    Respon Bunga Pukul Empat (Mirabilis jalapa L.) terhadap Pencahayaan (Terik, Gelap, dan Ekstrem)

    The four o'clock flower is one of many plants whose blooming time is influenced by photoperiodism. Long photoperiods can inhibit the initiation of flowering and slow down the development of flower primordia, leading to delayed blooming. This study aims to examine the photoperiodic response of four o'clock flowers (Mirabilis jalapa L.) to shorter durations of sunlight exposure. The research was conducted over one month (September–October 2024), with data collection carried out in Jalan Setia Budi, Tanjung Rejo District, Medan, from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM. The study involved observing plants growing in the same location to record the blooming times of the flowers. The data were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively, supported by literature reviews. The results indicated that Mirabilis jalapa L. plants under three different conditions—normal, complete darkness, and extreme conditions—showed slight variations in blooming times despite minor differences. On average, the flowers took 10 hours and 42 minutes to bloom. This suggests that minor environmental differences or specific plant factors may influence blooming times. Further research is recommended to include flowers of various colors, such as white, red, and mixed hues, as well as to expand the study to villages with different altitudes to gain a deeper understanding of the effects of photoperiodism. As a member of the Nyctaginaceae family and Centrospermae order, the four o'clock flower (Mirabilis jalapa L.) is an adaptive plant that grows easily in home gardens with minimal care, making it an ideal subject for studies of this nature

    Cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.) is one of the horticultural crops that is widely cultivated by farmers because of its great demand by the community, not only in the household but also for industrial purposes and for export abroad. Cayenne pepper contains quite a lot of nutrients and quite a lot of benefits. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of liquid organic fertilizer (POC) on papaya leaves (C. papaya) on the growth of cayenne pepper (C. frutescens). The study used a completely randomized design with three treatments namely liquid organic fertilizer (POC), positive control (K+) and negative control (K-). Each treatment was carried out in quadruples. The results of the ANOVA test with cayenne pepper showed: 1) the average value of plant height was 0.045; 2) the significance value of the number of leaves is 0.038; 3) The significance value is 0.273 for the number of branches. It can be concluded that the application of papaya leaves (POC) has a significant effect on cayenne pepper (C. frutescens) which has a very good value compared to the use of chemical fertilizers (NPK), so it is continued in the Duncan test experiment. The results of the Duncan test for cayenne pepper plant height showed that the POC treatment had a significant effect on plant height and number of leaves compared to the negative control (k-) and positive control (k+). This is due to the addition of organic matter from fermented cow urine and papaya leaves as well as nutrients in the soil, which can be beneficial both for the soil and for plants

    This research aims to describe how students’ understanding of adding and subtracting whole numbers is formed. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with teaching modules as the main data source. After surveying didactic situation theory in mathematics through various sources, the paradigm in this theory is then used as a basis for describing learning activities contained in the teaching module. Learning activities in the teaching module are classified based on the theory of mathematical didactic situations. The result shows that in these learning activities, the didactical situation was not developed sequentially. Apart from that, the action situation that is constructed does not show the existence of a dialectical situation between individual students and the milieu. Knowledge construction tends to come from teacher explanations, not from the process of solving problems that involve students' mental activity. This condition can potentially cause knowledge not to be constructed properly, making it possible for students not to be able to use it when facing new mathematical problems and allowing learning obstacles to occur.     Workshop Penulisan e-mail Berbahasa Inggris bagi Divisi Pemasaran PT. Bio Industri Omnipresen

    This community service activity aims to improve English email writing skills for the Marketing Division of PT. Bio Industri Omnipresen through a 4-week workshop using a blended learning method, which combines face-to-face and online learning via Zoom. The main problem faced by the partner is the lack of ability in international marketing communication, particularly in writing effective and professional e-mails in English. This activity begins with identifying training needs, followed by implementing a workshop, and concludes with an evaluation. The evaluation was conducted through participant satisfaction surveys and assessments of the participants' improvement in e-mail writing skills. The results show a significant improvement in writing formal and informal e-mails, understanding professional e-mail formats, and increased confidence in using English for business communication. Although the workshop was conducted smoothly, there were several challenges faced, such as the varying levels of English proficiency among participants, limited training time, and technical difficulties due to different work locations. For the sustainability of the program, it is recommended to have a follow-up program in the form of advanced training sessions, the extension of the workshop duration, and the improvement of training methods so that the benefits obtained by the participants are more optimal

    Pengaruh Konsentrasi Nutrisi AB Mix dan Waktu Potong Ujung Tanaman Terhadap Pertumbuhan dan Produksi Tomat Buah Hidroponik Ducth Bucket System (DBS)

