in Afghanistan to dismantle the Taliban regime, which
had harboured al-Qaeda, the terrorist group responsible for the

Care of a patient with coronary artery disease: a case report

a constant need to update knowledge regarding treatment, prevention and the

The psychological benefits of rock climbing – a qualitative study
No full textBadanie miało na celu odpowiedź na pytanie, jaką rolę w budowaniu odporności
psychicznej człowieka pełni aktywność sportowa, a dokładnie wspinaczka
skalna. Zastosowaną metodą była Interpretacyjna Analiza Fenomenologiczna
(IPA). Przeprowadzono sześć częściowo ustrukturowanych wywiadów pogłębionych
z osobami o wysokich umiejętnościach wspinaczkowych i z kilkuletnim
stażem we wspinaczce. Respondenci opowiadali o praktyce wspinania
w kontekście radzenia sobie ze stresem i sytuacjami trudnymi. Wyniki wskazują,
że wspinaczka wiąże się z przeżywaniem stanu flow i głębokiej uważności,
a więc z doświadczeniem ściśle związanym z pojęciem rezyliencji. Ponadto
regularnie podejmowana aktywność przekładała się u badanych m.in. na poprawę
samooceny, wzrost poczucia własnej skuteczności czy lepszą kontrolę
emocjonalną.The study aimed to answer the question of the role that sporting activity, specifically
rock climbing, plays in building a person’s psychological resilience.
The method used was Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). Six
semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted with highly skilled people
with several years of climbing experience. The respondents talked about
the practice of climbing in the context of coping with stress and difficult situations.
The results indicate that climbing is associated with experiencing a state
of flow and deep mindfulness, an experience closely related to the concept of
resilience. In addition, regular activity translated into, among other things, improved
self-esteem, increased self-efficacy or better emotional control in the
respondents
Determinants of managing security problems in the VUCA world
No full textW artykule przedstawiono koncepcje świata VUCA i występujących w takim świecie problemów
bezpieczeństwa oraz wskazano na pewne implikacje tych koncepcji dla zarządzania
tymi problemami. W pierwszej części artykułu zidentyfikowano cechy charakterystyczne
świata VUCA jako zespołu czynników kształtujących środowiska zagrożeń dla
bezpieczeństwa. Następnie omówiono, w jaki sposób czynniki te oddziałują na siebie
i wpływają na bezpieczeństwo środowisk organizacyjnych i społecznych. W drugiej części
opracowania dokonano klasyfikacji i charakterystyki problemów bezpieczeństwa oraz
omówiono trudności związane z ich rozwiązywaniem. W trzeciej części przedstawiono
niektóre stwarzane przez VUCA wyzwania i wymagania związane ze zrozumieniem złożoności
bezpieczeństwa i zarządzania bezpieczeństwem.The article presents the concepts of the VUCA world and security problems occurring in
such a world, indicates some implications of these concepts for the management of security
problems. The article first identifies the characteristics of the VUCA world as a set
of factors shaping security threat environments, discusses how these factors interact with
each other and affect the security environment. In its second part the article classifies and
characterizes safety problems and the difficulties associated with solving them. The third
part of the article presents some of the challenges and requirements posed by VUCA in
understanding the complexity of security and safety management
The level of acceptance of the disease and the quality of life of patients with Parkinson’s disease
No full textIntroduction: More and more cases of Parkinson’s disease are diagnosed each
year. Currently, nearly 6 million people suffer from it. Those affected by the disease
are forced to make changes in many areas of their lives.
Aim: The aim of this study is to identify the relationship between the assessment
of the level of acceptance of the disease and the quality of life of patients with
Parkinson’s disease.
Material and methods: The study included 108 people with Parkinson’s disease.
The research tool was a self-administered survey questionnaire and questionnaires:
WHOQOL-BREF and Acceptance of Illness Scale (AIS).
Results: Respondents experienced communication problems, fewer friends and
social withdrawal. A large percentage of patients have problems related to sleep
disorders, mood swings and depressive disorders. More than 60% of respondents
were dissatisfied with their quality of life and health. The level of acceptance of the
disease was low (AIS: 16.81).
Conclusions: Parkinson’s disease negatively affects every sphere of life. The level
of acceptance of the disease and quality of life were at a low level and independent
of the duration of the disease. There is no connection between quality of life
and the degree of acceptance of the disease

