Skapa värde idag och imorgon : En fallstudie kring införandet av ISO 55000 i svenska samhällsviktiga organisationer med fysisk infrastruktur
No full textSyftet med denna fallstudie är att utveckla en kontextuell förståelse för svenska samhällsviktiga organisationers erfarenheter av att införa ett ledningssystem för tillgångar enligt standarden ISO 55000 och hur de tar sig an detta förändringsarbete. Fokus ligger på drivkrafter, förändringsledning och förmågor hos människor och organisation och studien tar avstamp i offensiv kvalitetsutveckling, styrning och ledning samt användning av standarder. Den multipla fallstudien använder sig av en förklarande-sekventiell metodansats huvudsakligen i form av en enkät med kvantitativa påståenden och kvalitativa frågor, som nyanseras med efterföljande intervjuer. En ökad systematik i syfte att uppnå bättre intern styrning och kontroll samt ökat värdeskapande i kombination med ökad robusthet och resiliens framstår som de största drivkrafterna för organisationerna. Vision, engagemang, öppenhet, komplexitetsmedvetenhet och systemförståelse framstår som viktiga ledar- och medarbetarförmågor för införandet och organisationerna anpassar sina strategier och tillvägagångssätt för införande och förändringsledning till den fas och kontext som just deras organisation befinner sig i. Studien ger insikter som ger inspiration för framtida forskning.The purpose of this case study is to develop a contextual understanding of the experiences of Swedish critical societal organizations in implementing an asset management system according to the ISO 55000 standard, and how they approach this change management process. The focus is on drivers, change management, and the capabilities of people and organizations. The study is based on an active quality development approach, governance and management, as well as the use of standards. The multiple case study employs a primarily explanatory-sequential methodological approach, mainly in the form of a survey with quantitative statements and qualitative questions, nuanced by interviews. An increased systematization aimed at achieving better internal governance and control, as well as increased value creation combined with greater robustness and resilience, appears to be the main drivers for the organizations. Vision, commitment, openness, awareness of complexity, and systems understanding emerge as important leadership and employee capabilities for implementation. The organizations tailor their strategies and approaches for implementation and change management to the phase and context their organization currently faces. The study provides insights that serve as inspiration for future research
Tuning chemithermomechanical pulps to achieve sustainable packaging materials : study of fines and lignin content
No full textGiven the declining demand for newsprint and the rising demand for packaging materials, new applications for high-yield pulps (HYPs), such as sustainable packaging, are being developed. While the traditional use of HYPs as a major component in paperboard is growing alongside this demand, their use in other packaging types with different property demands requires quality modifications or improvements to enhance mechanical strength and/or barrier properties. The research presented here explores the role of lignin and lignin-rich fine content, combined with hot-press technology, in improving the paper produced with chemithermomechanical pulp (CTMP). Critical properties for some packaging materials, as tensile strength (dry and wet) and air permeability were evaluated. Results indicate that moderate delignification (15%) or increased fines content together with hot-pressing improves the evaluated properties. The highest dry tensile strength was achieved through soft delignification, tripling the resistance (from 27 to 83 kN m/kg). Maximum wet strength (28 kN m/kg) was obtained with 35% fines content and 260 °C hot-pressing, which also resulted in the densest sheets. Air permeability was significantly reduced, either through partial delignification or by increasing the fines content, resulting in values decreasing from approximately 2000–20 mL/min. This approach aims to develop more sustainable packaging materials without relying on wet strength additives typically derived from fossil raw materials.
The impact of implementation approaches in activity-based workplace transitions : a mixed methods study in the Swedish public sector
No full textActivity-based workplaces, implemented in conjunction with working from home, are likely to become more prevalent in the future. Research on these environments remains limited within public sector workplaces. This study employs a mixed methods design to examine transition processes to these environments in Swedish public sector workplaces. Employees from the same organization were drawn from two offices at different locations, both of which had transitioned to activity-based workplaces One group using a broad strategy served as the intervention group (N = 282, 79% women), while the other using an expert driven strategy acted as the reference group (N = 157, 84% women). The employees represented various administrative operations. Findings reveal that, when comparing employees in the intervention group with the reference group undergoing this transition, the former group outperformed the latter group. Participants in the intervention group rated the transition processes, workplace communication and support from managers during the processes and various organizational, social, and individual factors significantly higher than those in the reference group. Qualitative findings highlight both positive and negative expectations, as well as the risks and opportunities associated with activity-based and working from home environments. Implications regarding these environments are that a well-executed implementation process during organizational change is essential for achieving favorable process outcomes. Of importance is to ensure sufficient time for the transition processes and actively engage managers and employees throughout the process to foster positive outcomes.
