This research concludes that combining technology utilization and a fair profit-sharing system is an effective strategy to improve agent performance

Indonesia's G20 Role and Export Performance with the US, China, and Japan

This study examines the relationship between Indonesia’s G20 membership and its bilateral exports to China, the United States, and Japan over the period 1995–2023. The objective is to analyze how trade integration with these three major partners influences Indonesia’s economic growth. Using the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM), with data obtained from the World Bank, UN Comtrade, and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the research investigates the short- and long-term dynamics between exports, gross domestic product (GDP), gross fixed capital formation (GFCF), and exchange rates. The empirical findings confirm the presence of cointegration among the variables, indicating long-term equilibrium. Exports to China show the strongest and most significant positive impact on GDP, with an error correction mechanism revealing a 24% annual adjustment speed. Exports to the United States also contribute positively, but with lower elasticity, reflecting limited macroeconomic spillovers despite persistent trade surpluses. By contrast, exports to Japan display the weakest impact on GDP, with slower adjustment dynamics (18% per year) and high dependence on primary commodities. The results imply that while Indonesia’s G20 integration has enhanced trade opportunities, the country remains structurally vulnerable due to its reliance on resource-based exports. Policy recommendations include diversifying export markets, strengthening value-added manufacturing, reducing non-tariff barriers, and optimizing the role of regional trade agreements such as ACFTA and IJEPA

Karst Ecosystem Restoration in the Nglirip Cave Nature Reserve with Endemic Plants

The karst ecosystem of the Nglirip Cave Nature Reserve in Tuban Regency, East Java, plays a vital role as a water reservoir, carbon sink, and biodiversity hub. However, uncontrolled deforestation and human activities have disrupted the ecological balance, threatening the flora and fauna, as well as the local groundwater reserves. This study documents a collaborative restoration program initiated by PT PLN Nusantara Power Unit Pembangkit Tanjung Awar-Awar (UPTA), in partnership with the East Java BBKSDA (National Resources Conservation Agency) and the Tuban Regency Environmental Agency. The program aimed to rehabilitate the karst ecosystem through the planting of 1,000 endemic trees, which are Ficus benjamina and Ficus macrocarpa. These trees were chosen for their high-water absorption capacity and ecological suitability to the Nglirip Cave Nature Reserve. We implemented an innovative protection technique called “Ficus in Shield” by constructing cylindrical galvanized sheet metal under the tree trunks. This procedure was implemented to protect the saplings from damage by porcupines. The results show a measurable increase in biodiversity, evidenced by an increase in the Shannon-Wiener Biodiversity Index, and are expected to improve groundwater retention and ecosystem resilience. Beyond the ecological benefits, this initiative emphasizes the importance of public-private collaboration in biodiversity conservation and climate resilience. These findings highlight that endemic-based reforestation, combined with adaptive protection methods, is expected to effectively restore longdegraded karst ecosystems and serve as a model for sustainable conservation both in the Nglirip Cave Nature Reserve and elsewhere

This study assessed the level of gender responsiveness in the management of the Siargao Islands Protected Landscape and Seascape (SIPLAS) in Surigao del Norte, Philippines. Specifically, it examined the participation of men and women in management activities, identified gender-related issues, and evaluated existing programs supporting gender equality within the Protected Area Management Office (PAMO). Using a descriptive research design, data were collected through interviews and analyzed using frequency, percentage, and mean. Results revealed that women comprised 70% of the respondents, men 20%, and nonbinary individuals 10%, indicating strong female participation in administrative and technical roles, while men remained dominant in enforcement and field operations. Findings further showed that SIPLAS exhibits a moderately high level of gender responsiveness, with inclusive initiatives such as the celebration of Women’s Month, the collection of gender-disaggregated data, and gender-sensitive environmental training. However, gaps remain in the institutionalization of gender indicators and in the awareness of Republic Act 9710 (Magna Carta of Women), particularly among male staff. The study concludes that while PAMO demonstrates a growing commitment to gender equity and inclusivity, sustained institutional support, leadership balance, and continued gender sensitivity training are needed to achieve transformative and gender-equitable conservation governance in SIPLAS
