The Relationship Between Ethical Leadership and Emotional Exhaustion in a VirtualWork Environment: A Moderated Mediation Model
The role of ethical leadership in virtual settings is not yet clearly defined, but it may be the key to addressing employees’ emotional exhaustion. In addition, to prevent emotional exhaustion, it is important to determine the role of work autonomy and teleworking intensity. The present research examined how and when ethical leadership influences emotional exhaustion through work autonomy and teleworking intensity. Data collected from 448 workers in the Colombian electrical sector were analyzed using a SEM moderated mediation model. The results indicate a positive relationship between ethical leadership and emotional exhaustion mediated by work autonomy. The results also show that teleworking intensity moderates the mediation process. Specifically, the positive impact of ethical leadership on emotional exhaustion stopped when teleworking intensity was high. Likewise, high teleworking intensity intensified the positive relationship between ethical leadership and work autonomy. Finally, high teleworking intensity dampened the positive relationship between work autonomy and emotional exhaustion. In conclusion, working virtually five days a week is a strategy that amplifies the leader-member relationship and becomes an advantage to effectively combat emotional exhaustion. The results obtained in this research are particularly relevant because they show for the first time that ethical leadership can have opposite effects on employees’ emotional exhaustion, both positive and negative, depending on the number of days teleworked, thus contributing to a new understanding of the characteristics of the ethical leader in a virtual environment
El protocolo oficial internacional
Este libro es un libro único. Y lo es porque en el mundo no existe, que sepamos, ningún otro libro que se ocupe del protocolo oficial internacional en el sentido puro del término. Cualquier lector que coja un libro de protocolo internacional podrá comprobar que lo que se incluye en su interior es de todo menos protocolo. Se encontrará con normas de educación, pero sobre todo lo que encontrará son usos sociales internacionales, es decir, cómo las diferentes culturas regulan aspectos que tienen carácter de normas sociales y que por ello no se encuentran escritas como son los saludos, las presentaciones, o el comportamiento en público, buenas maneras y urbanidad incluidas. Son normas que regulan la actuación de las personas en público pero que carecen de cualquier otra sancionabilidad a su contravención que el rechazo social, ya que aspectos como la etiqueta, los modales o actuación en diversas situaciones, especialmente, por ejemplo, en la mesa, no son normas universales, sino que tienen un profundo trasfondo cultural, mezclado en muchos países con elementos religiosos, lo que dificulta su conocimiento. Sin quitar el mérito a estos otros libros y su utilidad en ámbitos como el empresarial, es indudable que el término “protocolo internacional”, no está bien elegido en estos casos. En este sentido es por lo que antes manifestaba categóricamente que este es un libro único.
Este libro trata de lo que jurídicamente entendemos que es el protocolo en puridad: un conjunto de normas jurídicas, usos y costumbres que regulan o determinan la forma en que se realizan los actos oficiales de las instituciones del Estado. Ese conjunto de normas varía de un país a otro, porque en el fondo de lo que estamos tratando es del Protocolo del Estado, la más genuina manifestación del protocolo: cómo han regulado las instituciones político-administrativas de un determinado país su visibilidad ante la ciudadanía y ante otros Estados. Ahondado pues un poco más, el protocolo internacional reviste una doble vertiente que debe ser diferenciada: de una parte, el protocolo oficial internacional en cuanto protocolo institucional de los Estados de la comunidad internacional; y de otra, el propio protocolo de los organismos internacionales existentes en el mundo, del que no se ocupa este volumen, pero que también hay que tener en cuenta y cualquier especialista o experto en protocolo debe conocer. Quizás en ello radique precisamente la dificultad del tema a tratar y el mismo hecho limitante de la no proliferación de libros de protocolo internacional dado que es prácticamente imposible un texto escrito que recoja todas y cada una de las manifestaciones normativas específicas de todos los Estados del mundo
El liderazgo político en la era digital: un análisis de uso de Twitter por el Papa Francisco (@Pontifex)
