    No full text
This study examined the cultural content in reading texts from three English textbooks by different publishers. The objective was to identify the cultures represented, determine the most dominant cultures, and analyze how these cultures are portrayed in the textbooks. A descriptive qualitative research approach was used, with documentation serving as the primary instrument for data collection. Data was gathered through document analysis and processed using three key steps: data condensation, data display, and drawing and verifying conclusions. The study yielded several key findings. First, it was observed that the three textbooks included elements of source culture, target culture, and international culture. Second, source culture was the most frequently represented, surpassing both target and international cultures. Third, the most prominent cultural aspect was aesthetic sense, which appeared more frequently than sociological, semantic, or pragmatic senses, with percentages of 52.63% in Bahasa Inggris, 50% in Pathway to English, and 51.43% in Talk Active. Based on these findings, the researcher recommends that English teachers develop a strong understanding of the cultural content within these textbooks to better explain cultural materials that may vary across textbooks

A Network Design Using MPLS For Video Streaming Services

    Get PDF
The design of a reliable and efficient network is crucial to support services that require large data transfers, such as video streaming. This research aims to design a network using Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) technology to enhance the quality of video streaming services. MPLS is known as an effective solution for managing network traffic due to its ability to perform label-based routing, which allows for more optimal and faster path selection compared to traditional routing methods. In this study, the MPLS network design is implemented to provide better Quality of Service (QoS), focusing on parameters such as latency, jitter, and packet loss, which greatly impact the user experience in video streaming. The design method involves selecting the most efficient routes and managing priority traffic to ensure that video streaming data can be transmitted with optimal speed and stability. The results of this study show that the use of MPLS in networks for video streaming services can improve bandwidth efficiency, reduce disruptions caused by network congestion, and ensure more stable playback with minimal buffering. Therefore, MPLS-based network design becomes an effective solution to support higher-quality video streaming services

    Get PDF
A health worker who has an important role in the service at a hospital is a doctor. At RSU Royal Prima Medan, the medical services received by doctors are considered insufficient which causes dissatisfaction with doctors at work. Based on the results of the performance evaluation of doctors in December 2017, the percentage decreased from 80% to 76.3%. This study was to analyze perceptions about the distribution of the amount of medical services, the timeliness of providing medical services, the compatibility of medical services with performance, the distribution system, transparency, work environment, co-worker relations, and promotion opportunities on doctor's job satisfaction. This study uses a type of survey. All 48 specialist doctors at RSU Royal Prima Medan are the population as well as the sample in this study. Analysis was performed on bivariate data using chi-square and then for multivariate data using logistic regression test α = 0.05. The doctor's satisfaction level is influenced by the distribution system and promotion opportunities. The opportunity for promotion has a regression coefficient (B) of 2,887 so that it is the main factor influencing the level of doctor satisfaction

The Mandarese sounds interfered the English sounds. This research aimed to describe the kinds of the Mandarese sounds that substituted the English sounds in a word and to find out where position in a word of the Mandarese sounds substituted the English sounds. The method used in this research was the descriptive qualitative and quantitative method. Qualitative applied to describe where the position of Mandarese sounds substitute the English sounds in a word. The quantitative method was applied to count how many times the Mandarese sounds substituted the English sounds. This research carried out in Polman regency. The primary data were gathered from 30 English teachers through (1) observation, when they were teaching in their classes. It aimed to compare the producing of sounds when they read and not. (2) By asking the teachers to read the reading text. The result shows that the Mandarese sounds interfered the English sound in a word. It was proven by the percentage of appearances of the Mandarese sounds, 47%, and the English sound, 32 %. And substitution happened in initial, middle, and final positions for the English sounds such as [æ], [ə],[e], [I], [v], [f], [ò], [z], [ð] by [ε], [i:], [p], [s], [d], [t]

According to the Indonesian Ministry of Health, there are several factors that cause stunting in children, including mothers not having access to healthy and nutritious food such as high protein foods, which causes their children to also lack nutrition. The incidence of stunting has decreased between 2020 and 2021, the prevalence of stunting globally has decreased from 32.6 percent to 22.2 percent, the number of children affected by stunting has decreased from 198 million to 151 million. The aim of this research is to determine whether there is an influence between the role, supervision, control and motivation of health workers on stunting coverage in the South Nias District Health Center. The type of research used is quantitative analytics. The research design is a cross-sectional study. The sampling technique in this research is the total population, that is, the entire population is used as the research sample, so the total sample in the research is 360 employees. The results of the research explain that there is an influence between the role, supervision, control and motivation of health workers on stunting coverage in the South Nias District Health Center. It is hoped that this research can have a positive impact on the coverage of stunting in the South Nias Regency Health Center

Simple Science Learning To Improve Children's Cognitive Abilities Through Taste Playing Activities

    Get PDF
This research was motivated by children who rarely learn science because the activities carried out are not appropriate for early childhood. Science learning for young children is very important because it can build a strong foundation for their scientific understanding in the future. At an early age, the approach used in teaching science must be fun, interactive, and appropriate to the child's developmental stage. So the aim of this research is to find out the extent of children's cognitive abilities by carrying out simple science learning through play activities to get to know taste. The research method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method, namely a method used to describe actual phenomena. To support this research, data was collected using observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this research are that there are five playing activities to get to know taste, namely exploring taste, matching taste, guessing taste, creating taste, and making a taste book. By doing these activities, young children not only learn about taste but also develop important cognitive skills such as problem solving, memory, and understanding concepts. Activities that involve this sense make science learning more interesting and interactive

The implementation of the policy on granting permits for the establishment of minimarkets in the city of Bandung has not been fully implemented effectively. The theory used as a reference for analysis is policy implementation theory according to Mazmanian and Sabatier. According to Mazmanian and Sabatier, the success of implementing the policy of granting permits for the establishment of minimarkets in Bandung City is influenced by, whether problems are easy to control, the ability of wisdom to structure the implementation process, aspects outside the policy implementation process, the stages of the implementation process. This study was designed based on a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques include interviews, observation, literature study/documentation. The informants were all interested parties, both from government officials and other stakeholders. Through a qualitative approach. Analysis is used by collecting, processing, analyzing, interpreting and drawing conclusions. This research results that, policy implementation which includes whether problems are easy to control, the ability of wisdom to structure the implementation process, aspects outside the policy implementation process, the stages of the implementation process, do not fully describe the implementation of the policy for granting permits for the establishment of minimarkets in Bandung City, thus From the findings, that Mazmanian and Sabatier's theory strengthens this research, however, because the implementation of the policy on granting permits to establish minimarkets is not yet in accordance with applicable regulations because the factor that most contributes to the implementation of the policy on granting permits to establish minimarkets is "The importance of feedback from the community in granting permits to establish Mini Market"
