The idea of synergic quality management as a key pillar of building social resilience
No full textThe issues related to management, quality competences and social resilience for at least
several decades have been very popular and are the subject of analyzes by representatives
of various scientific disciplines. They are interesting because they concern almost
every area of our life – their development and, at the same time, problems to be solved,
implementing innovations, constantly taking into account the context of socio-cultural,
economic, technological and other changes. Total Quality Management refers to
a pro-quality approach to life and work based on cooperation, commitment, mindfulness,
self-control, the need to develop and improve own qualifications and competences.
Ultimately, this is to affect the long-term development and well-being of employees,
institutions as well as potential applicants, customers, etc. and a wide range of institutions
and people using the services of a company/institution or cooperating with it (within
various spaces of social, cultural, economic, educational reality, etc.) and society understood
in its various dimensions. The article deals with the key dimensions and contexts
of the concept of comprehensive quality management, which is one of the key pillars of
social resilience

Communicating the resistance
No full textThe article is an expansion and elaboration of the vital concept of communication or strategic
communication, as originally expressed in the Resistance Operating Concept. It examines
how a state that chooses to authorise a resistance organisation as part of its national
defence plan communicates the existence of that organisation through the four
phases: pre-conflict, crisis, occupation, and resumption of sovereignty. It also covers communication
directed at specific target audiences (domestic, allied and partner governments
and citizenry, and the adversary government and citizenry) during the lifespan of
resistance. It broadly examines the actions and messages, or communication intended
for each audience in each phase and the intended effects of such communication. Additionally,
it focuses on the concept of legitimacy of resistance. This legitimacy is granted
by authorising a resistance organisation through an established legal framework and by
adherence to the law of armed conflict during wartime. A government establishing such
an organisation must also consider the option of a displaced or exiled government in extremis,
accounted for under international law, and its effect on communicating and continuing
resistance. The article also references concurrent examples of effective communication
from Ukraine during the 2022 Russian war on Ukraine

na zachowanie polifenoli, a nawet na zwiększenie ich stężenia lub ich dekompozycję.
Wysoka zawartość związków polifenolowych w diecie zmniejsza stres oksydacyjny
i wspomaga organizm w utrzymaniu równowagi mikrobioty wzmacniając
system immunologiczny, może też wspomagać terapie przeciwko wielu chorobom,
m.in.: nadciśnieniu, cukrzycy, osteoporozie, zakażeniom bakteryjnym i wirusowym,
np. Covid-19. Rozdział zawiera przegląd prozdrowotnych właściwości polifenoli,
przedstawia sposoby ich pozyskiwania oraz prezentuje wybrane naturalne źródła polifenoli
dostępne w europejskiej, umiarkowanej strefie klimatycznej w postaci surowej
i po kiszeniuLactic acid fermentation preserves food but it is also a way to preserve polyphenols,
and even increase their concentration or their decomposition. The high content of
polyphenols in the diet reduces oxidative stress and supports the body in maintaining
balance with the microflora, strengthening the immune system and supporting therapies
against many diseases (hypertension, diabetes, osteoporosis, bacterial and viral
infections, even Covid-19). The article provides an overview of the health-promoting properties of polyphenols, presents the methods of obtaining them and presents selected
natural sources of polyphenols available in the European temperate climate

Defence policy of the Republic of Poland in the face of Russian aggression against Ukraine
No full textAs a consequence of Russia’s aggressive actions – initially with regard to the annexation
of Crimea, and the beginning of the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine in 2014 – many European
Union countries have revised their current security and defence policies. The ongoing
Russian invasion of Ukraine, initiated on 24 February 2022, only strengthened this
tendency. For Poland, one of NATO’s major eastern flank states, the need to improve the
management of national security that corresponds to the challenges and threats that lie
ahead has become self-evident. The goal of this article is to look at the assumptions of the
defence policy of the Republic of Poland, and to evaluate the country’s defence potential
based on the implemented modernisation schemes

niewydolności nerek z uwagi na lepsze wyniki krótko- i długoterminowe oraz uniknięcie negatywnych
konsekwencji związanych z dializą. W artykule przedstawiono aspekty medyczne, prawne oraz etyczne
związane z transplantacją nerek od żywych dawców. Omówiono proces kwalifikacji potencjalnego żywego
dawcy, kryteria wykluczające potencjalnego dawcę, procedury związane z opieką po donacji, a także
dylematy związane z transplantacją od żywych dawców. Dodatkowo przedstawiono założenia i sposób
funkcjonowania programu wymiany par.Living donor kidney transplantation is the preferred treatment for end-stage renal disease because of
the improved short- and long-term results and the avoidance of negative consequences associated with
dialysis. This article presents the medical, legal and ethical aspects of kidney transplantation from living
donors. It discusses the process of selecting a potential living donor, the criteria for potential donor exclusion,
procedures related to post-donation care, as well as dilemmas related to transplantation from

