The knowledge and opinions of physiotherapists onaromatherapy
o możliwościach i sposobach wykorzystania olejków eterycznych w procesie terapii. Wyniki ograniczonych
Introduction: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the level of knowledge and common opinions
of physiotherapists regarding the use and effects of aromatherapy and etheric oils in their healing
procedures.
Material and methods: The research method was an anonymous questionnaire containing ten open
and closed questions, which was posted on internet social media. Altogether, fifty-three professionally
active physiotherapists participated in this study.
Results: Aromatherapy may be a valuable addition to conservative physiotherapeutic treatments. This
survey revealed that most respondents possessed a very limited or even unsatisfactory knowledge of
aroma oils. Their knowledge was strongly correlated with the frequency with which they used and combined
aromatherapy with other procedures in their own daily work – in fact 72% of the respondents
never employed aromatherapy. Most of them showed a deep interest in using aromatherapy alongside
other physiotherapeutic procedures, preferably in the form of a massage, aroma bath or inhalation.
Conclusions: In our study physiotherapists’ knowledge of aroma oils and aromatherapy was found to
be unsatisfactory. Publications about the healing properties of aroma oils that frequently appear seem
to show a growing interest in this topic among both physiotherapists and patients. It is strongly recommended
that one acquire a sound knowledge of aromatherapy through regular training on this topic so
that one is able to use aromatherapy during regular physiotherapeutic treatments. Our thus far limited
study results currently allow general rather than more definite conclusions to be drawn, but they may
inspire the continuation of more advanced research in the field of aromatherapy and its benefits to
human health
Assessing the potential of OSINT on the Internet in supporting military operations
This article briefly discusses some of the selected open-source intelligence methods on
the Internet, which may be utilised to support activities of the armed forces. The paper examines
this issue in two particular dimensions. On the one hand, it overviews some of the
most popular means allowing supporting conventional operations, for instance, by geolocating
hostile military infrastructure or troops. On the other hand, it explores some of
the selected methods allowing to support cyber warfare. It concludes that open-source
intelligence offers increasing capabilities, for instance, in detecting targets for offensive
cyber operations or geolocating hostile troops. Nevertheless, it also has considerable limitations,
particularly in terms of susceptibility to disinformation
Standards of human rights in the European Union
Prawa podstawowe w systemie prawnym Unii Europejskiej zostały podniesione do rangi
źródeł prawa pierwotnego. Uznano w ten sposób znaczenie ochrony praw człowieka
dla rozwoju wspólnoty europejskiej. W obecnej sytuacji społeczno-politycznej wydaje
Fundamental rights in the European Union legislation have been elevated to the source
of EU primary law. Two decades ago, it was recognized the importance of cooperation
in the field of human rights protection for the development of the EU. In the present
socio-political situation, it seems desirable to recall and systematize the standards of
human rights, which gained special resonance after coming into force the EU Charter
of Fundamental Rights. This article presents the eight standards of human rights
Security theory and practice: The Total Defence 21st century.COM – building a resilient society
Introduction: "When we started working on the issue entitled “The Total Defence 21st century.
COM – building a resilient society”, we did not know then how topical this issue
would become. We were aware of its importance, especially since 2014, which was
the beginning of the Russian aggression against Ukraine. However, we did not
think that the need to build an effective concept of total/comprehensive defence,
and then its implementation, would become so pressing in February 2022.
Two of the three general regularities in the history of international relations
have also become extremely topical. We are talking about the clash between imperial
and polyarchic tendencies, and nations’ desire to express their independence
and identity, and as a result, to have their own state. It can be assumed that in order
to achieve this goal, as well as for small and medium-sized states to be able to defend
themselves against the forces of empires and effectively deter them, they must use
the concept of total/comprehensive defence, in its improved, 21st century version."(...
The convergence of Franco-Polish interests since the time of the French Military Mission French military mission in Poland until the visit of Charles de Gaulle in 1967
Since the 16th century, France has been looking for a trusted partner in Central Europe.
Poland seemed predestined to play this role. The transformation of the Polish-French convergence
into a common destiny on the European stage was especially feared by Bismarck
when he reorganised Europe for his own benefit. Unfortunately, our deep knowledge of
each other has rarely been accompanied by full mutual understanding. The period of Polish
independence, during which the French military mission helped Poland to form an army,
was exceptional. The Polish experience refined de Gaulle’s geopolitical training. It was his
first confrontation with Russia, his first judgment on “strategic invariants”. He also learned
the geostrategic culture that he would develop on a European scale, such as a need for mobile
armoured weapons. The paths of Poland and France diverged with the German-Polish
non-aggression pact and the lack of vision of the French leaders. De Gaulle was a man of
living history, a man who knew how to discern the deep continuities on which he relied to
anticipate future prospects. This is why Poland was his first commitment outside France,
and then his first official trip to a country under the Soviet yoke. A visit during which he met
3 million Poles and in which he felt his last international initiative. It combined emotional
dimensions, cultural and intellectual proximity and potential political interests, but the constraints
of the Cold War dictated its modest results.Francja od XVI wieku poszukiwała zaufanego partnera w Europie Środkowej. Polska wydawała
się predystynowana do tej roli. Przekucia francusko-polskich zbieżności we wspólne
broni pancernej. Drogi Polski i Francji rozeszły się wraz z polsko-niemieckim paktem o nieagresji
i brakiem wizji przywódców francuskich.