”Det glömda kriget” : En analys av Aftonbladets och Svenska Dagbladets ledarsidors rapportering om Irak-Iran kriget (1980–1988)
No full textThis study explores how two leading ideologically distinct Swedish newspapers, Aftonbladet and Svenska Dagbladet, portrayed the Iran-Iraq War (1980–1988) in their editorial content. The aim is to understand how political orientation may have shaped Swedish press coverage of one of the longest and bloodiest conflicts of the twentieth century. By analyzing selected editorials and opinion pieces from both the early and final stages of the war, the study seeks to illuminate the ways in which foreign conflict was framed, contextualized, and communicated to the Swedish public. The analysis is grounded in discourse theory and framing theory, combining qualitative methods with an ideologically comparative lens. Particular attention is given to how ideological, sectarianism, humanitarian, economic, and geopolitical aspects are expressed in the two newspapers, which are traditionally associated with different political traditions: social democratic in the case of Aftonbladet, and liberal-conservative in the case of Svenska Dagbladet. Rather than focusing on factual reporting alone, the study examines how value-laden interpretations and selective emphases shaped the narratives presented to readers. By situating these findings within the broader context of Cold War politics and global realignment, the study engages with the question of how media institutions act not only as conveyors of information, but also as political actors that contribute to public discourse and ideological positioning. The press, in this sense, becomes both a mirror and a constructor of political reality, especially in times of international crisis. Beyond the immediate scope of the Iran-Iraq War, the study also aims to contribute to a broader scholarly understanding of media as both historical sources and ideological instruments. It offers essential material for further contextualization and may serve as a foundation for future comparative research into how press discourse shapes public perceptions of foreign wars, religious divides, and geopolitical alliances during the Cold War period. Vi ler lite extra och stryker lite medhårs : Strategier och förväntningar på samverkan mellan hem och fritidshem
No full textSyftet med vår studie var att undersöka vilka förväntningar som vårdnadshavare och fritidslärare har på varandra gällande samverkan, samt identifiera vilka strategier som kan främja och försvåra samverkan. Detta har utförts via en kvalitativ metod, med en semistrukturerad intervjuteknik av fyra fritidslärare och fyra vårdnadshavare. Studieobjektets fokus var att ta reda på hur fritidslärare kan bygga goda och trygga relationer som främjar samverkan mellan hem och fritidshem. Metoden användes för att utifrån två perspektiv undersöka strategier utifrån erfarenheter och uppfattningar. I analysen av intervjuerna utgick vi Braun & Clarke (2006) och med hjälp av deras sexstegsmodell kunde vi identifiera fyra centrala teman som speglar respondenternas syn på samverkan mellan hem och fritidshem. Vi har använt oss av Lars Erikson (2013:2003) typologi som teoretisk utgångspunkt, med partnerskapsprincipen och isärhållandets princip i fokus. Partnerskapsprincipen belyser vikten av ett nära och jämlikt samarbete mellan hem och fritidshem, medan isärhållandets princip handlar om att hålla olika roller och ansvar separerad. Resultatet visar att samverkan mellan fritidshem och hem är en viktig aspekt för både vårdnadshavare och fritidslärare, det framkom att god kommunikation och tydliga förväntningar är avgörande för en fungerande samverkan. Trots detta identifierades flera utvecklingsområden, såsom ökat engagemang från vårdnadshavare, förbättrad kommunikation och ambitionen att skapa en likvärdighet i samarbetet. För möjliggörandet av en effektiv samverkan bör fritidslärare vara tydliga med sitt uppdrag och de förväntningar som ställs på hemmet. Vårdnadshavare har också ett ansvar att engagera sig i barnens utveckling. För att underlätta detta engagemang bör fritidslärare anpassa för att skapa lika förutsättningar för alla vårdnadshavare att delta i sina barns utbildning. Detta kan innebära att erbjuda flexibla mötestider, använda olika kommunikationskanaler och aktivt arbeta för att inkludera alla vårdnadshavare. Genom att arbeta med tydlighet, engagemang och likvärdighet kan fritidslärare och vårdnadshavare tillsammans skapa en stödjande och gynnsam miljö för eleverna.Godkänd 2025-08-25</p
Evaluating Trust-Related Principles in an Implemented Distributed Edge AI System
No full textThe fast expansion of AI within distributed computing environments emphasizes questions about trustworthiness, particularly in contexts involving sensitive data and resource- constrained edge devices. To address this, we implement and evaluate a lightweight federated learning intrusion detection system in a realistic smart home scenario that combines TensorFlow Lite inference on edge devices, MQTT-based publishing, and co- ordinated training via the Flower framework. By operationalizing a previously proposed taxonomy and ontology of trustworthy AI in distributed systems, the implementation in this paper demonstrates how key trust dimensions, such as data integrity, model reliability, and process transparency, can be realized in edge environments. Our implementation utilizes local inference with TensorFlow Lite on IoT devices and coordinated federated evaluation via the Flower framework. We also introduce a trust score to quantify how the implementation aligns with the trust principles. The results indicate that the trust mechanisms are maintained without compromising accuracy or loss, contributing to practical insights into the application of theoretical trust frameworks within distributed AI systems
Mentorskapets betydelse under arbetsintegrerat lärande : En väg till ökad anställningsbarhet?
