The Impact of Social Expectations on Female Identity Development: A Psychological Perspective in African

This study explores the psychological impact of social expectations on female identity development in African societies through a comprehensive literature review. Social expectations rooted in cultural traditions, religious beliefs, and patriarchal structures play a significant role in shaping the self-perception, behavior, and emotional well-being of girls and women across the continent. From early childhood, females are socialized into roles that prioritize obedience, modesty, and caregiving, often at the expense of personal autonomy and self-definition. These expectations, while varying by region and cultural context, frequently lead to psychological tensions such as identity foreclosure, emotional suppression, and reduced self-esteem, particularly during adolescence. Despite these challenges, African women exhibit resilience and agency by adopting diverse coping mechanisms. These include religious and spiritual practices, peer support networks, activism, educational advancement, and digital self-expression. Such strategies help mitigate the emotional burden of conforming to rigid gender roles and open pathways for identity renegotiation. The literature also reveals considerable diversity in how these expectations are experienced and resisted, influenced by socio-economic status, ethnicity, urbanization, and access to education. This review underscores the need for culturally sensitive mental health support, gender-responsive education policies, and community-based empowerment programs. It also calls for future research using intersectional and qualitative approaches to capture the nuanced ways in which women across Africa navigate social expectations and psychological developmen

The research data demonstrates that most survey participants fall into the male gender category with an age range between 30-39 years old. They also attended last high school graduate and maintained 1-5 years of employment experience and marriage status. The results of multiple linear regression indicate that development career variables contribute more strongly to organizational commitment compared to variables related to climate organization. The analysis reveals a strong relationship with coefficient correlation of 0.667 while the coefficient determination (R²) of 44.50% indicates free variables influence organizational commitment and 55.50% came from other factors. The F test for simultaneous testing confirms that organizational factors as a whole exert substantial influence on organizational commitment yet the development career specifically demonstrates stronger effects than work climate elements do

This study aims to analyze the quality of leachate based on quality standards, examine the relationship between rainfall intensity and leachate quality, and assess the level of leachate pollution at the Talumelito TPA. The research employs a descriptive quantitative approach by collecting primary and secondary data. Primary data were obtained from leachate sample testing, while secondary data included rainfall intensity from the Gorontalo Climatology Station. The leachate samples, taken from the inlet and outlet of the reservoir on December 11, 2024, were tested for pH, BOD, COD, TSS, N-Total, Mercury, and Cadmium at LPPT UGM Yogyakarta and the UPTD Regional Health Laboratory Center of Gorontalo Province. The results indicate that from 2022 to 2024, five parameters at the inlet (pH, BOD, COD, TSS, N-Total) and four at the outlet (BOD, COD, TSS, N-Total) exceeded the quality standards set by PerMenLHK No. 59 of 2016. However, Mercury and Cadmium at the inlet and pH, Mercury, and Cadmium at the outlet met the standards. Rainfall intensity ranged from 9 mm (2023) to 235 mm (2022), but it did not significantly impact the leachate quality. Pollution index analysis using the IP and Storet methods showed an average IP value of 4.2, indicating light pollution, while the Storet classification placed the water quality in Class C (-18), meaning moderate pollution. These findings highlight the need for improved leachate treatment and management to mitigate environmental impacts at Talumelito TPA

Armed conflicts in various countries have a serious impact on children's mental health, especially increasing the risk of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). This study aims to systematically review various interventions that have been implemented in dealing with PTSD symptoms in child victims of armed conflict. The review was conducted using the PCC (Population, Concept, Context) method with article searches through the Scopus and Publish or Perish databases. From a total of 355 articles identified, 8 articles met the inclusion criteria after screening the title, abstract, and full text. The review revealed a variety of intervention approaches, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Self- Narrative Art Therapy, family and community-based psychosocial support, and school-based programs such as trauma-sensitive schools. Interventions that involve parents, schools and communities have been shown to be more effective in increasing children's psychological resilience and reducing PTSD symptoms than single medical interventions. Treating PTSD in children requires a holistic and integrated approach that considers social, cultural factors and the availability of local resources. Future research is recommended to explore digital technology-based innovations and longitudinal studies to assess the long-term impact on the psychological well-being of children affected by conflict

In the current academic landscape, scientific research results are published through both traditional print and electronic formats, overseen by accredited institutions such as publishers and universities. This study explores the use of modern bibliographic data platforms, with a focus on Mendeley, to enhance the preparation and publication of scientific research in accordance with international standards. A comprehensive analysis was conducted involving 84 participants—including master's students, PhD candidates, and researchers from Karshi State University—to assess their awareness and application of bibliographic tools and methodologies. Findings reveal that while 73% of respondents recognize the IMRAD structure as beneficial for scientific writing, 27% lack familiarity with international formatting standards. Furthermore, a significant number of participants were either unaware of or lacked proficiency in using virtual libraries like Mendeley, Google Scholar, and ResearchGate. Only 18% used these tools effectively, while 54% had only partial knowledge or usage experience. The research also identifies a practical gap in integrating citation tools within commonly used software like Microsoft Word. Based on these insights, the study highlights the need for targeted training programs and workshops on research methodologies and bibliographic tools in higher education. Encouraging educators and researchers to utilize platforms such as Scopus, Science Direct, and Mendeley can enhance scholarly productivity and visibility. Ultimately, the adoption of modern bibliographic systems plays a critical role in improving the quality and credibility of academic publications and advancing scientific communication