El uso de las redes sociales por personalidades y celebridades es un creciente interés para la ciencia. En este artículo se discute el uso de Twitter que hace que el Papa Francisco, elegido como Sumo Pontífice de la Iglesia Católica en 2013. El uso de una metodología de medición cualitativa y cuantitativa ad hoc se contaron y se analizaron los tweets publicados entre marzo de 2013 y abril de 2016 (1132 días). Hay un cambio en el estilo de comunicación del Papa en Twitter, ya que utiliza más frases cortas y directas siguiendo un estilo más innovador de liderazgo social y político, tratando de identificarse con sus seguidores.The use of social networks by personalities and celebrities is an area of growing interest in science. This article discusses the use of Twitter by Pope Francisco, chosen as supreme pontiff of the Catholic Church in 2013. Using an ad hoc qualitative and quantitative measurement method, the tweets published between March 2013 and April 2016 (1132 days) were counted and analysed. There has been a change in the communication style of the Pope on Twitter. Shorter and more direct sentences are used, following a more innovative style of social and political leadership, in which the Pope tries to empathize with his followers
Pharmaceutical influencers on Instagram and their communication during the Covid-19 pandemic crisis
Today, thanks to the consolidation of Internet, users have access to many sources of information on health issues. On social networks, there are profiles of health professionals who share content that generates credibility when published by specialists who are knowledgeable in the sector. These profiles include pharmaceutical professionals who disseminate and create content based on scientific knowledge. Pharmaceutical influencers on Instagram have an informative role on health, nutrition and cosmetic dermatology issues. This research aims to learn about the communication management of these influencers during the Coronavirus crisis in Spain and how they have modified their habitual discourse, as well as seeking to identify the formats of their publications that generate greater engagement and conversions among their followers
Breast Surgery as a Gender Technology: Analyzing Plastic Surgeons’ Discourses
This article explores the role of breast surgery as a gender technology by considering the discourse of plastic surgeons. We analyze the gender discourses that come into play when surgeons are asked to distinguish between 3 cases of breast surgery: breast implantation for transsexual women, postmastectomy breast intervention, and breast augmentation for aesthetic reasons. In the surgeons’ discourses, the 3 interventions are situated in the reconstruction/cosmetic divide. However, we can see that this boundary is profoundly influenced by cultural conceptions of gender. These gendered conceptions affect what is labeled normal/abnormal, what demands are considered legitimate, and which bodies are deemed able to possess certain attributes
Feasibility study of a home-based graded motor imagery intervention (GraMI protocol) for amputees with phantom limb pain
Introduction
Phantom limb pain affects 64% of amputees. Graded Motor Imagery comprises three consecutive application techniques designed to reorganize maladaptive changes that have occurred after the amputation.
Objective
To assess the feasibility of a home-based Graded Motor Imagery intervention, the GraMI protocol, for amputee people with phantom limb pain.
Methods
Twenty individuals over 18 years of age with upper or lower limb amputation, experiencing phantom limb pain, who were pharmacologically stable, and had been discharged from the hospital were recruited. The experimental group followed the GraMI protocol. Primary outcomes included study processes, such as recruitment time and rate, adherence, compliance, and the acceptability of digital technologies as a treatment tool. Secondary outcomes assessed the impact on phantom limb pain, quality of life, functionality, and depressive symptoms.
Results
On average, seven participants were recruited monthly over a three-month period. No losses were recorded throughout the nine weeks of intervention. Treatment adherence averaged 89.32%, and all participants demonstrated familiarity with the usability of digital technologies. No significant differences were observed between groups (p = .054). However, within the experimental group, intragroup analysis revealed a significant (p = .005) and clinically relevant reduction (>2 points) with a large effect size (0.89) in phantom limb pain.
