the telecom sector in Punjab, Pakistan. SmartPLS (v 3.2.7) was employed to investigate the measurement model and the structural model. The findings revealed that individual resistance to change and emotional intelligence sequentially mediate the association between age and work results. Work also generates the moderating effect of service length with age and individual resistance to change. The study's limitations included a cross-sectional design, which prevents us from concluding causality. The study makes significant theoretical and practical contributions to organisational change management
Homework: Exploring Teachers’ Beliefs and Practices in Primary Schools of Southern Punjab: Exploring Teachers’ Beliefs and Practices in Primary Schools
Assigning homework to students is generally seen as a worthwhile strategy to engage them with learning and consequently it is practiced in many schools. Although it is perceived to have both positive and negative effects on students, it is the nature and focus of homework tasks that actually decides its effectiveness for students’ learning. The focus of homework tasks may be on practice, preparation and on extensive-creative tasks, from practice to application. Despite the significant role of homework in students’ learning, this area has not much been explored in schools of Southern Punjab, Pakistan. The main purpose of this research study is, therefore, to explore teachers’ beliefs and practices about homework in primary schools of southern Punjab, Pakistan. Alignment with purpose of study, this research adopted qualitative research approach. All public sector primary schools’ teachers in schools of two Tehsils of Multan, namely, Multan City and Multan Saddar were selected as a population. Of these, 125 teachers from 25 primary schools were purposefully selected. Two research tools were used for collection of data. First, 125 teachers were approached to seek responses on a set of five open-ended questions. Second, semi-structured interviews were conducted from 25 teachers, one each from 25 schools. For analysis of data, both thematic analysis and content analysis were used. This study found that while assigning homework to students, teachers are less about the purpose. It was further found teachers believe that the focus of homework in primary schools of Punjab is practice-based, mostly on practice of content as taught in class. A very little focus was, however, observed on preparation- and extensive-creative-based nature of the homework
Assessment of Green Total Factor Productivity on the Environmental Sustainability of Pakistan: Insights through Growth Accounting Framework
The research investigates the concept of green total factor productivity (TFP), with economic growth leadings towards the sustainable production. The paper investigates the CO2 interventions for total factor productivity for government, and policy makers to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and enhance productivity. The paper analysis is preceded using annual year’s data for gross domestic product (GDP), capital growth, labor growth, and carbon dioxide emanations. The data is grabbed from World Bank development Indicators (WDI) online database for year 1975 to 2019. The analysis is done by Growth Accounting Framework and MALMQUIST Luneberger Index. Total Factor Productivity is analyzed in two perspectives i.e. with carbon dioxide and without carbon dioxide emissions. The findings indicated that there is little contribution of TFP without carbon dioxide emissions which is -0.23. The value of TFP with carbon dioxide emissions gives an average per year value of -20.41 which is -0.41. The average growth in carbon dioxide is 2.94 averages per year. The highest carbon dioxide growth is 0.9. The highest value for growth development is -26.86. MALMQUIST Index concludes that Pakistan needs to work for the technological developments. The paper examined that green total factor productivity improves economic growth and reduces the carbon emission in the country. The policymakers and top management must employ the sustainable activities to retain the better growth with economic development in the near future.

