Making the invisible visible: a study on ingredient branding in the automotive industry : An experimental study in the automotive industry
No full textIn a competitive environment, ensuring to provide high quality can be considered as one of the key objectives of the organizations. For guaranteeing that, the firms should communicate efficiently regarding quality, in order to influence the consumers´ perception towards quality. A high perception of quality requires a strong brand, which should guide the consumers in their choice and let them to refuse the competitors. Among the different strategies that can be put in place by the firms, co-branding is a joint strategy that is trying to combine the value of both brands in a synergy effect. Ingredient branding is a type of branding that entails the use of a component from one brand in a product of another brand, moreover these stimuli that are influencing the consumers´ behaviour. This stimulus will impact the quality perception of the brand and the consumers´ willingness of choosing the brand, therefore the brand would be preferred to other brands and make the consumer be loyal to the host brand. This study was conducted by employing a quantitative approach based on an experimental design with a focus on the automotive industry. A survey was distributed among students and young professionals, which are considered as actual or prospective car buyers. A total of 116 responses contributed to the sample of this research. The findings show that an ingredient brand with high perceived quality can increase the perceived quality of the host brand and that the increased quality of the host brand can lead to brand loyalty
Reducing iron and manganese at Österbybruks water treatment plant : a pilot study to a new process stage
No full textÖsterbybruks vattenverk har haft problem med höga mängder järn och mangan vid en av de tre råvattentäkter (Kyrkholmen) som används i nuläget. Delar av det nuvarande processteg som behandlar reduktionen av dessa ämnen byggdes i början av 70-talet och behöver nu ses över. Utöver detta har Östhammars kommun, som vattenverket ligger i, haft problem med tillgången av råvatten.För att motverka detta har man nu påbörjat bygga en vattenledning mellan Österbybruks vattenverk och Örbyhus vattenverk som ligger i grannkommunen Tierp. Utifrån detta har olika driftstrategier tagits fram som kommer påverka beslutet om hur man bör hantera mängden järn och mangan i råvattnet från Kyrkholmen. En nulägesanalys sammanfattar även den situation som vattenverket och kommunen befinner sig i. Flera tekniker har analyserats i denna förstudie genom SWOT-analyser. Två alternativ väger tyngre i slutändan: antingen förnya nuvarande teknik och optimera driften eller införskaffa en bioreaktor som genom mikrobiologisk aktivitet oxiderar järn och mangan i råvattnet. Ytterligare förslag till kompletterande och förebyggande rening föreslås angående halten av organiskt material som finns i Kyrkholmens råvatten
Physical activity during the theoretical lessons : a survey with primary school teachers
No full textSyftet är att undersöka grundskollärares uppfattning av fysisk aktivitet med elever på de teoretiska lektionerna. Enkätundersökningen genomfördes via Facebook. Efter en genomgång av respondenternas svar framkom bland annat vikten av att skolans ledning aktivt ger sitt stöd grundskollärarna när det kom till fysisk aktivitet genomförd under de teoretiska lektionerna. Grundskollärares egen fysiska aktivitet har också betydelse för hur den fysiska aktiviteten får ta plats på de teoretiska lektionerna
Do you feel excluded? : an explorative study of who the perceived typical shopping mall consumer is and if this consumer feels excluded from city centers
No full textAs the retail apocalypse is increasing, it is common to face stores without consumers in citycenters. E-commerce is one of the factors that has had a negative impact on physical stores,both in city centers and in shopping malls. It has been easier for shopping malls than forcity centers to fight the increased competition.The purpose of this thesis was to explore who the typical shopping mall consumer was andif this consumer felt excluded from city centers. Four concepts were investigated; consumerstereotype, place image, shopping experience and place attractiveness. A qualitative,method and an exploratory approach were applied, and the data was collected through anonline focus group and interviews.The findings showed that the perceived typical shopping mall consumer had seven traits;social, fun, curious, open, flexible, time thrifty, calm and patient, and four characteristics;young, families with children, females and formal styles/ fashion oriented. Furthermore,this consumer felt excluded as a shopper because of the limited supply and divided citycenter.The implication of this study was to understand who the typical shopping mall consumeris and, if and why he/she felt excluded. Hence, this can provide retailers in city centers withunderstanding of what factors affect the perceived typical shopping mall consumer’s choiceand thus will enable them to make their stores more welcoming also to the typical shoppingmall customer.The original value of this study is an understanding of the perceived typical shopping mallconsumer and if this consumer feels excluded from city centers, which has previously notbeen explored
Abakus i undervisningen : en kvalitativ studie som synliggör lärares erfarenheter med abakus
No full textSyftet med denna studie är att synliggöra lärares erfarenheter av att arbeta med abakus i undervisningen och ställa det mot tidigare forskning. I denna studie undersöktes sex lärares erfarenheter utifrån kvalitativa semistrukturerade intervjuer. Forskningens resultat och denna studies resultat från lärare är överens om att abakus ger positiva effekter på elevers inlärning. Båda visar att abakusen utvecklar elevers aritmetiska färdigheter, som att deras beräkningar blir säkrare och snabbare samt att abakusen konkretiserar det abstrakta i matematiken. Lärarna lyfter andra viktiga aspekter som forskningen inte tar upp, så som lustfyllt lärande och vikten av lärarnas roll när abakusen appliceras i klassrummet. Lärarna önskar att de använde abakus mer i sin undervisning än vad de gör idag.
