Klimat i förändring 2021 Den naturvetenskapliga grunden : Sammanfattning för beslutsfattare, Arbetsgrupp Ibidrag till den sjätte utvärderingsrapporten (AR6)från FN:s mellanstatliga klimatpanel IPCC
Denna sammanfattning för beslutsfattare (”Summary for Policymakers”, SPM) presenterar centrala resultat från Arbetsgrupp I:s (”Working Group I”, WGI) del avIPCC:s sjätte kunskapsutvärdering (”Assessment Report 6”, AR6), avklimatförändringens naturvetenskapliga grund. Rapporten bygger vidare på WGI:s del iIPCC:s AR5 från 2013 och de IPCC specialrapporter som utgetts 2018-2019 som en del av klimatpanelens sjätte kunskapsutvärderingscykel, och införlivar ny evidens från klimatvetenskapen. Denna SPM ger en övergripande sammanfattning av förståelse av klimatets aktuella tillstånd inklusive dess förändring och mänsklig påverkan bakom detta, kunskapsläget om möjliga framtida klimat, om klimatinformation för regioner och sektorer och om att begränsa den antropogena (av människan orsakade) klimatförändringen. Med vetenskaplig förståelse som grund, kan de övergripande resultaten anges som obestridliga fakta eller förknippas med en bedömd konfidensnivå som uttrycks med IPCC:s kalibrerade terminologi. Den vetenskapliga grunden till samtliga huvudslutsatser finns i den underliggande rapportens kapitel och i den integrerade syntesen i rapportens tekniska sammanfattning (”Technical Summary”, TS), och indikeras med klammerparenteser. Den interaktiva Atlasen i AR6/WGI underlättar utforskning av dessa huvudsakliga sammanfattade resultat, samt tillhörande information om klimatförändringen över de referensregioner som används i WGI.This Summary for Policymakers (SPM) presents key findings of the Working Group I (WGI) contribution to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) on the physical science basis of climate change. The report builds upon the 2013 Working Group I contribution to the IPCC’s Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) and the 2018–2019 IPCC Special Reports of the AR6 cycle andincorporates subsequent new evidence from climate science. This SPM provides a high-level summary of the understanding of the current state of the climate, including how it is changing and the role of human influence, the state of knowledge about possible climate futures, climate information relevant to regions and sectors, and limiting human-induced climate change. Based on scientific understanding, key findings can be formulated as statements of fact or associated with an assessed level of confidence indicated using the IPCC calibrated language. The scientific basis for each key finding is found in chapter sections of the main Report and in the integrated synthesis presented in the Technical Summary (hereafter TS), and is indicated in curly brackets. The AR6 WGI Interactive Atlas facilitates exploration of these key synthesis findings, and supporting climate change information, across the WGI reference regions
Spatial distribution of residential wood combustion emissions in the Nordic countries : How well national inventories represent local emissions?
Residential wood combustion (RWC) is a major source of air pollutants in the Nordic and many other countries. The emissions of the pollutants have been estimated with inventories on several scopes, e.g. local and national. An important aspect of the inventories is the spatial distribution of the emissions, as it has an effect on health impact assessments. In this study, we present a novel residential wood combustion emission inventory for the Nordic countries based on national inventories and new gridding of the emissions. We compare the emissions of the Nordic inventory, and especially their spatial distribution, to local assessments and European level TNO-newRWC-inventory to assess the spatial proxies used. Common proxies used in the national inventories in the Nordic countries were building data on locations and primary heating methods and questionnaire-based wood use estimates for appliances or primary heating methods. Chimney sweeper register data was identified as good proxy data, but such data may not be available in an applicable format. Comparisons of national inventories to local assessments showed the possibility to achieve similar spatial distributions through nation-wide methods as local ones. However, this won't guarantee that the emissions are similar. Comparison to the TNO-newRWC-inventory revealed the importance of how differences between urban and rural residential wood combustion are handled.
