    Elevers upplevelser av hur prestationskraven påverkar lärande och mående i årskurs 9

    Syftet med denna studie var att belysa hur elever i årskurs 9 upplever att prestationskraven från skolan och sig själva påverkar deras lärande och välmående. Studien byggde på tidigare forskning som visar att ökade krav i skolan kan leda till negativ stress, minskad motivation och psykisk ohälsa bland unga. Teoretiska utgångspunkter var Self-Determination Theory och det sociokulturella perspektivet enligt Vygotskij. Metoden som användes var en enkätundersökning med både kvantitativa och kvalitativa frågor, vilket möjliggjorde en kombination av statistisk översikt och fördjupad förståelse. Totalt deltog 46 elever från olika skolor och klasser i årskurs 9. De kvalitativa svaren analyserades tematiskt. Resultaten visade att en majoritet av eleverna upplevde höga krav både från skolan och sig själv, det ledde till stress, trötthet och en känsla av otillräcklighet. Många beskrev att deras motivation var starkt kopplad till betyg snarare än till intresse för lärandet. Flera upplevde att skolarbetet reducerades till att klara av uppgifter istället för att förstå innehållet. Det framkom också att brist på stöd och höga krav försvårade lärandet och påverkade det psykiska måendet negativt. Slutsatsen var att en obalans mellan krav och stöd riskerade att leda till psykisk ohälsa och minskad inre motivation och sämre lärande. För att motverka detta bör skolor arbeta mer aktivt med att stödja elevernas behov av autonomi, kompetens och tillhörighet.Godkänd: 2025:07-05.</p

    The Development and Validation of a Questionnaire That Assesses Female Athletes’ and Coaches’ Knowledge of the Menstrual Cycle

    In this study, a menstrual cycle knowledge questionnaire (MCKQ) for female athletes and coaches was developed and validated. Items for an initial questionnaire (Pre-MCKQ) were generated from existing questionnaires and supplemented by three experienced gynaecologists. The 21-item Pre-MCKQ was piloted on a sample of 325 recreational female athletes, 27 female coaches and 19 male coaches. Each item's difficulty and item–total correlation scores were assessed, and the final MCKQ was reduced to 12 items. Eighteen experts rated the 12-item MCKQ for relevance (M = 5.4 and SD = 0.8) and clarity (M = 5.4, SD = 1.0) using a 6-point Likert scale. The 12-item MCKQ was then completed by 562 elite female athletes and 170 coaches (55 female, 114 male and 1 other). Test–retest reliability was assessed with a separate cohort of sport science students (n = 64). The mean difficulty index was 57%, and the mean item–total correlation was r = 0.36. Cronbach's alpha of 0.73 indicates that the questionnaire is reliable and test–retest reliability was strong. Knowledge test scores differed significantly among female athletes, female coaches and male coaches (F (2,728) = 8.59, p &lt; 0.01 and ηp2 = 0.02, respectively), demonstrating construct validity. Additionally, participants who rated their knowledge of the menstrual cycle as higher scored significantly better than those with lower self-ratings (F (5,726) = 38.45, p &lt; 0.01, ηp2 = 0.21). In conclusion, the 12-item MCKQ appears to be a valid and reliable tool to assess the menstrual cycle knowledge of female athletes and coaches.

    Fall injuries among patients in selected hospitals of nepal : A cross-sectional study

    Fall injury statistics are scarce in low- and middle-income countries like Nepal. This study examines fall-related injuries and associated risk factors to address critical gaps in injury epidemiology and prevention. Data was collected from 18 August to 17 September 2023 from the emergency and inpatient departments of seven hospitals in Nepal, one from each province. A structured questionnaire, based on the WHO Guidelines, was used for data collection from patients or caregivers. Among 1,175 injury patients, 38.6% sustained nonfatal fall injuries. Males comprised 58.9% of cases. Most falls (93.6%) were unintentional, and 64.5% occurred at home. 32% of all fall injury patients were children under 15 years, and 17.7% were those aged 65 years or older. Farmers and students accounted for 58.5% of all falls. Injured limbs were most common, followed by head injuries (21.7%). Regression analysis revealed disparities in fall injuries associated with province, geography, place of residence, occupation groups, castes, and gender of the patients. Marital status and household income were not found to be significantly associated with falls. Males were more likely than females to receive immediate care after fall injuries. Falls occurring at home disproportionately affect children, the elderly, and those involved in agricultural occupations. The findings highlight the urgent need for implementing targeted interventions, particularly in domestic and rural settings, and addressing inequalities in injury treatment.     FLERSPRÅKIGA ELEVERS LÄSFÖRSTÅELSE : En studie om effektiva metoder och strategier

    Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur lärare i förskoleklass – årskurs 3 stödjer flerspråkiga elevers läsförståelse, med fokus på vilka strategier och resurser som används i undervisningen. Studien syftar även till att belysa de utmaningar och möjligheter lärare upplever i arbetet med att främja läsförståelse hos flerspråkiga elever. För att göra det används en enkätundersökning som genom ett målstyrt urval skickas ut till verksamma lärare, där totalt 53 svar kom in. Studiens resultat visar att lärarna anser att ordförrådsutveckling, högläsning och visuella hjälpmedel är viktiga för flerspråkiga elevers läsförståelse. Vidare visar resultaten att Tänka-högt-metoden är den mest använda strategin, medan användningen av modersmålslärare är begränsad. Många lärare upplever brist på tid, resurser och fortbildning som stora utmaningar. Slutligen visar resultaten att det finns ett stort behov av att öka resurserna i skolan, och att lärarna får mer fortbildning. Slutsatsen är att enkätstudien visar att lärare använder varierande metoder för att stödja flerspråkiga elevers läsförståelse, men upplever stora utmaningar med brist på resurser och fortbildning.     Empower Our Growth as Athletes: Voices of Swedish Athletes With Intellectual Disability

    ABSTRACT Background: People with intellectual disability participate in organised sports to a lesser extent than people in general. The aim of this study was to explore the motivation for engaging in sports among athletes using the theoretical framework of senseof belonging. Method: Semi-structured online interviews were carried out with athletes (N=15, 8/7 women/men, 29.5±9 years) with intellectual disabilities. Results: The main theme ‘Empower me to grow as an athlete—adapt the support to help me develop my sport skills and social aspects’ showed that motivation, competence, perception, and opportunities were important factors for engaging in sports.Support was an important factor for creating adapted opportunities. Conclusion: Athletes with intellectual disabilities have motivation, want to feel competent, and to be athletes who belong insports and develop as such.     There is a lot of competition on the world stage e specially in Africa with the big powers of the world. The purpose of this thesis is to examine why China's Belt and Road Initiative in Africa and the European (EU) response, Global Gateway, were created through the lens of comparative foreign policy theory, which will compare the European and Chinese initiatives. The paper do this with the qualitative method of text analysis where government websites and documents are studied to answer the research questions. The result showed that there is a lot of difference to why these initiatives were created. China created the Belt and Road Initiative as a step to restore its great power in the world. The EU created the Global Gateway Initiative to support investment in the digital and green transition, but they also wants to use its projects and power to influence other countries and spread their values.2025-06-05</p

    In the strive for equal suffrage for men and women in Sweden, the nationwide movement of women, The organization of the political suffrage for women, shortened FKPR, was an important part of the establishment of democracy in Sweden. Most of the research has focused on the main women's suffrage organization LKPR and the suffrage movement in general, but the local perspective hasn’t gotten any wider attention. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to examine the local women's suffrage movement in Östersund, Jämtland during the period 1903–1915. The study examined the preserved protocol material from the organization FKPR Östersund. The theoretical framework was based on a combination of the citizenship theories of T.H. Marshall and those of Hege Skjeie and Birte Siim, the gender theory of Yvonne Hirdman and the politics of presence by Anne Phillips, and the politics of representation by Hannah Pitkin. The main findings suggest that the organization was based on liberal citizen values and practiced an active, almost activistic citizenship. The main subjects discussed were those involving suffrage and citizenship, as well as education in sociology. Their relationship with men was based on the subordination of women's gender of the time but men could also be an allied partner in the aim of suffrage. Sometimes, men were used as a tool to achieve their goals. In conclusion, FKPR Östersund corresponds to the main part of previous research and the organization appears as the local mirror of the national women's suffrage movement. Slutgiltigt godkännandedatum: 2025-06-15</p

    Optimal placement of PMU in wide area monitoring system of transmission network using quasi-oppositional-based artificial rabbit optimization

    Due to the massive volume of data generated by the PMU implementation in the current power system during the data collection process, the data transmission system becomes overburdened. The trade-off between installation cost, communication congestion, and full system observability makes it difficult to decide where PMUs should be placed in large-scale transmission networks. Additionally, the placement of PMUs in the optimal placement has a significant impact on both installation costs and traffic congestion. The wide area monitoring system (WAMS) is a practical solution for this data system congestion. Additionally, the incorporation and integration of the zero injection bus (ZIB) into the current system may allow for a further decrease in the number of PMUs necessary to achieve full system observability. To achieve perfect observability in the PMU placement problem, the researchers in this study developed a hybrid quasi oppositional-based artificial rabbit optimization. In order to survive, rabbits use detour foraging, random hiding, and energy shrinkage. Rabbits imitate other foragers while disregarding their own strategies. This tactic helps with exploration. The rabbits can choose a random burrow from among their own borrows to hide in, lowering the likelihood that the predator would locate and capture them. These tactics assist in exploitation. A balance between exploration and exploitation is finally maintained by the energy shrink. In the current work, the authors used these special techniques to examine total observability, WAMS data traffic, ZIB, and cost installation index in the PMU placement problem. On the IEEE 14-bus, IEEE 30-bus, IEEE 57-bus, and IEEE 118-bus, the proposed techniques have been tested. In order to demonstrate the superiority of the suggested technique in the white scenario, the computed results were compared with other published studies. The outcomes of the suggested methods also show a faster convergence and speedier data scenario.