Speciallärare i särskolan : en profession i gränslandet mellan policy och praktik
No full textSyftet är att analysera vad som kännetecknar speciallärare i särskolansarbete och uppdrag och vilken samverkan de bedriver inom ochutanför grund-och gymnasiesärskolan och vilka andra aktörer desamarbetar med. Efter det att Lgr 11 infördes finns ett utökat fokuspå akademiska färdigheter i särskolan, vilket ställer nya krav på lärarnaskompetens. Speciallärare med examen från tre universitet isödra Sverige deltog i enkätstudien. Resultaten visar att en majoritetav de svarande har lång erfarenhet innan de började sin utbildningtill speciallärare. De beskriver mötet med eleverna i klassrummetsom en viktig del av sitt arbete och uppdrag. Handledning eller ämnesutvecklingförekommer men inte i samma utsträckning somklassrumsundervisning. Samarbete med professionella utanförsärskolan är vanligt. En slutsats är att specialläraren har många samarbetspartners,besitter olika färdigheter och en majoritet fortsättersom klasslärare efter examen
Health and sustainability in public meals : an explorative review
No full textThe world is facing a number of challenges related to food consumption. These are, on the one hand, health effects and, on the other hand, the environmental impact of food production. Radical changes are needed to achieve a sustainable and healthy food production and consumption. Public and institutional meals play a vital role in promoting health and sustainability, since they are responsible for a significant part of food consumption, as well as their “normative influence” on peoples’ food habits. The aim of this paper is to provide an explorative review of the scientific literature, focusing on European research including both concepts of health and sustainability in studies of public meals. Of >3000 papers, 20 were found to satisfy these criteria and were thus included in the review. The results showed that schools and hospitals are the most dominant arenas where both health and sustainability have been addressed. Three different approaches in combining health and sustainability have been found, these are: “Health as embracing sustainability”, “Sustainability as embracing health” and “Health and sustainability as separate concepts”. An information analysis of biodiversity from an outdoor recreation perspective in the Kristianstads Vattenrike biosphere reserve
No full textFriluftsliv är en av nycklarna till att bevara den biologiska mångfalden. Tidigare studier visar att en del av bevarandet är att ge fler människor kunskap som kan leda till förståelse för biologisk mångfald. I denna studie undersöks hur biosfärområdet Kristianstad Vattenrike förmedlar biologisk mångfald utifrån ett friluftsperspektiv. Här ligger fokus på ekosystem och variationsrikedom av organismer, vilka tillsammans utgör definitionen av biologisk mångfald. Informationstavlor inventeras på besöksplatserna med hjälp av en kvantitativ checklista och två kvalitativa innehållsanalyser. Resultatet visar att biologisk mångfald förmedlas på samtliga inventerade besöksplatser, om än i varierande omfattning. Det totala antalet inventerade informationstavlor är 101 stycken. Av det totala antalet analyserade texter förmedlas ekosystem i hela 63 % genom samspel mellan abiotiska och biotiska faktorer. Variationsrikedom av organismer beskrivs 144 gånger genom arters förekomst och levnadssätt samt 37 gånger genom arters kännetecken. De besöksplatser som har utemuseum förmedlar över lag mest information om biologisk mångfald, möjligen till följd av att antalet tavlor är större på dessa platser
Outdoor life for good public health : with focus on the development of FaR in protected areas
No full textFor centuries, it has been known that nature has a positive impact on human health and well-being. Environmental goal number nine, Outdoor life for good public health, is one of the environmental goals that the Swedish government has decided on until 2020. The goal is to make the natural and cultural landscape more accessible to citizens and increase good public health. Mental illness is relatively common today at all ages, every individual can be affected. Feeling safe and having adapted accessibility in nature is a major significant factor in how the stay is experienced and how it affects the body's mental state. The right to public access we have in Sweden gives us the opportunity to, with respect, stay out in nature. The study's purpose is to develop the possibility of nature experiences in protected areas of Skåne County. Physical activity on prescription (FaR) uses nature walks in nature reserves as a method. The method of the study to get the result was using a checklist out in the feld. The study results show that there is significant development potential for FaR in protected areas of Skåne County
Talar Allsvenskans tabeller sanning i förhållande till ekonomisk styrka? : en analys av sex svenska elitfotbollsklubbars ekonomi och prestation
No full textFotboll och ekonomi är två ämnen som tillsammans utgör en stor del av världens intressen. Det är dessutom ämnen som under 2000-talet oftast blir nämnda i samma mening. Oftast talas det om att pengar inte kan köpa allt, och i fotbollsvärlden handlar det om att man inte kan köpa en ligatitel. Denna studie fokuserar på att undersöka hur ekonomisk ställning i ett svenskt elitfotbollslag kan påverka deras slutliga tabellplacering i Allsvenskan och Superettan. Inledningsvis diskuteras det om svensk fotbolls ställning i världen, tidigare studier och på vilket sätt denna studie tar sig ann ämnet. Relevant teori kring ämnet presenteras och även en förklaring kring urvalet av olika ekonomiska nyckeltal. Undersökningen omfattar totalt sex olika ekonomiska nyckeltal tagna från årsredovisningar från sex olika lag under är period på nio år. Dessa nyckeltal sätts i relation till lagens tabellplaceringar i en analys av beskrivande statistik, enkel linjär regression och multipel regression. Genom en analys av beskrivande statistik kring den insamlade datan visade studien på att en stark ekonomi kan ge en fördel i jakten på ligaguldet. Resultatet från den enkla linjära regressionen gav en analys på hur de olika nyckeltalen påverkar tabellplacering var för sig. Slutligen av resultaten från den multipla regressionen fick studien svar på vilka av de ekonomiska nyckeltalen som tillsammans bäst kan förklara vilken tabellplacering laget tar. För framtida studier föreslås en undersökning med ett större urval av variabler relaterade till ekonomisk styrka och prestation