Conclusion
Conducting a multicenter study with a home-based intervention using the GraMI protocol is feasible. Future clinical trials are needed to verify its effectiveness in managing phantom limb pain
The beliefs of primary education teachers regarding writing and grammar instruction
This paper presents the results of a study on the beliefs of eight primary-education teachers in Catalonia (Spain) regarding writing instruction and its relationship with grammar instruction. The declared practices of four second-grade primary teachers and four fourth-grade primary teachers from six different educational centers of the Barcelona metropolitan area were analyzed through a semi-structured interview, which was analyzed following a mixed-method approach. The results of the analysis show that teachers' beliefs about teaching writing revolve around how to manage the writing tasks in the classroom and that their beliefs about the relationship between teaching writing and grammar are based on sentence grammar (as opposed to textual grammar). These beliefs are considered evidence of epistemological and methodological obstacles to teaching writing and grammar in an integrated way
The spanish Royal House in X (Twitter): Towards the public positioning of the Princess of Asturias
The main objective of this work is to determine the digital communication style of the Spanish Royal House in relation to the progressive public positioning of the Princess of Asturias as heir to the Crown of Spain. A multivariate quantitative analysis (content analysis) is carried out in SPSS (Krippendorff alpha coefficient = 0.867) on a corpus of 948 tweets issued by the X @CasaReal account between January 1 and December 31, 2023. consolidates itself as a relevant relationship management tool for the public positioning of the Princess of Asturias.El objetivo principal de este trabajo es determinar el estilo comunicativo digital de la Casa Real española en relación con el progresivo posicionamiento público de la Princesa de Asturias como heredera a la Corona de España. Se realiza un análisis cuantitativo (análisis de contenido) multivariable en SPSS (coeficiente alfa de Krippendorff = 0,867) sobre un corpus de 948 tuits emitidos por la cuenta de X @CasaReal entre el 1 de enero y el 31 de diciembre de 2023. X se consolida como una relevante herramienta de gestión de las relaciones para el posicionamiento público de la Princesa de Asturias
El desenvolupament professional dels docents novells en educació física: identitat professional, gestió d'aula i suport institucional a les primeres experiències docents
Curs 2024-2025En aquesta recerca exploro l'impacte de la primera experiència docent en professorat novell d'educació física a secundària, centrant-me en els reptes pedagògics, emocionals i organitzatius que enfronten les estratègies aplicades per fer-hi front i les oportunitats de creixement professional que es deriven d'aquesta etapa. La recerca s’ha basat en una metodologia qualitativa, utilitzant entrevistes semiestructurades amb dos docents novells. Les respostes es van categoritzar en quatre grans àrees: identitat professional docent, desenvolupament professional, gestió d’aula i suport institucional. Els resultats indiquen que, durant els primers mesos, els docents afronten dificultats significatives relacionades amb la gestió de l'aula i la necessitat d'adaptar-se a entorns educatius formals. També es destaca l'impacte del suport institucional, on la presència o absència de mentoria afecta la seva adaptació i confiança. Les conclusions assenyalen que, tot i els reptes inicials, l’experiència pràctica contribueix de manera substancial a la construcció de la identitat professional i al desenvolupament de competències docents clau.
Paraules clau: Docents novells, educació física, gestió d’aula, identitat professional docent, desenvolupament professional, suport institucional, mentoria.In this research, I explore the impact of the first teaching experience on novice physical education teachers in secondary education, focusing on the pedagogical, emotional, and organizational challenges they face, the strategies they employ to address these challenges, and the opportunities for professional growth that arise from this stage. The research is based on a qualitative methodology, using semi-structured interviews with two novice teachers as the primary data collection tool. The responses were categorized into four main areas: professional teacher identity, professional development, classroom management, and institutional support. The results indicate that, during the initial months, teachers face significant difficulties related to classroom management and the need to adapt to formal educational environments. The study also highlights the impact of institutional support, where the presence or absence of mentorship affects their adaptation and confidence. The conclusions suggest that, despite the initial challenges, practical experience substantially contributes to the construction of professional identity and the development of key teaching competencies.

Comunicación en período de crisis y puertas giratorias en el caso Abengoa: análisis en prensa económica
En este estudio se analiza la comunicación de crisis y el revolving doors de la empresa Abengoa, a raíz de la arriesgada estrategia financiera de la multinacional andaluza, especializada en ingeniería dedicada a energía y medio ambiente, que desembocó en el pre concurso de acreedores. Se analiza por qué la empresa llega a presentar el pre concurso de acreedores y la comunicación de crisis en este periodo, mediante un análisis de prensa económica de gran tirada según la Oficina de Justificación de la Difusión (OJD). También se relaciona la comunicación de crisis con las puertas giratorias para el caso Abengoa.In this article we analyse the crisis communication and revolving door policy at the Abengoa company, following the high-risk financial strategy of this Andalusian multinational specialising in energy and environmental engineering solutions, which led to the initiation of insolvency proceedings. We analyse why the company reached this point and the crisis communication during this period, by means of an analysis of the highest circulation business newspapers and magazines, according to the Spanish Audit Bureau of Circulation. We also relate the crisis communication to the revolving door policy in the Abengoa case