człowieka, które są powiązane pośrednio lub bezpośrednio ze zdrowiem.
Pozytywny wymiar zdrowia psychicznego oznacza rozwijanie
swoich mocnych stron, czyli kompetencji pozwalających na
konfrontację i harmonijne przechodzenie do trudności, niepowodzeń
i zagrożeń. Każdy człowiek, na co zwrócił uwagę amerykański
psychiatra i psycholog Milton Erickson, posiada zarówno deficyty
i ograniczenia, jak i zasoby: mocne strony, talenty, inteligencję, doświadczenia,
które mogą być pomocne i użyteczne w życiu, pomagając
radzić sobie z problemami oraz pokonywać trudności. Zasoby
to wszystko, z czego człowiek może czerpać w życiu codziennym, co
jest źródłem jego siły i mocy do realizacji jego potrzeb i celów."(...
The use of clean energy technologies in development and security strategies of enterprises
No full textArtykuł omawia działania, jakie w obszarze zarządzania strategicznego powinny być podjęte
w przedsiębiorstwach planujących rozwój z wykorzystaniem tzw. czystej energii,
i jaki może to mieć wpływ na bezpieczeństwo prowadzonego biznesu. Zwrócono uwagę
także na aspekty marketingowe związane z wizerunkiem przedsiębiorstwa wprowadzającego
ekologiczne rozwiązania. Omówiono wymagania prawne w dziedzinie dostosowania
się przedsiębiorstw do prawodawstwa krajowego i dyrektyw UE. Podkreślono, że
podejmowane decyzje zarządcze nie mogą mieć charakteru doraźnego, muszą być zaplanowane
i rozłożone na kilka lat. Ważnym aspektem jest także dywersyfikacja, nie tylko
źródeł energii, ale także technologii przyczyniających się do redukcji jej zużycia.The article discusses what activities in the area of strategic management should be undertaken
in enterprises planning development using the so-called clean energy and what
impact it may have on the security of business. Attention was also paid to marketing aspects
related to the image of a company introducing ecological solutions. Legal requirements
for the adaptation of enterprises to national legislation and EU directives were discussed.
It was emphasized that management decisions cannot be ad hoc, they must be
planned and spread over several years. An important aspect is also the diversification of
not only energy sources, but also technologies contributing to the reduction of energy
consumption

także tworzenia bezpiecznego i dostępnego środowiska dla wszystkich członków społeczności
akademickiej. W tym kontekście projektowanie uniwersalne wyłania się jako
kluczowy element, który może znacząco wpłynąć na poprawę bezpieczeństwa na uczelniach.
W niniejszym artykule omówione zostaną zagadnienia dotyczące projektowania
uniwersalnego i możliwości stworzenia modelu dojrzałości projektowania uniwersalnego
dla uczelni. Przedstawiony zostanie sposób realizacji związanych z projektowaniem
uniwersalnym działań uświadamiających wśród studentów, m.in. dla zapewnienia
atmosfery tolerancji i wzajemnej pomocy, a także bezpieczeństwa fizycznego w sytuacjach
zagrożenia.Universities are faced with the need not only to provide quality education, but also to
create a safe and accessible environment for all members of the university community.
In this context, universal design is emerging as a key element that can significantly improve
safety at universities. This paper will discuss universal design and the possibilities
of creating a universal design maturity model for universities. How to implement awareness-
raising activities among students for, among other things, an atmosphere of tolerance
and mutual assistance, as well as physical safety in emergency situations, related to
universal design will be presented
