    The Use of Ulead Studio Program Products (UVIOPro) to Improve the Students’ Writing Skill

    The study aims to find out whether or not the use of UVIOPro is effective to improve the students’ writing skill, particularly in terms of content, organization, and mechanics. This study applied a Quasi-Experimental design. The sample of this study was the second semester students of English Education department at Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at University of Muhammadiyah Makassar in academic year 2014/2015. Therefore, the sample was determined with a cluster random sampling by applying a lottery technique. Hence, it consisted of 60 students divided in two groups. The data were collected through writing test, which consisted of pretest and posttest. The data were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics through SPSS version 20. The findings show that the students’ writing skill, particularly in terms of content, organization, and mechanics improved after giving the treatments. The results of t-test analysis for the students’ score improvement in terms of content and organization in experimental and control groups reveals that Sig. (2-tailed) is less than (α) = 0.05. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the use of UVIOPro in teaching writing was effective to improve the students’ writing skill in terms of content, organization, and mechanics

    Description of Mother’s Knowledge and Adherence to Use of Helminthic Drugs in Kuwaluhan Village, Magelang Regency, Central Java

    Worm infection has become public health issue with the highest prevalence in children under the age of five and elementary school-aged children. The children have difficulty maintaining the hygienist, especially when they are playing. This study aims to describe the level of knowledge and mothers’ adherence to the use of helminthic drugs in Kuwaluhan Village, Magelang Regency. This research used a descriptive study with both a survey method and a cross-sectional approach. The purposive sampling technique was used, while the questionnaire was distributed to mothers with children under the age of five and elementary school-age children in Kuwaluhan Village RW 2, Magelang Regency, in December 2022. The results showed that the level of knowledge of mothers in Kuwaluhan Village RW 2, Magelang Regency, regarding the use of helminthic drugs out of a total of 74 mothers indicated that 33 respondents (44.59%) had good knowledge, 29 respondents (39.19%) had sufficient knowledge, and as many as 12 respondents (16.22%) had less knowledge. Meanwhile, at the adherence level, respondents were categorized as having high adherence by 1 respondent (1.35%), medium adherence by 73 respondents (98.65%), and low adherence by 0 respondents (0%). Based on these results, most of the mothers in Kuwaluhan RW 2, Magelang Regency have good knowledge and have a medium level of adherence to using helminthic drugs for children

    Drug Management Cycle Before and After the COVID-19 Pandemic at the Samarinda Ulu District Pharmacy

    The purpose of this study is to determine the cycle of drug management before and after as well as the differences in the drug management cycle of the Covid-19 pandemic in pharmacies. A type of quantitative research with a descriptive method that describes problems that occur in the present and ongoing times in certain popylations. Analyze the data using the cross sectional or cross-sectional design method. Use the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test to find out whether or not there is a difference. The results stated that there were 2 differences in negative values after the pandemic. Positive ranks or differences (positive) there are 15 respondents who experienced an increase in value having positive data and Ties are the same value obtained, here there are 7 respondents whose post-pandemic value is the same as the value before the pandemic or there is no increase in the value before the pandemic or there is no increase in. This research is a scientific work, the results of this research will be useful to increase knowledge and can be used as a reference or data source for other related research to the drug management cycle before and after the COVID-19 pandemic in pharmacies

    Job satisfaction and nurse performance: a cross-sectional study in a hospital surgical ward

    Abstract: Employee performance has always been a major challenge in the management of organizations such as hospitals. Measuring the performance of hospital employees, especially nurses, is a very interesting topic considering that nurses are the largest workforce, which is around 50-60% of all health workers in the hospital. Research on job satisfaction in nurses related to performance is still important to do, to encourage overall hospital performance. Purpose: aim this research is to examine the relationship between job satisfaction and nurse performance. Method: This study used a correlational descriptive study with a cross-sectional design. The population of this research is practicing nurses with total sampling technique. Data was collected using the Index Work Satisfaction (IWS) questionnaire and the Six Dimensional Scale of Nursing Performance. Statistical analysis using the Chi Square test. Results: 60.6% of nurses are satisfied with their work, while 53.5% of nurses still have poor performance. This study has revealed a significant relationship between job satisfaction and the performance of nurses in the surgical treatment room (p-value 0.002; α: 0.005) with OR showing 6.188 meaning that nurses who are dissatisfied with their work have the opportunity to perform less well 6.2 times, when compared with nurses who are satisfied in their jobs. These results can be used by hospital nursing managers that in order to improve nurse performance they must consider the job satisfaction of their nurses

    Complaint Management At Public Hospital Banjarmasin

    The hospital service has been a concern for the public, because they were not satisfied with the service. Complaints were still found consequently, so the clients felt dissatisfied. This study aimed to look at the complaint management at Public Hospital of Dr. H. Moch Anshari Saleh Banjarmasin. This was a qualitative study with phenomenology design. Data collection was undertaken by in-depth interviews with eight participants. The participants of this research were five middle service managers, one middle manager in administration and finance, one head of the complaints unit, and one financial staff. Results: There were five themes identified based on the findings, namely; the actions undertaken for preventing complaints, the actions undertaken for resolving complaints, the hospital service improvement, the factors influencing preventive actions and complaint fulfillment, and the expectations in the prevention and fulfillment of complaints. The result showed that if the management complaints were taken attention of the action undertaken for resolving complaint and professional, customer complaint management would have been increase patients’ satisfaction

