The Sensing Salon : The Aesthetic And The Formation Of The Modern Subject
For Charlottenborg's 140th Anniversary, curators Francesca Astesani and Julia Rodrigues invited the Sensing Salon to examine astrological charts related to the establishment of Charlottenborg Palace, The Royal Academy of Fine Arts, and the Exhibition Building. When studying the astrological charts of the relevant dates to Charlottenborg, we found an image that renders it a key for reading the role of the aesthetic field in post-Enlightenment thought. The image appears in the very first chart, which is that of the creation the Danish Royal Academy of Art, in 1754. It combines two astrological formations: a Sesquisquare between Pluto (in Sagittarius) and Mercury (in Aries) and a Grand Trine between Pluto (in Sagittarius), Sun Conjunct Venus (in Aries), and Jupiter Conjunct Neptune (in Leo). The Sesquisquare aspect indicates a challenge, a conflict that is fundamental but barely visible, and that manifests through external events, which force the person, or the project in this case, to face the issue. The Trine (and the Conjunctions) indicate that the energies of the planets involved work in concert towards facilitating each other. With this combination of harmonic (Trines and Conjunctions) and a tense (Sesquisquare) aspect, which touches virtually all planets/astrological bodies in the chart, we found that later events would manifest the Royal Academy’s project. A project which is key for understanding the task the aesthetic has performed in the past two hundred years or so, the re-constitution of Man, through the figures of the Subject, the Human, and Subjectivity. While this project is already announced in the Royal Academy chart (1754), its political import becomes explicit when Charlottenborg was created (1883), with its hidden threat fully manifesting 40 years later, with the emergence of fascism, and other totalitarian political programs. The installation consists in a composite image of the chart and an audio of our reading. Design by Arely Amaut
Äkta livet : En masteressä om att använda nära relationer i konst
This Essay is about showing yourself and your pain in a private and personal state as an artist and by doing so, affecting the person closest to you. The Essay uses Susan Sontag's book "Regarding the pain of others"(2004), Kristian Vistrup Madsen's book "Doing time (2021) and Maggie Nelsons book "Bluets" as references to explore the deep meaning of art and personal tragedy and using people to make artistic conclusions.

Reading With Echo : Studies on the High Priestess, The Empress, Strenght and Justice
Since 2015 we engage in Poethical Readings: collaborative readings that address questions concerning the current global situation by using a combination of already-existing and newly-invented healing and reading techniques, including astrology, philosophy, palm reading, herbal healing, fake therapy, political therapy, Reiki, and tarot reading. From the outset, our practice is oriented by the question: how to image ethics with/out the modern subject? Reading with Echo is a new iteration in our collaborative practice that continues to be guided by the same question. For the past four years we have been working to develop a new reading tool for our Poethical Reading’s toolbox: the Echo Tarot Deck. The process of composing the Echo deck is itself a reading practice since it is inspired by our poethical readings of Ai Ogawa’s poems, having only the poems themselves, our Tarot decks, Reiki Reading, and our intuition as guides for the creation of the deck. The concept for this installation reflects the latest state of the process of developing the Echo Tarot Deck. What you see is a presentation of the elements that enter in the creation of the images for four major arcana - The High Priestess, The Empress, Strength, and Justice. These images come from the reading of the artworks in the group exhibition Green Snake* in which we identified images which correspond to the meanings of these four cards as well as their related elements: The High Priestess: Water ⇔ Infinity ⇔ Flow The Empress: Earth ⇔ Generosity ⇔ Spiral Strength: Fire ⇔ Syntony ⇔ Synodial curve Justice: Air ⇔ Implicancy ⇔ Crack The installation presents an image arranging the four tarot cards and their interpretation, with pieces of the corresponding artworks, as well as an audio recording of our reading of the image. The images are designed by Arely Amaut

Re-printed by Accelerator, Stockholm, 2025. Goldin+Senneby has collaborated with writer Katie Kitamura to explore experiences of autoimmunity and its metaphors of a ‘body at war with itself’. The artists’ research, experiments and performances have inspired Kitamura’s fiction, which in turn has influenced the duo’s artistic output. Flare-Up is the working title of the as yet unfinished novel Kitamura is writing in collaboration with the artists. The novel comprises two discrete parts set in parallel versions of the same world. One part revolves around a mysterious pine tree with a supercharged immune system, while the other tells of a stranger whose sense of self—and biological coherence—comes into question as he seeks a novel treatment for his illness. The first two chapters from each part are published for this exhibition. Självbiografisk arbete, betraktelse och berättelse från Riddarhyttan i Bergslagen. En liten by i skogen inklämd mellan två sedan länge nedlagda gruvor där mina släktingar, från morfar/farfar och bakåt, arbetat med att bryta främst järnmalm. 1984, året jag föddes, så hade det gått 5 respektive 17 år sedan gruvan i Bäcka och gruvan i Källfallet, belägna på varsin ände av Riddarhyttan, lades ned
Baixo as formas belidas da paisaxe / Under the beautified shapes of landscape
There is a stone in Muxía, a Galician seaside village, called the Waving Stone. It used to move and produce a loud and easy-to-identify sound in that process. However, it broke during a storm in 2017, forcing the place to adapt to its new characteristics: the value of that object in the landscape is not anymore its motion but the memory of that movement that people in the area keep and transmit. Both this essay and the exhibition it accompanies use this story as an analogy to talk about the linguistic transmission break of the Galician tongue and of the minoritized culture of which it is a part. Thus, the work research how the young generation who is used to hear Galician but to talk in Spanish relate to its own culture from a forced distance, making us need to do a big effort to relearn our own language. Distorted representations we received or artistic expressions that we couldn´t experience make it more difficult for us to see how a minoritized culture is never an image but an event, being constantly broken and rebuilt. Like a huge stone on the coast that, even silent, is still able to make a group of people identify around it

Vulnerable in the face of existence curiosity wanders longing with the eyes of a child listening and seeing open and hungry sensibly reminded of a place, there is something more. Beyond the horizon sounds its epithet, comfortingly capable. Well versed in books composed in music the water flows, down from the cheeks.