How Does Participative Leadership Influences Employee Engagement via the Mediational Effect of Employee Perceived Corporate Social Responsibility? An Analysis of Front-line Employees of Hotels
Over the course of the year, the study of engaged employees has drawn increased attention. In accordance with the social learning theory, people pick up skills from verbal, symbolic, and living role models through their behaviors. Through the use of employee perceptions of corporate social responsibility as a mediator, this research seeks to inspect the connection between participatory leadership and engagement of employees. The study is unusual because it examines the underlying mechanism between participatory leadership and commitment using employee perceived CSR as a mediator for the first time in literature. The 348 replies were gathered from hotel industry workers. The outcomes were analyzed using a structural equation modelling approach. The findings demonstrated a strong correlation between participatory leadership and employee engagement. Employee perception of CSR plays a factor in mediating the influence of participatory leadership on engagement of employees. This article explores the responsibilities of participative leaders and their influence on employee engagement using motivational and multilevel perspectives, with the mediation function of employee perception of CSR. This study has important ramifications for businesses and managers, particularly in terms of increasing employee engagement
Impact of Work from Home on Organizational Commitment: The Moderating Role of Emotional Intelligence
Many organizations adopted new working patterns to cope with the situation brought about by the pandemic in the year 2020. The prime objective behind this study was to investigate the potential predictor of organizational commitment during working from home while measuring the moderating effect of emotional intelligence. A quantitative approach is used to meet the objective of the research. The appropriate sample size was 200 employees of education sector and the obtained responses were examined with the usage of Smart PLS software. The study was able to bridge the gap by measuring work from home as a new working atmosphere and the results indicated there exists a notable relation between Work from Home and Organizational commitment. Moreover, the quantitative results can be generalized to the education sector of Pakistan and support the belief that working from home can be a positive change in the pre-existing working model in organizations
Proactive Personality and Innovative Work Behaviors: The mediating role of Knowledge Creation Ability
The aim of this study was to understand the effect that proactive personality has on individuals’ knowledge creation ability and innovative work behaviors. This study proposed a model which assists in understanding the effects that proactive personality has on innovative work behaviors through individual knowledge creation. The results were based on data that was collected through a cross-sectional field survey. The data consisted of a diverse paired sample of employees and their supervisors (N=249) who belonged to various organizations in Pakistan. The results of the main effects regression revealed that proactive personality had a positive relationship with both knowledge creation ability and innovative work behaviors. To test the mediating hypothesis, mediating regression analysis was used which showed that individual knowledge creation ability mediated the link between proactive personality and innovative work behaviors. The results of the mediation were also confirmed through a Sobel test. The study adds to the body of knowledge by investigating the antecedents and outcomes of knowledge creation ability. In addition, it uniquely contributes to the body of research by providing an underlying mechanism through which proactive personality predicts innovative work behavior. The topic of individual knowledge creation ability that has been overlooked previously by research has been elaborated in this study
Nexus between Branding of Education and Parental School Choice: Evidence from Islamabad, Pakistan
The educational system in Pakistan is in a dismal position ever since it was established. The government sector has lost credibility with the public and is no longer the first option for parents due to inadequate, consistent, and effective policies and basic infrastructure. Parents are actively choosing the private sector schools for their children. Since denationalization during late 1970s, the private sector has grown steadily. It has expanded during past two decades, establishing new standards for outstanding education, but concerns about the rising class divide affecting social equality have also arisen. The existing literature supports private schools' growing role in expanding enrollment and resolving quality and access issues, but little is stated about their influence on society. Private schools are subtly attacking social justice and equality by increasing the social stratification and widening the socioeconomic difference. Private schools' branding techniques influence parents' choosing a junior and a high school for their children. Most of the research in this field has focused on exploring how the problems of quality, access, and other variables influence students' decisions about which schools to attend. However this research is aimed at exploring on a very basic issue: why are private schools favored because of their "branding"—the branding that has strengthened the status awareness in parents and school choice that has joined the realm of class conflict with several dimensions. The state's obligation to deliver at certain level of essential services has been privatized and sold out in the open market. The middle class's preference is migrating from public to private schools, with the goal of purchasing financial stability in order to gain access to a better-paying jobs and social circles. Today, schooling is not more than just getting an education; it's also a way to show wealth and social standing

It is suggested in the light of findings that administration of universities should allocate more budget for improving the quality of this program, content should revised, selection criteria should appropriate, availability and proper use of technology and proficiency of English.

Russia-Ukraine Crisis and Its Impact on South Asia
On February 24, 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine under the pretense of national security. The Russia-Ukraine war is likely bound to give birth to severe issues including economic implications for the parties involved, and for the world’s atomic states. The imposition of serious sanctions on a petro-state such as Russia will have long lasting terminal effects, one of which could be the surge in global oil prices. The economic impact of Putin’s war on Ukraine is largely political when it comes to Russia. The economic sanctions imposed on Russia by Western politicians will determine the disruptions in the supply of Brent crude oil and other exports by Russia. While as far as Ukraine is concerned, the extent of the damage caused by the Russian strikes on its infrastructure and agricultural land, will determine the disruptions in the supply of wheat, sunflower oil, and other exports. The research paper is aimed to discuss consequences of Russia-Ukraine crisis generally on South Asia and specifically on Pakistan
