Uncertainty among transplant recipients taking into account the period of the COVID-19 pandemic. Theory and literature review
No full textWprowadzenie: Epidemia COVID-19 wywołana koronawirusem SARS-
-CoV-2 opanowała świat, wzbudzając niepewność, lęk egzystencjalny oraz obawy
dotyczące spodziewanych negatywnych skutków zarówno ekonomicznych,
jak i społecznych. Przeszczepienie narządu to procedura ratująca życie pacjentom
z niewydolnością narządu, podczas której liczy się czas. Pandemia niewątpliwie
wywołała poczucie niepewności i zagrożenie egzystencjalne u biorców
narządów. Celem pracy była analiza piśmiennictwa dotyczącego niepewności
i radzenia sobie z niepewnością przed i po przeszczepieniu narządu.
Omówienie: Niepewność odnosi się do niemożności określenia znaczenia
zdarzeń związanych z chorobą i dokładnego przewidywania wyników zdrowotnych.
W okresie epidemii niepewność dotyczyła braku możliwości uformowania
schematu poznawczego dotyczącego choroby COVID-19. Pandemia
jest niejednoznaczną, złożoną i stale zmieniającą się sytuacją dla biorców narządów.
Czasowe wstrzymanie zabiegów transplantacyjnych podczas pandemii
COVID-19 oraz dystans społeczny skutkowały wzrostem stresu psychospołecznego
u pacjentów oczekujących na przeszczepienie. Stwierdzono u nich
wyższe wskaźniki depresji, lęku, bezsenności. Po przeszczepieniu pojawiły się obawy dotyczące podatności na zarażenie wirusem, ryzyko utraty przeszczepionego
narządu oraz potencjalne nasilenie choroby.
Podsumowanie: Radzenie sobie z niepewnością to utrzymywanie pozytywnego
skupienia, równowagi i więzi z bliskimi. Specjaliści zajmujący się transplantacją
są ważnym źródłem dokładnych informacji i wsparcia w tym niepewnym
czasie.Introduction: The COVID-19 epidemic, caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus,
has taken over the world, arousing uncertainty, existential fear, and fears
about the expected negative economic as well as social consequences. Organ
transplantation is a life-saving procedure for patients with organ failure, where
time counts. The pandemic caused uncertainty and existential threat to organ
recipients. The study aimed to analyze the literature on uncertainty and dealing
with uncertainty before and after organ transplantation.
Discussion: Uncertainty refers to the inability to determine the significance of
disease events and accurately predict health outcomes. During the epidemic,
uncertainty concerned the inability to form a cognitive schema regarding the
disease (COVID-19). A pandemic is an ambiguous, complex, and ever-changing
situation for organ recipients. Temporary suspension of transplantation
procedures during the epidemy and social distancing resulted in an increase
in psychosocial stress in patients awaiting transplantation. Higher rates of depression,
anxiety, and insomnia were found among recipients. After transplantation,
concerns have been raised about susceptibility to viral infection, risk of
loss of the transplanted organ, and potential worsening of the disease.
Summary: Dealing with uncertainty is about maintaining a positive focus, balance,
and connection with loved ones. Transplant specialists are an essential
source of accurate information and support during this uncertain time

No full textThe murder of the mayor of Gdańsk Paweł Adamowicz in 2019 and its circumstances formed the topic
of many media reports. These events released strong emotions and reactions. The image of Adamowicz
constructed by the media immediately following his death was virtually irreproachable, these positive
reports being connected with the so-called taboo of death. Over the following years, one of the main
topics of the discourse became the question of the moral responsibility for the mayor’s death. The authors
of this article concentrate on rhetorical strategies of portraying the protagonists in the media
coverage, utilising concepts including those of Robert Rowland. The daily press (“Gazeta Wyborcza”,
“Rzeczpospolita” and “Dziennik Zachodni”) and socio-political weekly publications (“Wprost”, “Newsweek”,
“Polityka”, “Sieci” and “Do Rzeczy”) are analysed

sklepów autonomicznych, czyli sklepów, w których nowoczesna technologia
umożliwia robienie zakupów bez fizycznej obecności personelu
w placówce. Autorka stara się zidentyfikować najważniejsze
problemy prawne związane z działaniem sklepów autonomicznych,
wskazując jednocześnie możliwe ich rozwiązania. Poruszono kwestie
ochrony praw konsumenta w tego typu sklepach, weryfikacji wieku,
stanu trzeźwości i zdolności do czynności prawnych klientów oraz
ochrony prywatności i danych osobowych konsumentów w kontekście
użycia „inteligentnych” systemów monitoringu.The article discusses the legal aspects of the functioning of autonomous
stores, i.e. stores in which modern technology allows shopping
without the physical presence of staff in the facility. The Author tries
to identify the most important legal problems related to the operation
of autonomous stores, while indicating their possible solutions. The
issues of protection of consumer rights in this type of stores, verification
of age, sobriety and legal capacity of customers, as well as protection
of consumers’ privacy and personal data in the context of the use