No full textThe purpose of the study was to learn the opinions of polygraph examiners concerning
the role and applicability of scientific research in detection of deception conducted in Universities
or other scientific centres. The questionnare was distributed among participants of
the 56th Annual Seminar of the American Polygraph Association (Orlando Fl. 2022). The 55
copies of the questionnare were hande out, 48 completed sheets were returned. As it could
been expected, polygraph examiners are generally not interested in of detection of deception
other than the ones they currently using in their practice. The new methods of detection of
deception, as for example exploiting the neurophysiological level (EEG, fMRI) or methods
remotely observable and registrable indicators other than those that have as yet been used in
polygraph examination generally was not interested for him

No full textIntroduction: "The term stress has become very popular in recent years. Although widely used, it
is still ambiguous. It is applied when referring to uncommon, traumatic events, but
also with regard to everyday life situations and related experiences. The concept of
stress is derived from the works of physiologist Walter Cannon and endocrinologist
Hans Selye and concerns primarily biological stress considered in terms of reactions
to present stimuli. Any symptoms of maladjustment or lack of adaptation are
treated as indicators of stress. Cannon used the term stress to describe the ‘fight or
flight’ response triggered to restore the disturbed balance of the body as a result of
the activity of disruptive stimuli."(...
Extinguishing fires in Wrocław according to the Fire Orders of the 16th Century
No full textPorządek Ogniowy był szczegółowym przepisem porządkowym, regulującym zasady
zapobiegania pożarom i ich gaszenia. Prezentowane opracowanie jest pierwszą obszerną
analizą wrocławskich porządków ogniowych z lat 1574 i 1586. Autorzy niemieckojęzycznych
opracowań historycznych z XIX w. i początku XX w. powoływali się na te przepisy
w sposób uniemożliwiający faktyczne poznanie zasad walki z pożarami we Wrocławiu pod koniec XVI stulecia. Celem opracowania jest prezentacja najważniejszych ustaleń rady
miejskiej Wrocławia dotyczących gaszenia pożarów i wykazanie zmian, które w nich zaszły
w okresie dwunastu lat.The Fire Order was a detailed ordinance regulating the principles of fire prevention and
extinguishing. The presented study is the first comprehensive analysis of the Wrocław fire
orders from the years 1574 and 1586. The authors of historical studies in German from the
19th and early 20th centuries referred to these regulations in a way that made it impossible
to actually learn the rules of fighting fires in Wrocław at the end of the 16th century. The
aim of the study is to present the most important findings of the Wrocław city council regarding
firefighting and to show the changes that have taken place in them over the period
of twelve years

No full textKonsekwencje braku aktywności fizycznej oraz siedzącego trybu życia coraz większego kręgu ludzi stanowią
obciążenie systemu zdrowia publicznego w skali światowej. Niedostateczna ilość ruchu sprzyja
powstawaniu wielu chorób, uciążliwych dolegliwości, obniżeniu jakości i długości życia. Trening marszowy
bazuje na naturalnym ruchu, jakim jest chód. Przeprowadzono wiele badań wskazujących na
korzyści płynące z treningu nordic walkingu w poszczególnych jednostkach chorobowych. Aktywność
fizyczna ma działanie terapeutyczne wówczas, gdy forma ćwiczeń ruchowych zostanie dobrana stosownie
do konkretnego przypadku. Poleca się wcześniejsze wykonanie odpowiednich badań oraz ustalenie
właściwej intensywności treningu. W artykule dokonano przeglądu publikacji naukowych dotyczących
wpływu nordic walkingu na zdrowie, opublikowanych w recenzowanych czasopismach, z wykorzystaniem
baz PubMed, NCBI, PMC, ScienceDirect, Oxford Academic Journals i MDPI.A lack of physical activity and a sedentary lifestyle are a burden to the public health system throughout
the world. An insufficient amount of exercise contributes to the development of conditions, troublesome
ailments, and a reduction in the quality and length of life. Walking training is based on the
natural movement of walking. There have been many studies showing the benefits of Nordic Walking
training for individual conditions. Physical activity has a therapeutic effect if the form of physical exercise
is matched properly to the specific case. It is recommended that appropriate tests be carried out
in advance to determine the appropriate intensity of training. Scientific articles published in peer-reviewed
journals were reviewed. The online databases PubMed, NCBI, PMC, ScienceDirect, Oxford Academic
Journals and MDPI include research and review papers written in Polish and English