No full textI den här uppsatsen presenteras en kvalitativ studie som belyser den interpersonella relationen mellan student och mentor utifrån en arbetsbaserad lärandekontext. Trots den erkända betydelsen av praktikbaserat lärande, där vägledning från yrkesverksamma är central, finns begränsade kunskaper som belyser studenternas perspektiv inom detta område. Syftet med denna studie var att fördjupa förståelsen för hur studenter upplever relationen till sin mentor under verksamhetsförlagd utbildning (VFU) samt vilken betydelse denna relation tillskrivs för utvecklingen av studentens anställningsbarhet. Ett särskilt fokus riktades på hur mentorsrelationen påverkar studenternas lärandeupplevelse och professionella utveckling. Studien byggde på kvalitativa intervjuer med studenter från fem olika utbildningsinriktningar som genomfört VFU inom olika verksamheter. Resultaten tolkades i ljuset av Vygotskijs proximala utvecklingszon (ZPD), teorin om situerat lärande samt ledarskapsteorin Leader Member Exchange (LMX). Resultatet indikerar att mentorskapet spelar en avgörande roll för studenternas lärande, tillit till sin egen förmåga och utvecklandet av en professionell identitet. En förtroendefull relation, präglad av god kommunikation, återkoppling, engagemang och gradvisa utmaningar framhölls som särskilt viktigt. Mentorskap fungerar som en nyckelstrategi i studenters lärande, professionella utveckling och framtida handlingsberedskap i arbetslivet.Godkänd: 2025-06-10.</p
Microstructure Analysis of Core and Shell Concept : A spot-melt, porous hatch, powder metallurgy and HIP inspired technique by AIM Sweden
No full textStudien undersöker mikrostrukturen av en additiv tillverkningsteknik under utveckling av AIM Sweden. Den försöker representativt karakterisera mikrostruktur och mäta porositet av HIP behandlade prover. Proverna har skapats genom en kombination av punktsmält och linjesmält PBF. Processen drar nytta av pulvermetallurgi och forskning inom additiv tillverkning vilken visas vara reflekterat i mikrostrukturen. Porositeten beräknas kvantitativt medan mikrostrukturen bestäms genom kvalitativ analys. This study examines the microstructure of an additive manufacturing technique AM in development by AIM Sweden. It attempts to representatively characterize phase structure and measure porosity of HIP treated samples created via a combination of spot-melt and line-melt PBF, the process draws insight from powder metallurgy and AM research which was shown to be reflected in the microstructure. The porosity was measured with quantitative analysis and the microstructure was determined by qualitative analysis.
Identifying Going Concern Audit Opinions Using Supervised Machine Learning
No full textThis paper evaluates the use of supervised machine learning to automatically identify going concern–modified audit reports. Models based on two different classifiers—logistic regression and extreme gradient boosting—achieve strong classification performance for this task. The same classifiers, along with naïve Bayes, also demonstrate strong performance in the ancillary task of identifying audit report pages in financial reports. These results have practical implications, including the application of the presented methods for timely accounting information retrieval for users, automated peer comparison for auditors, or as a data extraction method for researchers, particularly in settings with limited audit data availability.