Polska była pierwszym angażującym go krajem poza Francją,
jej skromne rezultaty
The creation of value by socially responsible companies from the legal perspective of the social interest
This article aims to present the concept of social interest applied within the scope of
Corporate Law and interpret it according to its application in Portuguese and Spanish
Law, in order to subsequently find out if the theoretical concept is applied differently in
the normative-legal context of these countries. As a result of this theoretical-interpretative
analysis, an attempt will be made to understand whether the concept has evolved towards
an understanding of the value creation of the socially responsible company from the same
perspective of corporate social responsibility
Pro-health education of youth and the physical fitness of the 21st century society
The problem of physical fitness in the 21st century society is, on the one hand, the result
of the last century negligence, and on the other, a natural result of a deepening regression
of pro-health education among young people. Such a situation negatively affects
both the health and physical condition of society, which indirectly also affects the level of
state security. Physical fitness is an indispensable condition for the effective functioning
of all services in this sector, especially uniformed formations such as the armed forces, the
police, and many others in their areas of responsibility. Unfortunately, it will be difficult to
change the society’s habits, but it is possible to develop new habits among young people
by focusing on pro-health education, i.e., education and upbringing in the spirit of responsibility
for their own health and physical fitness. Therefore, the main goal of this article
is to show the essence of the problem of young people’s pro-health education in the
context of the fitness level decline in the 21st century society, and how these issues can be
discussed in the face of contemporary threats. The paper also includes references to the
issue of education and health promotion strategy among young people in order to identify
the causes of the decline in society’s fitness level. The issues addressed were studied
using theoretical research methods, i.e., analysis, synthesis, abstraction, explanation,
generalisation, and inference
Operacje cybernetyczne a art. 42.7 Traktatu o Unii Europejskiej
The threat posed by the occurrence of cyber-attacks constitutes a challenge to national
security. Such attacks may target and disturb the daily functioning of any state. Faced with
complex and diverse crises, the European Union (EU) has improved its response capacities
over the last decades, introducing a so-called ‘aid and assistance clause’ into Article 42(7) of
the Treaty on European Union (TEU) applicable in the case of armed aggression against
an EU member state on its territory. The main objective of this publication is to examine
potential conditions for the application of Article 42(7) TEU in response to cyber
operations. The author argues that under certain conditions, the aid and assistance clause in
Article 42(7) TEU may be invoked in response to certain cyber operations against an EU
member state on its territory.Zagrożenia wynikające z dokonywania cyberataków stanowią wyzwanie dla bezpieczeństwa
narodowego.
codzienne funkcjonowanie. W obliczu złożonych i różnorodnych kryzysów Unia Europejska
w ostatnich dekadach zwiększyła swoje możliwości reagowania, wprowadzając do
art. 42 ust. 7 Traktatu o Unii Europejskiej (TUE) tzw. klauzulę pomocy i wsparcia, mającą
terytorium. Głównym celem niniejszej publikacji jest analiza potencjalnych warunków zastosowania
art. 42 ust. 7 TUE w odpowiedzi na operacje cybernetyczne. Autor argumentuje,
że w określonych sytuacjach klauzula pomocy i wsparcia z art. 42 ust. 7 TUE może być
stosowana w odpowiedzi na niektóre operacje cybernetyczne przeciwko państwu członkowskiemu
UE na jego terytorium
Japanese school of integrating art and technology in architecture. Example of the low-cost passenger terminal T3 at Narita Airport in Tokyo
Narita w Tokio. Chociaż nie należy on do dzieł ikonicznych, dobrze ilustruje zagadnienie relacji pomiędzy
wymaganiami techniczno-ekonomicznymi a japońską estetyką minimalistycznego designu.
Szczególna zdolność do łączenia mocno osadzonej w tradycji sztuki współczesnej z naukowo-techniczną
O sile powstającej w ten sposób lokalnej, a zarazem uniwersalnej kultury
japońskiej, świadczy jej duży i długotrwały wpływ na kraje kultury euroatlantyckiej. The aim of the article is to study the conditions that favor the integration of art and technology in architecture.
An example on which the research was conducted is the low-cost passenger terminal T3 at
Narita Airport in Tokyo. Although it is not an iconic piece, it illustrates well the issue of the relationship
between technical and economic requirements and Japanese aesthetics of minimalist design.
The special ability to combine strongly rooted in the tradition of modern art with scientific and technical
innovation is a feature that distinguishes Japanese culture. Conservative values, which still define the
society of this country, are not an obstacle in the absorption and development of new trends present in
the globalized world of ideas. The strength of the local and universal Japanese culture that emerges
in this way is evidenced by its large and long-lasting influence on the countries of Euro-Atlantic culture