the political maturity of society is an issue that is always topical in research. When we add the issue of
changing the forms of expression and rhetoric of protest in connection with the political involvement
of subsequent generations, we see that it enriches and forever changes the narrative about the actions
of those in power. This article focuses on events related to the announcement of the Constitutional
Tribunal’s judgement of 22nd October, 2020, regarding the unconstitutionality of some provisions of
the so-called “abortion compromise”. This led to a wave of protests by Polish society. Thanks to the involvement
of young Poles, the radicalisation of language, but also the creativity of slogans, the protests
became much more visible and media-related. They permanently changed and enriched the repertoire
previously used by demonstrators
Intellectual property rights in insolvency estate. Crucial issues
No full textW artykule przedstawiono najważniejsze zagadnienia związane z pozycją
praw własności intelektualnej w masie upadłości. W pierwszej kolejności
poruszono w nim kwestie odnoszące się do inwentaryzacji praw
własności intelektualnej przez syndyka. W dalszej kolejności przedstawiono
wpływ ogłoszenia upadłości na umowy licencyjne. To ostatnie
zagadnienie jest analizowane z dwojakiego punktu widzenia. Po pierwsze,
rozważany jest problem swobody rozwiązania przez syndyka umowy
licencyjnej. Po drugie, w artykule poruszony został wątek wpływu
sprzedaży przedsiębiorstwa upadłego na zawarte umowy licencyjne
(chodzi o ustalenie, czy umowa licencyjna utrzyma się w mocy w stosunku
do nabywcy przedsiębiorstwa, czy wygaśnie). Całość problematyki
została przedstawiona z odwołaniem się do rozwiązań przyjętych
w obcych systemach prawnych. Wykorzystana została także zagraniczna
literatura prawnicza. Na zakończenie zajęto się wpływem ogłoszenia
upadłości na umowy, jakie upadły zawarł z organizacjami zbiorowego
zarządzania prawami autorskimi i prawami pokrewnymi. Oprócz analizy
obowiązującego w Polsce stanu prawnego, zamieszczono w artykule
postulaty de lege ferenda.This scientific article deals with the key issues related to the position of
intellectual property rights in the insolvency estate. It first addresses
issues relating to the inventory of intellectual property rights by the
trustee. Next, the author of the article presents the impact of declaration
of insolvency on license agreements. That last issue is analyzed
from a two-sided point of view. First, the author considers the problem
of the trustee’s freedom to terminate a license agreement. Secondly,
the article deals with the impact of the sale of the insolvent’s enterprise
on the existing license agreements (it is a question of determining whether the license agreement will remain in force in respect of the
buyer of the enterprise or will expire). The whole issue is presented with
reference to solutions adopted in foreign legal systems. Also foreign
legal literature is used in the article. Finally, the author deals with the
impact of declaring insolvency on the agreements that the insolvent
has concluded with organizations for the collective management of
copyright and related rights. In addition to the analysis of the current
state of the law in Poland, the author included in the article a number
of de lege ferenda postulates

Treating pregnancy and lactation-associated osteoporosis with denosumab
No full textOsteoporoza związana z ciążą i laktacją to rzadka, wtórna odmiana osteoporozy. W jej przebiegu dochodzi
do zmniejszenia gęstości mineralnej kości i zaburzeń ich mikroarchitektury, co prowadzi do złamań.
Praca prezentuje rzadki przypadek leczenia denosumabem 34-letniej pacjentki z ciężką osteoporozą
związaną z ciążą i laktacją. Rozpoznanie postawiono po przeprowadzeniu szerokiej diagnostyki różnicowej.
Po roku leczenia denosumabem uzyskano wzrost gęstości mineralnej kości, ustąpienie bólu
i poprawę sprawności funkcjonalnej. Obecnie nie ma wytycznych leczenia takiej osteoporozy, ale denosumab
wydaje się bezpieczną i skuteczną alternatywą dla bisfosfonianów.Osteoporosis related to pregnancy and lactation is a rare, secondary form of osteoporosis. It involves a
decrease in bone mineral density and disturbances in microarchitecture, leading to fractures. This paper
presents a rare case where a 34-year-old patient was treated with denosumab for severe osteoporosis
related to pregnancy and lactation. The diagnosis was made after extensive differential diagnosis had
been conducted. After a year of denosumab treatment, an increase in mineral density, relief from pain,
and functional improvement were achieved. Currently, there are no guidelines for treating such osteoporosis,
but denosumab appears to be a safe and effective alternative to bisphosphonates
