Methods and Data for: Eight truths, eight lies: an experiment on recursive mindreading and social memory 2023
Methods and Data files. This study aims to explore the potential relationship between one’s mental verb vocabulary size, and their ability to mentalise. While multiple studies have been conducted on the limit of adults’ mentalizing ability (Kinderman et al., 1988; Stiller et al., 2007; Lyons et al., 2010; O’Grady et al., 2015), relatively little has been researched about correlative factors beyond demographic variables. Furthermore, the participants studied were overwhelmingly from Western populations speaking different varieties of English than in Singapore. Thus, this study also seeks to determine whether mentalising ability will differ on the basis of an individual’s vocabulary for cognitive words. In addition the study will investigate whether a person’s memory differs for complex embeddings with mentalizing content versus non-mentalizing content. (2023-03-02

A Silk-Microneedle Patch to Detect Glucose in the Interstitial Fluid of Skin or Plant Tissue
Glucose is critical to all organisms. Herein, we developed a wire electrode embedded microneedle patch (WEMNP) for in situ real-time detection of glucose in the interstitial fluid (ISF) of skin or plant tissues with minimal invasiveness. WEMNP is made of proline treated silk fibroin proteins, which provide good mechanical strength (0.75 N/microneedle) for tissue penetration and desirable bioelectronic interface for fast and high-fidelity detection. WEMNP shows specific and linear response to glucose between 3 and 18 mM for detection in skin ISF with a sensitivity of 21.21 nA/mM and between 30 and 180 mM for detection in plant ISF with a sensitivity of 1.22 nA/mM. Such self-administrable WEMNP could be instrumental to long-term home-based management for chronic diseases and to smart agriculturing
Replication Data for: Spacer cation engineering in Ruddlesden-Popper perovskites for efficient red light-emitting diodes with recommendation 2020 color coordinates
Ruddlesden-Popper perovskites (RPPs) have been demonstrated as a very promising approach for tuning the emission color of perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs). However, achieving high-performance red PeLEDs with recommendation 2020 color coordinates is still challenging due to the lack of reasonable control over the properties of RPP films. Here, we demonstrate that the judicious selection of spacer cations in RPPs affords a lever for engineering their film properties, including phase distribution, energy funneling process, trap density, and carrier mobility. Four structurally related spacer cations, benzylammonium (BZA), phenylethylammonium (PEA), 3-phenyl-1-propylammonium (PPA), and phenoxyethylammonium (POEA), are studied. Owing to narrow phase distribution, efficient energy funneling, and low trap density, the POEA-based RPP films enable efficient red PeLEDs with a peak external quantum efficiency of 10.3%, a maximum brightness of 1052 cd m−2, and excellent spectral stability. Significantly, the electroluminescence spectrum represents CIE 1931 color coordinates of (0.71, 0.29), which meets the recommendation 2020 standard (0.708, 0.292).
