The Government of Bangladesh is establishing community clinics to provide essential healthcare services on the doorstep of the citizens of the country. In Bangladesh, women are the most vulnerable group in case of morbidity and mortality, especially in rural areas. They are unaware and underutilize the health care services provided by community clinics. The objective of the present study was to investigate the association of socio-economic and demographic variables with awareness of community clinics and also with the usage of services for health care from these clinics among the ever-wedded women of childbearing age. Bangladesh Demographic and Health Survey (BDHS), 2017-18 data were used in this research study. The study findings reveal that 56% of women who were ever-married were aware of healthcare services provided by community clinics situated in their residential area and 15.6% of women utilized such community clinic services in the 90 days preceding the survey. In this study, by applying bivariate chi-squared (χ2) test, some demographic, social, and economic variables are identified closely associated with consciousness about community clinics and usage of healthcare services from such clinics among women who were aged 15-49 and ever-married. The variables are marital status, educational qualification, working status, type of place of residence, administrative division, the economic condition of the household, ownership of mobile, number of members in the family, and husband’s educational qualification. The government and policymakers should take necessary initiatives to increase the public awareness and utilization of community clinic services. Community clinics should introduce special healthcare facilities for specific groups such as pregnant women or adolescents to increase the utilization of community clinic services

    Get PDF
Indonesia has set a target in accordance with the SDGs Program in 2030 in the health sector, namely through efforts to improve nutrition and health quality in combating the prevalence of stunting. The achievement of the SDGs goals must be prepared from now on in cross-sectoral coordination. Over the last 20 years, the handling of the stunting problem has been very slow, globally, the percentage of children whose growth is stunted has decreased by only 0.6% per year since 1999. It is predicted that if this continues, 15 years later it is estimated that 450 million children will experience growth retardation or stunting. The contributing factor is thought to be the lack of cross-sectoral roles in preventing stunting, so it is necessary to strengthen the role through convergence action to accelerate stunting reduction. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach using source triangulation, where researchers get data from different sources using the same technique, namely open and in-depth interview techniques. There were 5 informants involved in this study, namely 2 OPD KB Officers, 1 Provincial PIC, 1 Regency PIC and 1 Nutrition Manager. The instruments used for primary data collection were observation, field documentation and interview guides. The results of the study are the factors that encourage the implementation of convergence actions to accelerate stunting reduction are the government's commitment, as well as the involvement of various parties both from the health and non-health sectors, but still need to be further improved. Lack of awareness related to stunting handling and stunting reduction program management that is not well organized because it only considers that it is only the task of nutrition managers so that there is no synergy with others

    Get PDF
This research aims at exploring the frequency, occurrence and impact of the semantic and pragmatic contextual features in the Listening section of the TOEFL simulation test. In this paper, a literature study that focuses on a select number of Listening items of TOEFL reveals that pragmatic contexts such as reference, context and politeness are prominent on the examination. There are also semantic contexts involved but the integration process of semantic and pragmatic knowledge proved to be difficult to the test takers, especially in the higher level of difficulty tasks. The research indicates that language manipulation that contributes to pragmatics such as the ability to interpret meaning of a certain language in context, ability to understand implied meaning and use different culture values should form a major part of preparation for TOEFL. These findings are genuine, for the study has conducted with multiple TOEFL simulations to ensure that the examination systematically stresses on pragmatic comprehension. In this study, the author discusses directions of more extensive test preparation and identifies new agendas for future investigations that can focus on the examination of the role of individual differences in generating pragmatic performances in various tests

Blockchain transactions are simple, but this convenience comes at a social cost.