    This research aims to get the best concentration of AB Mix nutrients and the right time to cut the tip of the plant on the growth and production of fruit tomato plants (Solanum lycopersicum L.) hydroponic DBS. This research was conducted at the Greenhouse of the Islamic University of Jember, Jl. Kyai Mojo No.101, Kaliwates District, Jember Regency, East Java, 69 meters above sea level, from December 2023 to March 2024. The research was conducted using a 2x4 factorial completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 replications. The first factor is the concentration of AB Mix nutrients (N) with 2 levels, namely: N1 = 2000 ppm; and N2 = 2200 ppm. The second factor is plant tip cutting time (P) consisting of 4 levels, namely: P0 = No cutting; P1 = Cutting 14 HST; P2 = Cutting 21 HST; P3 = Cutting 28 HST. The observation parameters consisted of plant height, number of leaves, flower appearance, stem diameter, number of branches, number of fruits, fruit weight and sugar content. Observation data were analyzed with the F test to determine the effect of treatment. Results that differed significantly, continued with the LSD (Least Significant Difference) test at the 0.05 level using MS Excel software. The results showed that the concentration of AB Mix 2000 ppm gave the best effect on the parameters of plant height 35 HST and the number of fruits, while the concentration of AB Mix 2200 ppm gave the best effect on the parameters of plant height 21 HST, the beginning of flower emergence, stem diameter 35 HST and fruit weight. Cutting the tip of the plant 14 HST gives the best effect on the number of branches parameter. The interaction of AB Mix 2000 ppm nutrient concentration and without cutting the tip of the plant (NIP0) gave the best effect on plant height 35 HST; the interaction of AB Mix 2000 ppm nutrient concentration and cutting the tip of the plant 14 HST (N1P1) and the interaction of AB Mix 2000 ppm nutrient concentration and cutting the tip of the plant 21 HST (N1P2) gave the best effect on the number of fruits; and the interaction of AB Mix 2000 ppm nutrients and cutting the tip of the plant 28 HST gave the best effect on the number of leaves 30 HST

    Fly Swatter Game Effect on Seventh Grade Students’ Vocabulary at SMP Parulian 2 Medan

    This research examines the impact of the Fly Swatter Game on seventh-grade students' vocabulary proficiency at SMP Parulian 2 Medan. The research employed a true experimental design, categorising students into an experimental group that participated in the Fly Swatter Game intervention and a control group that received traditional instruction. Both groups took pre-tests and post-tests to assess their vocabulary enhancement. The study's findings indicated that the experimental group demonstrated a significant enhancement in vocabulary knowledge compared to the control group. The average score of the experimental group increased from 58.26 (pre-test) to 77.33 (post-test). The t-test analysis resulted in a t-count of ( 3.144,) which was higher than  at the level of significance= 0,05  (1,673) or  >   3,144 > 1,673. Ha was accepted, whereas Ho was refused. demonstrating a statistically meaningful impact. The findings indicate that employing the Fly Swatter Game as a vocabulary instruction technique can improve students' engagement, motivation, and retention of new lexicon. The game-based learning methodology enables students to engage actively with vocabulary, enhancing both enjoyment and efficacy in the learning proces

    Regulating birth spacing and improving family welfare are two goals of family planning, which aims to strike a balance between the population's demands.  The purpose of this research was to determine why so few couples of reproductive age use intrauterine devices (IUDs).  The study relied on a literature review methodology and used the PICO search strategy to systematically search the following databases: PubMed, Science Direct, and Google Scholar.  The final product was a set of seven articles written in Indonesian and five pieces written in English that fulfilled the inclusion criteria.  The tiny number of 9.36% of Indonesians who utilize intrauterine devices (IUDs) is due to a number of reasons, including but not limited to: age, knowledge, socioeconomic status, education, culture and religion, parity, side effects, and husband support

    Konsumen yang sering terpapar promosi di TikTok mungkin membeli produk karena pengaruh kelompok sosial atau tren, bukan karena kebutuhan pribadi. Hal ini bisa menyebabkan ketergantungan pada opini eksternal dalam pengambilan keputusan pembelian. Karena konsumen yang sering terpapar promosi di TikTok mungkin membeli produk karena pengaruh kelompok sosial atau tren, bukan karena kebutuhan pribadi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh content marketing dan self-monitoring terhadap minat beli pada akun TikTok @jiniso.id. Metode kuantitatif digunakan, dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 281 perempuan berusia 18-25 tahun yang berdomisili di Gerbangkertosusila sebagai responden. Menggunakan regresi berganda untuk analisis data, dengan hasil bahwa content marketing dan self-monitoring memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap minat pelanggan untuk melakukan pembelian melalui akun TikTok @jiniso.id. Menurut temuan-temuan dari investigasi ini, diketahui content marketing dan self-monitoring dapat mempengaruhi minat beli seseorang. Peningkatan dalam kedua variabel tersebut akan diikuti dengan peningkatan minat beli. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa content marketing yang efektif, yang disesuaikan dengan preferensi konsumen, dan kemampuan konsumen untuk memantau dan menyesuaikan perilaku mereka, berperan penting dalam mendorong minat beli pada akun tiktok @jiniso.id. Penelitian ini juga memberikan kontribusi baru dalam pemahaman mengenai pengaruh self-monitoring terhadap minat beli, yang sebelumnya belum banyak diteliti

    Pelatihan Budidaya Sayuran Dengan Sistem Hidroponik Ecotower Pada Lahan Terbatas

    The students (santri) at Dayah Madinatuddiniyah Miftahul Jannah have been practicing conventional vegetable cultivation, which requires large areas of land, inefficient fertilization, and is highly susceptible to pests and diseases. To address these issues, training on plant cultivation using the hydroponic eco tower system was conducted to enhance the students' skills. This community service (PkM) activity aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of the students in cultivating plants using the hydroponic eco tower system, thereby potentially enhancing their economic well-being. The methods involved include location surveys, socialization of the PkM activities, implementation of the PkM program, mentoring and monitoring, as well as evaluation after the program's execution. Data were analyzed using both descriptive qualitative and quantitative approaches. The training results showed an increase in learning interest by 87.17%, participant knowledge by 94.85%, and skills by 96.73%, which have the potential to improve the students’ economy and foster independence. Thus, this activity has had a positive impact in minimizing and overcoming the limitations of agricultural land use