    The Use of Natural Disaster Picture as a Medium of Learning to Write Report Text

    Writing is one of the language skills that is considered difficult for most Indonesian EFL students. Teachers are challenged to provide an interesting medium of learning to increase students' writing skills and motivation. Natural disaster pictures can be utilized as an alternative medium for learning to write report text. Therefore, this study aims to find out students' ability in writing report texts using natural disaster picture and to describe perceptions of students in using natural disaster picture as a medium of learning to write report texts. The respondents were 22 students in the tenth grade at SMA N 1 Binangun in the academic year 2021/2022. A descriptive quantitative study was utilized in the present study. To collect the data needed, the researchers used tests and questionnaires. Furthermore, a test is used to collect the data on students' achievement in writing report text, meanwhile, a questionnaire is used to find out students' perceptions of using natural disaster picture as a learning medium to write report text. The results of the study revealed that the total score of students is 1308 and the mean score is 60. It means that the achievement of tenth-grade students at SMA N 1 Binangun is categorized as "Enough" as per the scoring rubric conversion scale. Meanwhile, the results of the questionnaire showed that using natural disaster picture as a medium of learning may motivate students to learn, create an interesting atmosphere, and provide new experiences in learning to write report text

    The Implementation of Flipped Classroom to Develop Students' Reading Skill

    The objective of this study was to investigate how the implementation of the flipped classroom in improving students' reading skills. This research was conducted using the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method that uses four phases according to the Kemmis and McTaggart model which includes planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were 18 students of class 10 science 1 SMAN 19 Kabupaten Tangerang. The data gathered in this study through observation sheet, interviews, and tests. The findings of the study found that the implementation of the flipped classroom succeeded in improving students' reading skills in which the average score of students who reached the minimum completeness criteria that students obtained an average score of 77.33 in the post-test cycle 2 compared to the pre-test score in which most of the students did not meet the minimum completeness criteria. This study also found that the implementation of the flipped classroom had a positive impact on student learning participation. Keywords: Classroom Action Research; Flipped Classroom; Reading Skill

    Multilayer Perceptron and TF-IDF in the Classification of Hate Speech on Twitter in Indonesian

    Twitter nowadays is one of the popular social media which currently has over 300millions accounts, twitter is the rich source to learn about people’s opion and sentimental analysis. However, this also brings new problems where the practice of hate speech. This research classifies of hate speech on social media. Evaluation using dataset from previous research Ibrohim&Budi (2019), then using classification method Multilayer Perceptron which combined with feature extraction to be able to detect negations and weighting uses Term Frequency – Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF). Results show that the F1 score gives an accuracy rate of up to 74.51%. This research has a reasonably good effectiveness from combining the TF-IDF and Multilayer Perceptron methods, considering the results obtained from the F1 Score evaluation value

    Pemaafan Dan Kesejahteraan Psikologis Pada Mahasiswa Yogyakarta

    Semakin bertambahnya usia hingga memasuki usia dewasa awal, manusia semakin dihadapkan dengan berbagai permasalahan yang sulit. Mahasiswa sebagai bagian dari individu dewasa awal banyak mengalami depresi, stress, dan kecemasan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara pemaafan dan kesejahteraan psikologis pada mahasiswa di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif korelasional dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 150 orang mahasiswa. Pengukuran data pada penelitian ini menggunakan Heartland Forgiveness Scale oleh Thompson dan Snyder untuk mengukur variabel prediktor (pemaafan) dan Psychological Well-being Scale oleh Ryff dan Keyes untuk mengukur variabel kriteria (psychological well-being). Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis statistik parametrik, yaitu product moment dan regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif antara pemaafan dan kesejahteraan psikologis pada mahasiswa di Yogyakarta. Adapun dari ketiga dimensi pemaafan, pemaafan terhadap orang lain dan pemaafan terhadap situasi memiliki pengaruh besar pada peningkatan kesejahteraan psikologis

    Description of Smoking Knowledge and Behavior in Teenager

    The efforts to find one's identity begin when entering adolescence accompanied by a desire to try new things including smoking, the percentage of smokers in Mahulu district is the fifth highest in Indonesia. The existence of the phenomenon of adolescents becoming more courageous in showing smoking behavior in public places caused researchers to be interested in knowing the description of smoking knowledge and behavior among adolescents at SMPN 2 Long Pahangai. This descriptive study used a questionnaire as a research instrument and involved all students who met the inclusion criteria so that 111 respondents were obtained. The results obtained were that most of them were in their early teens with 59 people, 62 women, 108 Dayak people, 45 people in class IX, 75 people who had family members who smoked. Most of them are addictive smokers, namely 30 people, use filtered cigarettes, namely 40 people, smoking duration of 1-2 years, namely 24 people, light smoker criteria (1-10 cigarettes/day), namely 42 people, and most of them are at the maintenance of smoking stage. smoking is 30 people. The conclusion obtained from this study is that most of the students at SMPN 2 Long Pahangai have a high level of knowledge about smoking, namely 96 people and most of the students at SMPN 2 Long Pahangai have non-smoking behavior, namely 62 people. It is necessary to increase education efforts regarding the dangers of smoking continuously and counseling about managing stress positively to adolescents at SMPN 2 Long Pahangai. Health education also needs to be given to parent
